This book is brilliant and has inspired me to get a pen pall but is Rebecca's totally friendly. Brilliant and recommended to Algiers that love an adventure. Hope you find my comment helpful.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Three words: better than Blyton. This is the second last book in series. Start with First Term at Trebizon and enjoy.

Really good books in the Trebizon series
Reviewed in the United States on 25 November 2014Verified Purchase
In this Trebizon series, I skipped from the summer school one-which was fantastic fun-to this later one in the series. (Will go back to the earlier ones.)
It is about taste as I don't like field hockey or lacrosse, so my interest flags a bit when the books focus on those sports. However, the summer term book was great and the sports were tennis and surfing. What a school!
In this book, the girls are focusing on mock exams, boyfriends and going to France. The letters are letters from her (Rebecca's) parents, boyfriend and her French pen-pal-and someone is going through them.
The school is beautiful and it is set in parkland. Even more magical really, is that the school and parkland are in Cornwall. Beautiful surroundings, good teachers, super curriculum, high expectations-safety wisdom, support and encouragement provided along the way. (The downside to reading these books is that you could sit and compare it all to the schools you got.)
Wholesome books and not at all like a lot of teenage stuff now. These school girls are plugging away at their school studies with an eye to their future careers. They are competitive, intelligent, likeable girls who like challenges.
