Product Description

When Hell's sexiest bad boy--Nicolai Valentine--defied Lucifer, he lost everything.

Now Heaven's fearless human warrior--Isabel Heart--has come to Nicolai's aid.

When the two meet...

A haunting past is reborn...

Isabel Godfroie Heart is a Paradisian Scholar-an immortal human trained in the ways of Heaven and Hell-who's suffering from memory loss. During her last battle, a dark force erased specific portions of her past life memories. Now she remembers little of times past, save for the fact she's a demon slayer mentored by the archangel Gabriel. When ordered to a new post to help translate a volume of ancient text from a forbidden verse, Isabel is forced to work with the dark prince Nicolai Valentine, a soul who may or may not be responsible for her memory loss. If only she didn't find the tempting creature so hard to resist...

Born to a fallen angel and a mortal mother, Nicolai Valentine is a prince of the Grigorcov, the children of the fallen sons of God. Searching for the lost chalice that will save his kin from eternal damnation, Nicky unknowingly unleashes the Hadean Virus, a dark entity targeting members of the Grigorcov. Now the entity has been unleashed on man's world and Nicky's in a race against time to find the antidote that will stop this deadly parasite. But in order to keep the Hadean virus from attacking again, Nicolai must enlist the help of Isabel Godfroie Heart, the Paradisian Scholar he was unable to save from the wrath of Hell centuries ago...

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than I expected 17 February 2012

I noticed that the reviews of this book are all 5 stars. I know that the book had to have some flaws but I decided to take a chance on it anyway. It was actually pretty good. It hooked you right from the first page. I mean I didn't see some of the twists that were coming. I mean I had an idea about one but it didn't actually turn out to be exactly the twist I thought it was. It was an excellent book. The only reason I knocked off 1 star (and it would have only been a half star if I had the option) was because I would have liked more of an ending. I felt like there were issues that were left hanging. I don't know if the author is going to turn this into a series or not but I would read them if there were more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it! 18 February 2012

I'm a lover of the gothic genre from . . . well, lets just say a long time so I don't have to get into my actual age! Although I'm not as big a fan of paranormal, I decided to dive in and give this book a read. I am glad I did! Ms. Armae does her research and I absolutely loved her ability to blend and weave a story around ancient teachings of angels and demons. Her heroine was strong and independent, something I love seeing in romance novels and her heroine was self-reliant but vulnerable in all the right ways. There were plenty of twists and turns in the plot that kept me guessing and a few that surprised me in a good way. A great read that I thoughly enjoyed . . . I just wish that it had lasted longer because I had originally planned to enjoy it over my vacation next week. But I got through it much too quickly!

4.0 out of 5 stars Satisfying read 12 April 2012
By Reading Rainbow - Published on Amazon.com

I enjoy reading about paranormal beings - usually Fae, Vamps and Werwolves- so I thought I'd try this book after reading the description and visiting the author's page. There's a brief video on the page which kind of hypes up the book with dramatic music which I thought was a little overboard. However, the book itself was a pleasant surprise and hooked me almost from the beginning. I love the interaction between Isabel and the various demons as well as Gabriel. The descriptive action scenes provide for lively reading although, the battles are sometimes too short. The twist on her relationship with Nicolai (who IS sexy as sin) was slowly revealed and was not altogether a surprise but, served as a means to pull you in and want to learn more about their past together.

Understanding that there are more books planned for the series(hope they don't take too long), I am not too upset that many loose ends were still untied by the end of the book. Just sets us up to learn more about the dynamics between Nicolai, his brothers, Simon, and Isabel and her brother Benedict's long history together. All-in-all, I was pretty satisfied with this installment.

5.0 out of 5 stars A match made in heaven and hell... 23 April 2012

This was an action, romance, double crossed packed book. So many ways the story took you through twists and turns. This book is a perfect heaven and hell match up. Isabel is a Paradisan scholar, an immortal human and is mentored by the Archangel Gabriel. She is sent on a mission to help a demon by the name of Nicolai whose uncle just so happens to be know other than Lucifer. Nicolai is trying to save his remaining family from the curse he accidentally unleashed that killed his wife and sons. She must help him translate an ancient text to put an end to the evil who wants to kill them all. They are drawn together and the chemistry is intense, but Nicolai secrets are many and they all lead back to Isabel. This book was like a cliff hanger at every turn, I loved it....
5.0 out of 5 stars Super Entertaining World of Heaven and Hell 30 March 2013
By bibliophile2011 - Published on Amazon.com

I found this book to be super entertaining and captivating. I did read the negative reviews prior to purchasing and I do see what they are saying about "formula" and not being surprised by events. I can totally see that but for me the delivery, characters, and the concept out weighted those two points. I looked at it not as a mystery but as a fantasy/suspense so there was no disappointment with being surprised by lack of sophisticated plot twists- I was just along for the ride. Could be too that I do not read a lot of this type of paranormal romance dealing with angels and demons (usually stick to plain ole vampires) so maybe that is why this seems so fresh and new to me and not cookie-cutter. Anyway could not put it down. Loved Nicolai and Isabel- great chemistry. Loved the plot and the world she created. Looking forward to reading more from this author! Thanks!
