Product Description

From New York Times bestselling romantic comedy author Julia Kent comes a second chance romance that will make you smile...
Gerald Wright works for billionaires. He never imagined he'd become one.

The former Navy SEAL is a chauffeur by day, artist by night, so when hotter-than-ever ex-fiancée Suzanne Dayton interrupts his nude model sculpting class to serve him with inheritance paperwork from a man he's never heard of, he assumes it's a joke.

Turns out the joke's on him. There's just one catch. A big one.

And it might be Suzanne -- in more ways than he ever dreamed.

Shopping for an Heir is the 10th book in the New York Times bestselling Shopping for a Billionaire series by Julia Kent.

In true Julia Kent fashion, this book had me cracking up from the very first chapter :D But you will find so much more than the typical for the author humour. The story is kind of a second chance romance with a healthy dose of fun, sprinkled with mystery and topped with some hotness :)

Gerald and Suzanne are quite the interesting couple. Due to their past, there issues with trust, heartbreak and abandonment (mainly from Suzanne's side) that keep them from giving their relationship a second chance. The terror they lived through, while in the military, left them with scars that kept them from really living before their first meeting after finally coming home. Their journey towards each other is full of difficulties but they manage to find the way to their hearts.

But nothing is ever easy. And danger follows them around every corner. And when you add to that the mystery of an ancient artefact, things can get quite confusing and difficult but definitely interesting for the reader :)

So, to summarise, I quite enjoyed reading this story. It wasn't as full of humour as some of Julia Kent's other stories but it was still an interesting read, a beautiful story of second chances.

I received this book as an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Another wonderful book in the Shopping Series, this one is full of mystery, intrigue, romance and of course comedy. The McCormick family chauffeur Gerald receives an inheritance that is delivered by his former fiancee Suzanne or Suz as we come to know her. Gerald and Suz were in the military together but Gerald left her 10 years ago and she never knew why. If he sells the artefact he would become an instant millionaire but should he or give it back to where it belongs.

Along with this romantic mystery part of the story our other favourite characters also appear from Declan posing nude for a sculpture class to Marie smoking what turns out to be oregano with James McCormick the family patriarch.

You just can't go wrong with this book or any of the others in the series, just a warning if you read in public be prepared to explain what all the laughter is about because you just can't help yourself.

But but but.....WTF ..how can it just end like that....I...I...I...OMFG I am seriously lost for words....2017...seriously 2017????
I...I...I...
this book can be read as a standalone and out of order from the other books in the heritance series.
Okay so this story is typical of Julia Kent...you get to see more (hahahahaha) of the characters from her other books but you also get more in depth on the other newer characters.
You will not be disappointed

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of all Worlds. 22 September 2016

If you've read any of the Inheritance or Shopping for... books, you'll love this newest installment. And if you haven't read either of those series, you'll still love this one. Witty and humorous the story includes characters fleshed out to be true personalities you'd want to be part of your life. A storyline ripped from current events and containing relatable references from the social and newsworthy events of our day. The writing is brilliant and Gerald and Suzanne are two main characters you root for to get their happy ever after ending. Gerard is an ex-SEAL and artist, who has been a stoic and strong secondary character in the Shopping for.... series. His inheritance from Harold Hopewell brings not only his past crashing back to tilt his world, but has his ex, Suzanne, careening back as well. Dealing with the pain and consequences of actions ten years old are mesmerizing for the reader. Suzanne is a sharp, successful attorney. She has put her life back together after her military service and loss of Gerald. Gerald, chauffeur/ bodyguard for the infamous McCormick men has learned to live with his demons. Their reunion due to Gerald's inheritance is touching and endearing. It is true to the wicked humor and hot romance of its namesake series. The maturity imbued in both main characters is real and welcome. The story is brought to life by all the personalities affecting the progress of the plot through humor, love and occasional meddling. I am a big fan of Julia Kent, and I love this latest installment of her world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Two Deep Souls Find a Second Chance at Love 21 September 2016

This book can be read as a stand alone book, but of you enjoy the zany wit and complex characters, I would strongly recommend the entire Shopping series by Mrs. Kent. If you are not laughing out loud by the end of the first chapter, have someone check you for a pulse.

