Product Description

Exotic locations, sexy men, and crazy crew parties… Ellie has her dream job… or does she?

When Ellie's fiancé cheats on her with a younger, slimmer, blonde from the office, she boots him out of her life and finds solace in a fabulous photography job aboard a Caribbean cruise ship. Twenty-four hours on board and she’s already shagged her sexy Texan colleague, who happens to love her muffin-top. Unfortunately he’s leaving in a week, and his ex-girlfriend, a hot-headed Brazilian with stripper moves right out of the 90s and a talent for stealing boyfriends, is still on board and out for revenge.

Ellie must work out how to deal with the loco ex, sort the lying scumbags from the good guys, and figure out how many crew members in a cabin it takes before officially becoming group sex. Who the hell knows? (It’s five, actually.) It’s a world completely unlike the one she left behind, but as she tries to find her place on board, Ellie discovers laughter and tears in equal measure. And in the midst of the craziness, she realises the greatest thing this lifestyle change has given her is the chance to rediscover herself.

I read about this book on a blog and I'm so glad I decided to buy it! I enjoyed it from start to finish. It's set on a cruise ship, and most of the characters are around my age, and they all felt pretty 'real', so the author obviously did a lot of work in bringing them to life. The pace is pretty fast most of the time, and the main character, Ellie, does say that cruise ship life goes at four times the speed of real life. Reading this book, if it's true, I can say that it must be a pretty insane environment to work in. I was pretty shocked at how people were sleeping around and cheating and lying - but the way it was written was so entertaining and engaging. Even though the main character gets lied to and pretty heartbroken, it's still written in a lighthearted way. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for a fun, quick, read which will have you giggling to yourself throughout!

Absolutely loved this book. When you dive into the first few pages and realise an hour later that 'oh, that's right I'm on a plane going to Sydney', I think that's a good indication of how damn good it is!
Very easy to read, takes you places I have never thought about going to and takes you back to your twenties when all you want is gossip, flirting, tanning and of course lots of drama
Has seriously made me consider packing my bag and working on a cruise, mainly so I can make some friends and move to New York :)
This book is being read by the third person I have passed it on to and they are loving it. Highly recommended!
Can't wait for the sequel Chapman!

A friend of mine read this and recommended it as the best book she'd read this year. I have to say I was pretty darn impressed! Very funny, believable characters, and a few pretty steamy sex scenes!! Some of those scenes were also funny though, because the main character is telling the story and she has this clever British humor. She describes her intimate moments in an entertaining way sometimes because these things can be awkward - and I found myself laughing at her way of expressing things. Great beach read or cosy, tucked-up-in-bed read. I'll be recommending it to my other friends now!

I really enjoyed reading Cathryn Chapman's first book. She has written a fun story about a girl making some big changes in her dull life. The main character, Ellie, was totally unaware of what she was getting herself into and found out the hard way what life can throw at a naive, young, inexperienced female in an environment full of testosterone driven males! A light read about a girl who is learning a lot about life outside her bubble. I laughed and groaned and laughed again at what Ellie and her friends got up to!

I have been on a few cruises & it makes me wonder what really goes on behind the scenes away from the passengers. And with beautiful young crew members, only the mind makes you wonder especially when the crew has to sleep & share areas.
I really enjoyed this book I would highly recommend it. Good on you Cathryn

I loved this book. Easy to read, fun, flirtatious and sexy. Light entertainment that allows you to live vicariously through someone else's escapades, experiencing a life not many of us have been able to do.
Really enjoyed it 👍🏻

As a basketball playing, masculine kind of guy, I wouldn't normally read this kind of book, but one of my cousins told me I should give it a try because even though it is written mostly for women, it's really entertaining and gave insight into working on cruise ships because the author once worked on them - and I've often wondered about what they'd be like. She was right, I really got into it and read it in a few days! To be honest, I did like the sex scenes (what guy doesn't?)- a few of them caught me off guard with being pretty crazy, but none of them were that tacky rubbish I've heard about recently. This is a great book and not just for women!

It's fun to read women's fiction with a bit of sass and steamy scenes sometimes, but some of the more 'adult' stuff I've read in the past hasn't always been particularly well written. This book definitely has some sexy content - but it's written in a way that doesn't make you cringe. Very engrossing book which I've recommended to my book club to read later this year. I think this is a new author, so it's always good to read the work of fresh talent. She has done a great job writing this book and it's also really well edited, which is something I always notice. Maybe don't let your Grandma read it, but definitely take it on vacation with you!
