I really liked this box set so much that I finished it one sitting, I only stopped reading when I had to eat or take a moment. Having all three books in this box set meant that I just kept reading instead of looking for the next one especially since I the first book ends with a cliffhanger. The books all consist of 20 chapters, the characters are well drawn and the story is executed well. I read this book as one of my Kindle Unlimited choices and recommend it for adults due to the sex and violence that occurs throughout the trilogy.

In book 1 we are introduced to Solomon Brandt when he emerges naked on a white Arabian stallion named Excalibur after the pavement explodes. He has no memory of who he is nor does he know where he is; he does know that he is in pain, thirst and very hungry. Confronted by angry construction workers who are both threatening and demanding he takes off on Excalibur when the police arrive realizing that he is in danger even if he does not know why or how. After traveling through the woods for what seems like hours Excalibur leads them to a stream where they both slacken their parched throats and meet Melba. Melba is of African descent and is afraid when she sees a large, naked white man on a large white horse on her property but Melba isn’t as helpless as she seems and she has protection that although Solomon doesn’t realize it he desperately needs her protection.

Since I don’t want to give the entire story away I won’t go into any more details but urge readers to read the series for themselves.

Book 2 picks up where the first one left off, the demon is determined to get control of Solomon/Simon so he can live again. To protect Melba he has moved out into a pay weekly motel of a friend of hers and she has secured new ID and a job for him. The demon manages managed to capture Excalibur which gives him additional powers in this world until the can gain a physical body and Solomon his determined to save his beloved horse and the people that he has come to love from the demon, even if it means he must die himself. Desiree’s godmother, Celeste is a witch who practices the foulest forms of black magic and aids the demon in capturing Desiree forcing him to make a terrible decision to save her life. Celeste has many secrets which unfold and Desiree will need to learn about her abilities to defeat her so she help free those he loves and maybe help save both herself and the man she has fallen in love with.

Book 3: After the cliffhanger of book 2 and his meeting the three priestesses Solomon finds himself dragged through Madeline Jacobs’ grave as he attempts to rescue the woman he loves. He has no idea where he has arrived, if they will be able to return once he finds her; he only knows that he would rather die than live life without Desiree and Amon and the Madeline aren’t the only ones they face danger from.
I really enjoyed this series and finished it within a few hours after the New Year began.

4.75/5 STARS: **I read this novel using a selection from my Amazon Unlimited subscription; the review reflects my honest opinions.**
