The Season One Omnibus of The Agatha Witchley Mysteries: SECRETS OF THE MOON

Because sometimes, insanity and genius are indistinguishable...

Agatha Witchley used to be a spy in the Cold War, but now she's locked up in the UK's premier maximum-security mental institution. She believes that the ghosts of the celebrity dead visit her padded cell and whisper the world's secrets in her ears. Which is a big problem for the British government, because she's the only one who can help them when an American billionaire is murdered in London in one of the strangest killings yet.

The Home Secretary needs the case locked down and solved before the entrepreneur’s death becomes public knowledge and economic chaos ensures.

The woman he has in mind for the job might be paranoid, she might be lethal, she might half-insane and drawing a pension, but it's amazing how you can forgive that in a genius when it's a genius's help you need.

Yes, the security forces need Agatha Witchley again. It's just the ghosts of Churchill, Elvis and Groucho Marx they could do without.

Praise for Stephen Hunt's novels:

‘Compulsive reading for all ages.’

‘Studded with invention.’

‘Hunt has packed the story full of intriguing gimmicks… affecting and original.’

‘An inventive, ambitious work, full of wonders and marvels.’

‘Hunt's imagination is probably visible from space. He scatters concepts that other writers would mine for a trilogy like chocolate-bar wrappers.’

‘Hunt knows what his audience like and gives it to them with a sardonic wit and carefully developed tension.’

'A swaggering, eye-filling, brain-swizzling extravaganza!'

'Readers will be entertained and captivated.'

Great book. I originally read these as the three separate novellas and enjoyed them immensely. It works even better as a book with the improved continuity. The formidable Agatha Witchley, who seems an amalgam of Miss Marple, Emma Peel from the Avengers and the little boy in the sixth sense, is the undoubted star of the book. I found this very readable and great fun to read, and very very hard to put down!

5.0 out of 5 stars Secrets of the moon is a rollicking good read! 18 August 2015

Secrets of the moon is a wonderful mix of characters and genres. The main focus is on the character Agatha Witchley, who most of the outside world sees as quite the “nutter”. But the Office sees her as a necessary resource and frees her to prevent the Bond-like, super villain apocalyptic plan from reaching its conclusion. Along the way you meet a widely mixed bunch of agents and their leader who serve to give the story twists and turns that keep you reading. Each of the characters has a mysterious background and the interaction between them makes for a great read as their details start to come together. Stephen Hunt has woven a fine action story and quite worth the purchase! I’ll never look at another tea set quite the same.

I'm looking forward to the next release.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast paced & action packed 16 July 2015

A great plot, believable characters, and just the right amount of twists and turns. Scenes are set up well enough that you can picture the surroundings but not overdone to the point of being too much. The characters take on a life of their own as you get to know each one of them. It has murder mystery, spy action, sci-fi, paranormal….what more could you ask for between two covers. A very well written story that will appeal to many different readers. I look forward to reading more of Mr. Hunts work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Action tha never stops... 6 July 2015

Stephen Hunt has crafted an exciting good read:part Bond, part X Files, and a generous dash of snark. Agatha Witchly is a character that Doyle would be jealous to have and he's probably told her so on many occasions. Pick this book up when you have the time to read it - you won't be putting it down.
