It’s tough being a modern woman, but Persephone Alcmedi has it worse than most. Being the prophesied Lustrata has kicked her career as a witch into high gear, and juggling a wærewolf boyfriend who is about to become king of his kind and a seductive vampire who bears her magical Mark isn’t easy either.
Still, Seph’s beloved foster daughter, Beverley, is causing more trouble than these two men put together. The young girl’s been playing with a magical artifact that’s far more dangerous than she realizes. Now Seph must summon help from a mystical being so potent that even vampires fear him . . . and the cost of his aid may be more than she’s willing to pay. Seph, Johnny, and Menessos face threats from all sides—and a few from within. Will the forces of destiny cement their tenuous supernatural union, or shatter it forever?

Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert!

This is a superb series, that in my opinion, must be read in order. It follows the story of a witch (Persephone), a werewolf (Johnny) and a vampire (Menessos). Over the earlier 5 books so much as happened. Seph, Johnny and Menessos are a magically linked threesome.....no not like that, although I'm pretty sure Menessos wouldn't mind. Seph is now the Lustrata, Johnny the Domm Lup and Menessos has lost everything, which is where this story starts with Menessos havin handed over the Haven to his first in command Goliath.
Ms Robertson does a great job at reminding us the reader what happened in the last book, which is good because it has been some time since I read it and I had forgotten. But we soon catch up enough to enjoy this story. Shattered Circle is set over one night and so much happens that it feels like weeks pass by. However I got the feeling that because it is set over one night this book was like a filler and the main plot of the series didn't move on any. Johnny and Seph feature mainly in this instalment. Demeter (Seph's Nana) is one of my favourite characters and whilst she does feature she only has a short time in the book.
I really love this series and I really enjoyed Shattered Circle. I have one small complaint, which is why I am not giving 5 stars, and that is the jumping around in the story. I could be wrong here, but I thought the books were told in the first person from Persephone's pint of view. We still get Seph's POV but we also get the story in third person jumping from character to character and it did frustrate me when I was reading a particular good bit, to then go to a boring bit involving somebody else. However bearing that in mind I am still giving Shattered Circle 4.5 stars and roll on the next book please.
