I'm confused ...
the H had been cheated on ... was that "three years ago" or "last year"? The beginning of the book stated three years, then later in the book, it states last year?
the H (finally) thinks to himself, he needs to confront the antagonist. So what happens next, you are asking? Well, I wish I could tell you. The reader doesn't know! Nothing else is ever said again! This book needs a good editor.
Sam Wylde and his partner Caleb Daughtry are about to release a new brand of Tennessee whiskey on the market Wyldefire is their pride and joy from their new distillery they have built from the ground up but things aren't going to plan. His cousin Noah has recently broken up with his girlfriend Cassie and she was the PR person doing their launch partyand now she has pulled out to top that off his girlfriend Jane has cheated on him with his brother Grady. With so much going on his his life he manages to cut off another car for a parking spot and meets Holly she is also in PR and takes over the launch of his whiskey. When Jane and Grady decide to get married Sam needs a partner to take to the wedding and offers Holly a deal act as his wife and he will see her right. But what happens when pretends starts to feel oh so real
I was given a copy of this book but this is a true and honest review
Sam is succeeding in his professional life, he is putting in the hard work and is going to make a name for himself; his personal life not so much. After being burned by his brother and now ex girlfriend he is cautious and steers clear of everything relating to the situation. When a disagreement over a parking spot paves the way for his launch and filling the spot of fake partner in crime. When the lines blur and its moves from fake to real are they able to find their way?
Sam is instantly attracted to Holly; little does he know is that she knows exactly who he is and she has been holding a high school girl crush for years.
Robinson is a new to me author, I am excited to read more from this series.

*Below are unavoidable SPOILERS* - I’m unable to avoid talking about them in this review as I need to do so in order to explain why I didn’t like the book.
This was supposed to be light entertainment with a happy and romantic ending. In Robinson’s attempts to create character depth, I felt the author was lazy in the creation of motivations. I struggled with Robinson's plot points around Holly's background. I felt the car accident, her parents’ deaths and the sister's coma was somewhat of a cheap shot. In a crime or thriller, I think it could have been fitting. While I understand that Holly’s financial pressures were necessary for Robinson's plot line, in these modern times, I think it is smacks of situational coercion that is dated and unnecessary where you can choose less harmful tropes when you’re trying to write a romance. I also don’t feel that insurance fraud, even for the best of reasons, is particularly sexy or romantic. The speed at which they fell for each other then felt artificial.
The story became even more disturbing when Robinson choose to fridge Suzie when she was no longer necessary as a motivational trope, and she got feedback from readers that they wanted to know if she survived. It was a further disappointment for me that killing her off was Robinson's attempt to resolve the emotional tension, and quite frankly salt in the wound. I dislike female victims acting as a plot device more than a real character, especially those who are never given agency or depth. It's especially disheartening in female authors. Some of the side characters and penned banter were welcome light relief but it was not enough to change my overall opinion of the book. I will not be reading more of this author.

The leading characters Sam and Holly were heading somewhere great but as a reader I never got there. The author lead us to important events in the story and never resolved them. Her whole family was in a horrific car crash that killed both her parents and Holly severely burned. She tattooed over some of the scarring so they wouldn't be so noticeable. She slept with Sam a lot and neither never mentioned them. Holly's sister was in the hospice in a coma for a few years we don't know if she survived her emergency surgery? Her hospice care was one of the reason for getting married to help each other out emotionally and financially.
Believe it or not it wasn't the writing because I smiled even had some ahhh moments. I loved the awesome supporting characters and the dialogue. Overall in the end I didn't have closure. It was like pages were missing.

Sam Wylde is starting up Wyldefire Whiskey and is looking for an event planner to help out, all the while trying to mend his heart from his brothers’ betrayal. Holly Glen just so happens to be an event planner that really could use the money that Sam is offering for a last-minute job and the person he needs to help pull off a fake marriage.
While the marriage starts out as a fake one…feelings turn out to be real AND quick. Both Sam and Holly are trying hard not to fall in love, but fate has another thing in mind. Once again, it’s a quick read with some very entertaining secondary characters…like Grandma and her new husband. I think she needs her own book!
Will have to go down a star as there were full sentences that were repeated/appeared in a few chapters – not sure if that was on purpose? Or missed in the editing process. Maybe Ms. Robinson needs to go through this book again to give a look see.

Sam Wylde is getting ready to launch Wyldefire Whiskey and he needs someone to plan the biggest event anyone has seen. In steps Holly Glen. Well, she doesn't step in, she steals his parking spot and proceeds to scold him for driving distracted. Sam doesn't believe what he is hearing, she knows him but he can't remember her. When he finds out what she does for a living, he knows he needs her.
Holly owns her own event planning company and she is good at it. Sam wants her to plan the launch of Wyldefire Whiskey and she is ready and knows she can do it.
As Sam and Holly grow closes, he proposes a deal that will benefit them both. Can she accept the deal without falling for him? Can Sam trust her and not let his past interfere with their relationship?
I enjoyed this story but I really wanted to slap Sam's brother upside the head with a 2x4. Looking forward to reading more of this series.
