Product Description

From New York Times bestselling author Kelly Elliott comes the gut-wrenching story of a love that transcends all odds—and transforms the deepest pain into the brightest hope.
Firefighter and first responder Preston Ward thought he had grown immune to the job’s emotional burns. But when he goes out on a particularly tragic call, he realizes that some scenes are too devastating to forget. And yet, if it weren’t for that terrible night, he never would have met the woman who makes him want to risk his heart.
More than once, Harmony Banks has watched her perfectly ordered world torn apart by fate. Now she’s finding out that what she lost wasn’t as perfect as she thought—and it’s tearing her apart. The only thing that keeps her going is the kindness of a stranger: the firefighter who saved her life the night everything changed.
Preston isn’t like the men who have come before. For one thing, he’s far more genuine. And the love Harmony feels growing between them is almost too intense for her wounded soul. But if she and Preston can push past heartbreak, they’ll find that something incredible awaits in each other’s arms.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome book! 13 July 2016

I was given this book for an honest review. In my honest opinion, this book is awesome. It had be in tears & on edge at the very beginning. I didn't want Harmony & Preston's story to end.

Harmony finds herself having to go through a hell that no one should have to see or endure. As fate would have it, Preston is there to see her through it from the beginning. I really love both of them. They are just good for each other. Can I just say that Preston is awesome. He's everything I would want in a man. I mean who doesn't love firemen?

Watching Harmony let her walls down & let Preston in was amazing. Everything was going way too good, though. All hell breaks loose when Harmony learns secrets of her past. Can Harmony & Preston survive the secrets of the past? My heart broke for Harmony. I really wanted to reach in & give her a big hug.

I would highly recommend this book. It's a love story of second chances & perseverance.

5.0 out of 5 stars ~ 5 Finding Your Harmony Stars ~ 12 July 2016

“ Every Princess deserves her Happily Ever After. Follow your heart.”

This sentence sums up what Searching For Harmony was all about. This was a book about tragic loss, healing, and moving on.

As always I love anything Kelly Elliott writes. She is always able to give us a story that is full of emotion, love and romance. I have to say that I felt this book is one of her most emotional books yet. She had tears coming to my eyes in the beginning of the story, but don’t fret… the end of the book I had a huge smile on my face.

Even though this storyline was fairly predictable, I found the characters so engaging that I couldn’t put the book down and couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I truly devoured this book!!! Kelly has this great ability in her writing that sucks the readers in and you feel like you are a part of the story. You can’t help but feel what the characters are feeling and you can’t help but root for them to get their HEA.

In this book we follow the healing journey of both Harmony and Preston. Both characters are in their early 20’s in this book, but Harmony’s story starts when she was 17 and just finishing her high school career. She was dating Trey but had decided to end things when she found out she was pregnant. Doing the right thing Trey and Harmony get married and raise their son together, until one fateful day a tragic accident happens and Harmony loses everything. What she didn’t know that day was fate had another plan for her. This is where Preston came into the picture. Preston is a firefighter and was one of the first responders for Harmony’s accident. What happens at that accident changed both Harmony and Preston’s lives forever. Will these two people be able to pull themselves together and heal?? You’ll have to read the book to find out.

I thought Kelly’s flow and pacing of the story was great. I enjoyed that she had Preston and Harmony become friends and it wasn’t an instant attraction/love situation. These two were both broken in their own way that I truly believed they needed to work things out first before going forward together. I loved how they were able to lean on each other when they needed someone. Another thing about this book I liked a lot was that there wasn’t a lot of outside factors in their way. Yes there was that one character Kelly always gives us that we love to hate (Sherry) but she didn’t stir up drama like we usually see in Kelly’s books. That was quite refreshing.

So if you’re looking for that emotional love story about loss and healing, this is the book to read. Searching For Harmony is a standalone novel, but I am kind of hoping she writes a book for Preston’s siblings. I think they could have interesting stories!!! As I have said before….this is another GREAT read from Kelly.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Real Love 15 July 2016

This was a really great book. Harmony Banks found out that she was pregnant right before she and her boyfriend Trey were graduating from high school. Her parents gave her an ultimatum either have an abortion or she had to move out with no help from them. She and Trey got married and had TJ. One horrible night, Harmony, Trey, and TJ are in a car accident and both Trey and TJ are killed and she survives. Preston Ward who is a Firefighter and he was the first response to the crash. He does everything he can to save the baby but is unable to.

Harmony has a pretty tragic history. The only real family she had before Trey and TJ was her brother. Her parents were not loving and they only stick around for things they want and she was never really part of that. Starting over with Trey and TJ, she was fine with it because she loved her baby and wanted to give him a good life. Now, losing both her husband and son at the age of 20 is almost more than she can take. But she realizes that she is much stronger than she thought she was. She also finds out some things about her relationship and husband. She has a strange connection to Preston but she doesn't understand it.

Preston has been a firefighter for years but he never lost a child before until TJ. He feels immense guilt over it and wanted to save him but was unable to. He also feels this crazy connection with Harmony. He's been with his girlfriend Sherry for 2 years but he couldn't see himself marrying her. No one in his family or friends likes her because she's a user and only out for herself. He's trying to be a friend to Harmony but he can't stop his attraction and draw toward her.

Definitely worth reading.

I received an ARC for an honest review. What to say about this book…. Let me first say that I was a little nervous to read a book about a city close to where I live. I am always nervous about these types of books especially when the author is not from this area. Are they going to get the information right? Will they show what the city is about…with Searching for Harmony, Kelly took care of all those worries. She represents the city of Boston amazingly and gets the little nuances perfect from Comm. Ave to Newbury Street.
The Characters from this book are amazing and hit you right in the core from the very moment you are introduced to them. Harmony is a strong woman who is faced with so much heartache at such a young age and is able to preserve with her family and with Preston. She is someone that you will fall in love with even though her favorite baseball team leaves something to be desired lol.
Preston makes you want to be hosed down with a fire hose. He meets your idea of a hot fireman to to a “T”. He also shows a different side of a firefighter. He shows the emotion and care that firemen have for the people they help. You just can’t help but fall in love with him.
So if you are looking for a great book that starts with a bang, and take you on an emotional roller coaster, settle in on the couch with this and you will not disappoint.
