Product Description

New York Times bestselling author Joanna Wylde returns to the world of the Reapers Motorcycle Club…

Looking back, none of this would’ve happened if I hadn’t dropped my phone in the toilet. I mean, I could’ve walked away from him if I’d had it with me.
Or maybe not.
Maybe it was all over the first time he saw me, and he would’ve found another way. Probably—if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that Shade always gets what he wants, and apparently he wanted me.
Right from the first.
Shade's Lady is a stand-alone story. There is no need to have read any prior Reapers MC stories to enjoy Shade's Lady.

Joanna Wylde has a natural style of writing that is flowing, communicative and perfectly paced. I absolutely loved Shade's Lady as I've loved the whole series, so far. Horse & Marie and Boonie & Darcy have been my favourite characters, now I'll happily add Shade & Mandy to the list).
Shade's Lady was a substantial novella that was delicious, wild, bawdy, raw, funny and dramatic. But the standout feature was Mandy McBride who was a wonderfully created character - all sassy, strong, honest hearted, principled and independent. Best of all Joanna gave her a hilariously dry sense of humour which was a gem (the Wonder Woman references were a hoot).
Gorgeous Mandy didn’t have a high opinion of herself (she saw herself as "...white trash with a push up bra...") and after enduring a hard life, she had sworn off men, recognising the McBride women's curse - a history of choosing bad men. She was secretly afraid of Shade, but drawn to him like a moth to light. Shade was a scary, handsome, dark, dangerous (a killer) ultra-alpha biker president. Mandy caught his eye, but rather than being the 'quick shag' type of woman he was used to, Mandy could go toe to toe with him and others, for that matter. To him, Mandy was memorable and that was new to the 'no ties' Reaper boss-man warrior. The pair came to an agreement: a one night stand that just so happened to go on and on...no chance of commitment, right?
Shade's Lady was mostly told through Mandy's POV, but we occasionally got to read Shade's, which was a bonus. The climax/conclusion grabbed my attention and was very satisfying.
I highly recommend Joanna's lastest Reaper's MC offering to her fans or readers who like an excellent biker narrative.

I was looking forward to this story. After all Shade is the national president of the Reapers. But I felt it lacked depth and was rushed. Nothing really interesting happened. Come on he's supposed to be the national president of a 1% biker club! Unlike Horse and Picnic's stories (which I loved 5 stars) this one felt like it happened in a tea cup with no where to go. Even the club house / area and club atmosphere was a complete let down. I felt the author let Shade down with the mediocre story and gelded him. I really began to wonder even why he was the national president? It felt like a fluff filler story between books. Such a waste of a potentially great character & story. Sorry to be so blunt but I do love my Reapers!!

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

My feelings reading Shade's Lady reminded me a lot of the first time I read the Reaper's Property, book 1 in this series. Shade's at times sexist attitude had me wanting to slap him even through I was loving him. It was so brilliant when Mandy lays down the law in relation to what she wants. Shade doesn't get it all his own way - at least not without working for it

Shade and Mandy embark on the longest one night stand in history and neither expect their liaison to last. They are a sexy, fun couple and I loved the way the story wrapped up. I hope we will get more Reapers books and soon. This is a series I never want to end.
