Was suppose to be new , Not recertified ( refurbished ).
Worse it arrived dead, possible damaged through transit. HDD Kept on quietly stopping repeatedly.
Not registering on 2 systems and 1 computer is brand new.
Very likely miss head alignment.
IT's a shame though. Ho well better luck next time.
Hopfully I can get refunded, we'll see.
Performance in other areas is okay.

I bought this because, well, I needed additional space. It's really sad nowadays we only have more or less two brands to choose from and this being one of 'em. Anyway, below are the [partial] tech specs for those who are interested. The extended self-test took roughly 17 hours. Also keep in mind that drives (8TB and above) does run a bit hotter than the small ones and heat is the nemesis for all magnetic drives so be sure you have sufficient cooling. Ideally, these drives should be kept below 35-40°C.

The drive has onboard software that reports bytes read and written and extra stats which I havent looked into. My QNAP 451+ can read this data.
When my older drives die eventually I will replace them all with this, highly recommended.
UPDATE: after ordering I have noticed that is quite a bit more noisy than the WD hard drive it replaced. Not a big deal just means I have to close the door where my NAS is located.
UPDATE 2: the drive has started to rattle. It claims it's healthy. Not sure out the drive long term. Dropped another star.
UPDATE 3:
6 months in. no issues.:)