Gerald Wright has been the chauffeur and bodyguard for the McCormick family for years. He is ex-military and has worked through some serious PTSD issues. By evening he teaches his true love - sculpting at the West Side Center for Arts. He uses the paid classes to fund art classes for kids and seniors.

Suzanne Dayton was engaged to Gerald when they were active duty in Afghanistan. He broke it off with no explanation and she never got over it. She went to law school, became a junior associate at a Boston law firm and with hard work, long hours and steel nerves is now a full partner.

Suzanne's law firm has her serving papers to Gerald for Harold Hopewell' s estate. She does not want to, but the terms are that it must be her. His inheritance? A rare artifact worth 100 million. How will their reunion go? How will Gerald handle all the women ogling a nude Declan in his sculpting 101 class? Can Gerald and Suzanne work through their past to find a future together? What will Gerald do with his inheritance? Find all this and more laughter, along with a couple tears in Julia Kent's addition to The Inheritance Series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Anybody want some oregano 22 September 2016

I so love how Julia Kent writes. I'm so happy for Gerald. You get a more in depth imagine of him. You get a glimpse of his nature. I so love this book. It had me dying laughing in the middle of the night. I'm sick but for some reason could not put this book down. Between coughing or puking In was still holding my stomach from laughter. I'm glad all the other characters are in this book as well. Declan playing matchmaker, Maria disrupting class. Agnes pinching people. That 92 year old know she's wrong and on top of that sculpting nude people. Well, she only wanted to sculpt one person and had the class sold out. Don't forget about the many dates that went horribly but funny wrong for Suzanne. You only punish a pup who mess with your crotch with a lease...This story was too much. I'm sad it ended. I might have cornbread it and see if I forgot or missed a section or cheaper or page. I cannot wait for the honey story or Hamish story. Who would have thought running into your ex created so much in you. Oh yeah the oregano..what can I say...had me in tears literally. Get the book so you will know what I'm talking about. Just remembered I warned you it has to do with Maria.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gerald Wright and Suzanne Dayton have a prior history and ... 21 September 2016

Gerald Wright and Suzanne Dayton have a prior history and are brought back together when she has to deliver the news of his inheritance.

It sounds straightforward, but not if it's a Julia Kent story.
Kent infuses humor into the very fiber of what should be mundane, every day moments, in the lives of her characters.

Some of the characters are known to be so colorful, that a mere mention of their names predisposes the ( *"Kentian") reader to smile and involuntarily start clenching their abs, in anticipation of the laughter to come.

Suzanne finds herself in the middle of a sculpting class being taught by her heartbreaker, Gerald.
She is obligated by the terms of the will to be the one to deliver his inheritance information.

It was difficult enough to have to see Gerald again, but she was not expecting to see a naked Declan as the class model.

Declan stood up when he saw it was Suzanne, much to both the dismay of those sculpting, as well as elation. One of the saucy senior ladies found seeing a full on frontal view appealing. Her comment was a hoot!

Gerald tried getting Suzanne to wait for him to finish the class, but it wasn't to be as she had plans- a date.

Getting to the nitty gritty of their break up ten years ago, reveals that Gerald pushed her away for her own good. He was worried for her well-being if he didn't.

Julia Kent sheds light on an issue that is much more prevalent than is reported- PTSD. She deals with a tough topic through her characters, and does so with such ease, invoking empathy and creating a greater understanding.

Gerald sought needed help in figuring out how he was going to be able to make a life after serving his country.
Seeing Suzanne again after ten years, Gerald wants nothing more than to be able to set things right and love her forever.

What's not to love about this story? There is so much laughter, and a happily ever after!
