If you like paranormal romance generally, and read authors like feehan, showalter, ward, kenyon, you will love this book. this is the second book in the doomsday bretheren series. its filled with magic fantasy erotic scences, love and loss. and it has a substantial word count so you'll enjoy it.

I'm not normally an avid reader of this type of book, but wow! In the space of a week I've now read the series so far. I can't wait for the next book. Best to read them in order (this is the second in the series) but easy enough to pick up the underlying story line as I did.

NOUVELLE DIMENSION AU PAYS DES MAGICIENS
Reviewed in France on 2 September 2010Verified Purchase

Couldn’t finish due to author’s constant reiteration of the characters’ stakes
Reviewed in the United States on 11 December 2019Verified Purchase
Let me just say I love the world Black has created here, but the book could be 30,000 words shorter if readers weren’t told during every POV change how much the character was suffering while reiterating the stakes or consequences if not just one thing occurred, but multiple things. Black must believe her readers have awful memories for her to remind us of the very situation a character they’ve been reading about for half a book is in, the lousy decisions they have, what could go wrong and what that would mean, what could go right and what that would mean . . . Does she expect readers to start reading in the middle of the book? Does she think they have five minutes memories? Because that’s how she writes. When readers are in the middle of reading a book, they don’t need to be reminded MULTIPLE TIMES what’s going on. I’m disgusted by it as I write this.
Also, the heroines in book one and two seem to be allergic to logic and they sorely lack common sense. One might wonder if Black’s portrayal of these women fits how she thinks most women are. And what human can have sex for two days straight without bodily needs getting in the way?
What really irks me is I could go on with my complaints, but if I decided to finish the book I know I’d at least partly enjoy it. But my brain can only take so many “sins” from an author, and Black has surpassed my limit.
