Did this book give me hope about the situation in Israel, no quite the contrary. But I take my hat off to the author for continuing to hope against all odds and I'm grateful to get a better understanding of the suffering the Palestine people go through and the extremism on both sides that is like a poison with no antidote.
Whilst aware of the negatives that both societies reflect, Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish's writing indicates that there is more to the human spirit than evil and negativity and that there is possibility and promise even in the most dire and tragic situations.
I recommend " I Shall Not Hate" as an inspirational book and I would wish it to be widely read and discussed in these days of strife, bigotry and ignorance.
Our society cries out for bravery and positive action as Abuelaih states and provides.
