This one wasn't for me. Story line spoiler ahead..... It just was too unrealistic regarding Shannon being so in love with TJ barely 2 months after her husband died who, she also apparently loved. No real build up of why they had feelings for each other. Why did TJ love Shannon so much and vice versa? The sexual intimacies after just having an emergency caesarean were also far from realistic. I know this is supposed to take readers out of their own mundane life but seriously there needs to be a touch of realism. This love just didn't cut it for me, sorry.

this story made me cry, poor tj. this has everything, love, death, action, babies. its quite emotional to read from the beginning but very good, the ups and downs for both tj and Shannon. very true to real life and the on going battles that our soldiers face in the world today. well researched and written

View all my reviews
Enjoyed this overall. I didn't like Shannon at wedding. Waspish, controlling, overbearing which is a strange partner for a SEAL. She seemed to do 180 after traumatic event. Was put off a bit by TJ's tears throughout book. Some really good bits at beginning, middle so so due to all the introspection. Last third good with all the action. As others mentioned, perturbed she had sex within week of giving birth by emergency caesarian (due to pre eclampsia that became eclampsia as she fitted?). Incision goes all way inside. Uterus is cut & stitched up. Drain in. Sex would risk splitting internal stitches, bleeding, damaging an already traumatised uterus. I had that op under same circumstances, in hospital 8 days. Besides that issue, I did enjoy it and would re-read.
I absolutely love this series and even though I'd read TJ and Shannon's story in a box set this was even better because it expands on the original. It has some hear breaking moments in it but even then the love the seal team has for each other and the love of family is still there so it's very touching. There was nothing about this book I don't love apart from the fact t it had to end, I'm just glad I've got a couple more to read waiting on my kindle . This is a series that I fall more in love with every time a new book comes out and its also one that I have read a few times and I know I will one reading them all again.
Another great story in the series from Sharon. These guys resist commitment until they meet their match and then they're all in. Get into as much trouble in their downtimes as the do when on tour. These guys are heroes of that there is no doubt. Story makes you aware of the dangers faced on home turf by our servicemen and women. Loved it. Good humour and great value for money. Fantastic characterization of the story.
Sorry, for me, this was absolute rubbish but because I purchased 4 of these books, I laboured through all 4 with not one scrap of enjoyment :-( I thought they were poorly written, with the story lines being the same sort of rubbish, just using different names. When did they allow partners/friends/family to blab about them being SEAL's? Needless to say, I won't be wasting my money or reading, anymore of these books. Hugely disappointed
