Bourbon is in Brandon Morgan’s blood. His family owns the best bourbon brand in the country—or it will be with his marketing genius. And after meeting the fiery daughter of a tequila distillery owner, he’s never been more sure.

His barrels, her tequila. It’s a match made in heaven. But only if he can keep his hands off the owner’s daughter…and his secrets to himself.

Lesa Ruiz will do anything to keep Little Possum afloat, but one look at Brandon’s gorgeous dimples and Lesa knows two things for sure: forever is not in the cards with this man and he’s way too sexy to resist for long.

Well, three things… Brandon is hiding something, and she’ll need to get a lot closer to figure it out and save her family’s legacy. Shots, anyone?

5.0 out of 5 stars the perfect easy-reading escape 10 March 2017

A Shot With You is the second of the “Bourbon Brothers” books. This book completely stands alone, you do not have to read the first story (Drunk On You) you to understand or appreciate this one. That said, you really should because it's a good book and it introduces you to a lot of the characters who appear in this book. This one is the kind of book that is the perfect easy-reading escape. It would be a great “beach read”. It's full of a ton of humor and heat and is everything that a fun read should be. And the cover is super sexy which is a big bonus.

Brandon and Lesa have incredible chemistry from the first time that their eyes meet, and I was hooked on them the moment that Lesa stumbled over the term 'marketing'. While they had instant attraction to each other, it wasn't insta-love, so please don't let that thought scare you off. These two had a boat load of chemistry from the start, and although Brandon tried to keep their attraction from interfering with their business, there was no denying the pull between them. Of course, their road to 'sealing the deal' - both personally and professionally - was filled with pot holes of both the comical, and the really sad varieties. And the pot holes were almost always caused by one or more of the fantastic side characters. Grandpa Morgan was inappropriately hilarious and I laughed out loud every time he said something that would have horrified me if I were Lesa or Brandon. Hilarious.

Brandon was exactly who I wanted him to be. He was a serious workaholic, but more than that he was just an all-around really good guy. In a world full of jerks being labeled as “alphas” to excuse their boorish behavior, it is nice to have a main male character who doesn't feel the need to be a bully in order to prove that he's a man. He was respectful, loyal, funny, incredibly giving, kind, and he loved his family – specifically the women (two legged AND four legged) - in his life unashamedly. These are all qualities that I absolutely love in a book 'hero'.

I adored Lesa. I thought she was spunky and daring while also being so incredibly loyal to her less-than-likable father. Although I was hoping she would lose her mind and go off on everyone toward the end, that would have been completely out of character for her. The resolution to that scen actually fit her quite perfectly, no matter how much my own inner-fighter was screeching on her behalf.

If you like to laugh, you should give this one a try because this book is full of humor. I like to drop bookmarks in as I read, noting things that made me chuckle out loud, and this book was loaded with bookmarks by the time I was done. “Benadryl Brandon” ranks up there as one of the funniest scenes that I have read in 2017.

I cannot wait for the next book in this series to see the ever-responsible Eve get her happily ever after.

I was provided an ARC of this book with no obligation to review it, and I liked it so much that I purchased it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Super lovely 10 January 2017

3.5-4 stars.

Oh, this was lovely.

We meet Brandon and Lesa when he travels to Mexico with his family on vacation, but he’s really just working, lol. On a tour to a tequilería, Brandon meets Lesa, the tour guide and daughter of the owner.

There were fireworks from the start for these two, so you knew when they got together it was gonna be explosive. What held them back was the fact that they were trying to do business together, and for Brandon that doesn’t mix; and for Lesa was the fact that the both wanted completely different things in life, so nothing long term could ever work.

Anyway, I loved these two, they were flirty and fun and I couldn’t wait until they got together. They both loved their families fiercely and felt they had obligations to meet. I loved their loyalty and I was so happy when they let things go to finally be a little selfish with each other.

Loved Brandon’s family and I loved the ending of this story, perfect for these two.

A lovely and sweet read.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great read! 16 January 2017

Workaholic Brandon Morgan doesn’t dream about traveling the world or acquiring great fame. He’s the son of the best bourbon distiller in the country and happy to live in Kentucky. Self-assured and definitely hot, he lives and breathes his work. On his first vacation outside the US, he takes a tour of a tequila distillery and finds a way to incorporate work into his schedule. The struggling business sends his working mind into overdrive. If nothing else, he is a problem solver.
Lesa Ruiz came back home to help her father with the tequila business after her mother died. All she’s ever wanted to do, and had spent many hours before her mother’s death, planning trips to all the exotic locations she wanted to visit. When her father send her with Brandon to Kentucky to assess the bourbon distillery, she jumps at the chance to escapeBrandon’s job, taking Lesa to tour his family business and assure her they are solid, falls into one problem after another with machine breakdowns, construction delays, etc. Though Lesa is game for pretty much anything, this wasn’t in the plans.
. I loved the furry sidekicks as they added another touch of reality.
What I liked most about this book was the author’s style of writing. The book was well written, fresh, and flowed smoothly. I love the sense of humor and the way the characters interacted. The scenes flowed smoothly and the pace was great.
I would love to read more by this author.

I LOVE distillery tours. I've been on a dozen of them. Therefore I HAD to read this book. Unfortunately my expectations for Teri Anne Stanley's book weren't met. "A Shot With You" had a lackluster storyline and uninspired characters. On the upside, the sex scenes were hot and there were extremely funny scenes and situations. Just not enough to hold my attention. It took much longer to finish the book because I kept setting it down due to lack of interest. I wanted to like the main characters and to some degree I did. I enjoyed when they were playful and courting. But the hero would get inside his head and it was so repetitive. The heroine was feisty and strong until she needed to be. In that pivotal scene she could have stood up for herself and had righteous indignation on her side. But she meekly walked away.
Bottom line the book didn't hold my interest and I'm pretty easy in that regard. The characters just weren't strong enough. The storyline had plot holes all over the place. There wasn't enough humor and sex scenes to throw it a lifeline. Don't get me started on the research. In the Acknowledgements, Teri Anne Stanley thanks a Warehouse Manager at Buffalo Trace distillery (Excellent bourbons BTW) for answering all her questions. She admits that she didn't use them all. Unfortunately for anyone who knows anything about bourbon distilleries and tours her lack of using the research shows. That's a small population but most of Kentucky and Tennessee would be pretty knowledgeable. The character development was token at best. This book just didn't have any meat to it's bones. I'm sorry but the Bourbon Brothers series won't be on my To Be Read list.

This novel was provided to me and it was voluntarily read and reviewed without bias.
