Product Description

Pain.

That’s a word Bailey Winsor knows well, having endured it since she was a child from the people who were supposed to protect her. Just when her life appears normal, something Bailey has never experienced, she meets a man and falls in love.

Love can be deceiving.

Bailey jumps from the frying pan that was her childhood into the burning bowels of hell, which is her sick and twisted husband. It’s hopeless. Suffering more years of abuse, Bailey eventually realizes she has no choice but to run.

Forced to stop in a small town in Ohio, Bailey encounters a town full of people that welcome her with open arms, especially Jaxon Walker, the tattooed and pierced local bar owner. Bailey has secrets she’s unwilling to reveal. Jaxon senses her fear and refuses to give up trying to discover them.

Will Bailey be brave enough and learn to trust Jaxon with her deepest secrets? Will Jaxon be strong enough to protect Bailey when her past comes knocking at her door?

This is the first book I have read by Alex Grayson and I loved the story even though it broke my heart and mended back together.
Shatter me is gut wrenching, dark, tensions, anxiety, suspense and heartbreaking. I was full of emotions while reading including anger, hate, paranoia, pain, sorrow, tears, love and happiness.
I was so drawn to the characters and felt connected to their feelings. I absolutely love Bailey and Jaxon. They were both the light to each other darkness and helping each other to heal together. The ending brought tears to eyes with happiness. I'm looking forward to reading more of Alex Grayson books.

I don't even know where to start this first time author just blew me away. I loved the story. It's gritty and not for the feint hearted. The characters were real and I came away going I want the next book. Two books two days and they weren't quick reads they were the real deal.

This book was GREAT!!! I couldn't put it down. It made me cry, and a book hasn't done that to me in ages. Very highly recommended. But do take special note of the warning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark...Very Dark! 18 February 2015

This book is not for everyone. There's a lot of violence...the kind that makes your stomach heave. But, there is love, too.
Bailey tries to escape a monster. She does everything she can to save herself...but he keeps finding her. When she stops in a small town things start to change for her. She makes friends, she becomes part of a family ... she finally learns what love is.
But he always finds her and now it's not just her life that's at risk, but that of her new family too.
You are going to cringe.
You are going to curse...
And you will definitely cry.
Alex didn't glamorize violence like others do...but wrote the truth of what really happens out there and it was brutal.
4.0 out of 5 stars It an easy book to read 30 May 2017

I've read by this author in the past and the way she weaved a story I quickly became addicted to her writing. I was excited to read this series when I read the description.

Bailey broke my heart! Right from the start we get her story, so we're are not left wondering and all I can say is have tissue handy because this is. It an easy book to read.

Oh that sweet brute of a man Jackson! He was everything a girl could hope for! I don't want to spoil him but he was amazing! Strong, sweet, sexy, hard, soft..... I could like a million things and never do him justice. I really wish we had been able to be inside his head m!

The plot is about a woman overcoming her past, and I can say it wasn't an easy journey. There is very touch subject matter in this book, and the author wrote it very raw, but I get she did an amazing job with Baileys character, and how the hero helped he become me stronger.

Loved!!!!! All the secondary characters! I won't go into detail because there are more books to read, but I loved them and can't wait to see more of them and see more in depth about them.

My main issue with this book was the overuse of descriptive internal dialogue. It's not that it wasn't well written, because it was, but for ME, I like less internal more character interaction. That being said I still liked it and the author did paint a great picture with how she described things.

Overall, the story was heartbreaking yet so amazing. I look forward to seeing what's going to happen with the other characters that we have come to love! 4 stars #2OCCJD

This book blew my mind, I will be honest and say I was looking for something a bit different then what im use to reading, something that's not too sweet but has a second chance for love. I got much more than I bargained for in this book. This book is not for the faint-hearted. This book goes into graphic violent sexual and physical and mental abuse. I've read a lot of books and this one here just blew my mind. I could not only see the scene in front of me while I read, but I swear I could hear them I could feel what each character was feeling each painful word being thrown.
But this book is much more like I was saying when our main character Bailey runs from her husband, she runs into a town filled with amazing people, who love with their wholes hearts and they don't try to hide it. Bailey runs right into Jaxson, and at that point, the story of love and suspense just gets better. The whole book your routing for Bailey and Jaxson, to overcome her fears, and let him into her heart. This story breaks my heart, puts it back together, to only crack in the end but Im able to put a band-aid on it keep it from breaking any more. It was refreshing to read, at time hard to keep going, but so worth it in end! This book is for 18 and over and if you have suffered from any kind of abuse I would tread cautiously.

Skip the coffee, go straight for the wine and grab a box of tissues. Your going to need them. Alex Grayson’s debut novel Shatter Me will do just that. Shatter the reader to pieces, making them want more!

Bailey is a woman who has been to hell and back. Enduring an ugly past that keeps her looking over her shoulder. Layered with scars inside and out, Bailey runs to keep herself safe. Pain and fear are always near this sweet brunette. Bailey has the inner strength and the need to survive that will just call to your heart.
Jaxson has to be the sweetest Alpha man I have ever read. Tattooed and pierced, the man is sexy beyond belief. The violet blue eyes, they had me from the get-go. Jaxson has a colored past, but that will not stop him from protecting the girl in need.
This is one of those books where intense is not strong enough of the word. Shatter Me is emotional and almost too real! At times hard to read and pissed me off to no end. You can not read this book and not feel something. Shatter Me is one of the best debut novel I have read in a very long time. Ms. Grayson has powerful story telling voice! Pulling you in and over powering you. You will not know what hit you. How she is able to make her characters so real is beyond me, but don’t stop doing it! She writes them like the reader has to get to know them. Like real life mixing laughter with the tears. Passion, with gritty raw emotion will keep the pages turning of this 5 Star read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Heed the trigger warnings 9 March 2017

Heed the warnings - there are quite a bit of very graphic 'snippets' remembered by the h who was repeatedly abused by her husband.

That being said, the plot and writing are excellent. The h is clearly deeply troubled as one would expect. there is no magic cure - It takes time and effort to rebuild her trust. The H is outstanding and the developing love story is very very touching. The supporting characters are well described, interesting and well done.

This one is going to stick with me for a while. Be sure you have a chunk of time to devote to this one - its not the sort of book one reads 2 pages while waiting for something. It grabs your heart and sucks you in.
