Product Description

Beckett Henry doesn’t believe in giving or receiving Christmas presents. Growing up in a poor family, he’s had to see the guilt on his parents faces every year when they couldn't provide him and his brother the fancy toys the other kids received. Not to mention the teasing from the other kids every January. The only bright spot of the holidays was when Asher Holden visited them and they all played together without any toys.

Asher is his brother's best friend and they'd all grown up in the same neighborhood. He's had a crush on the other man since puberty, but he's never had the guts to say or do anything about it. Now, Asher is the owner and CEO of Holden Marketing, the company Beckett works for, and a relationship between them will never happen. Not only have they been friends for too many years, but there is a strict company policy against inter-office dating. He couldn’t imagine what they’d say if their CEO dated the creative manager’s P.A.

With the Christmas season fast approaching, Beckett is getting ready to get the following weeks over and done with when he gets a surprise—a Secret Santa present arrives on his doorstep! As more presents start to arrive, Beckett struggles to figure out who could be sending them, or what to do with them.

Will Beckett be ready when his Secret Santa is unveiled?

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick to read, cute story 30 December 2015

I see that a reviewer is complaining about the grammar errors in this book. I am usually bothered by grammar errors; I don't know why but my brain just seems to instantly find them. I was not overly bothered by any mistakes in this book, although I could tell it was written by a non-native US dweller. No biggie, though.

I thought this was an adorable story! Beck and Ash are really sweet. Two decent MCs. I LIKE that in a story.

Beck hasn't seen his brother's childhood best friend for years, but he takes a job at Ash's company. There is a little office drama here, a little bit of office politics, but nothing too dramatic. It' just really mostly cute.

You do have to suspend belief at times, because Beck is a smart dude but doesn't figure out who, oh who is the rich dude who sent him the Rolex and the Ferrari? Hmmmm, how many rich dudes do you know, Beck? OH WELL, doesn't matter. Beck's not a fan of gift giving, but does come to understand that gifts convey more than just, "Hey, I wanted you to have this item."

There is a bit of byplay between Beck and his brother, and of course between Beck and Ash. And it's well written, cute dialogue. :) I enjoyed that Ash knows Beck's mom, too. They have a HISTORY.

I enjoyed this one quite a lot. I hope you do as well.
5.0 out of 5 stars The Heart is Priceless 4 December 2015

I loved this book. It reminds me of a fairy tale, except it's not a poor girl meeting and marrying a prince, but a used to be poor boy reuniting with a childhood friend who is now a billionaire.

The main character of Beckett is great. I loved his zest for his ideals and his pride gets him into funny situations. I even loved the character of his brother Zac who is very outspoken and just tells Beckett like it is whether he likes it or not. Asher, the love interest, is this big, powerful, and demanding rich guy who has a wonderful sensitive heart.

The main setting of the story is Beckett's job. The setup was spot on with the typical hard knox boss.

The only thing I wish would have been included in this story is the time frame of when Beckett and Asher declared their love for each other and Christmas Day. During that seven day period I would have loved to have seen what happened at Becketts work. How Beckett and Asher handled their relationship and the gossiping that would have been going on and how Becketts boss would have reacted.

I do highly recommend this book. This is a wonderful story and the characters are really well developed. I look forward to more books from this author.

I received this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review from Inked Rainbow Reads.
3.0 out of 5 stars cute christmas read 4 December 2015

this was a sweet christmas story. i liked the thoughts behind the secret santa presents and their meaning. i liked beckett a lot. he is adorable and a bit snarky and a little bit naive. asher can be sweet at times but he's also a bit abrasive and hard to take. by the end of the story, i think he's a good guy but it took a while to get there.

there are a couple of big lessons in the book: 1) as the beatles said "can't buy me love"; although once we find out the meaning behind the gifts they mean so much more; and 2) sometimes you have to open your heart and mind to new things so you can fully experience life. beckett was a bit close minded about giving and receiving presents because of past experiences which blinded him to the meaning behind the gifts.

the story seemed a bit rushed - even for a novella - and the dialog at times was a bit immature. if you take it for what it is - a cute christmas story that's fun and will put you in the gift giving mood - you will really like it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great holiday season read 5 December 2015

Great holiday season read. What I loved about Beck is he wasn't a pushover and stood up for his beliefs, despite him working for his brother's best friend, the bossy and handsome Ash (and who doesn't love a cocky, alpha male?). It was great learning about their history together, uncovering little snippets about their relationship when they were children. Beck begins getting to know Ash again, and despite his objection to the whole gift giving thing, receives more than one secret Santa gift. The gifts appear extravagant, but looking deeper are anything but. I always know I enjoy a story when I get to the end and want more.
4.0 out of 5 stars My a secret Santa billionaire is a fun, light 4 December 2015

My a secret Santa billionaire is a fun, light, holiday read. I love a good rags to riches story and combine that with childhood friends meeting up and rediscovering their attraction and you have me hooked. This book has a few minor plot holes but it'll put a smile on your face and a jingle in your Christmas bells so why not indulge. It's the season for fun, happy novellas and Meg Bawden gives you exactly that.
