Expensive ‘book’ in the long run.Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 April 2019
excellent read but way too short considering Terry Goodkind’s other books that I have collected in the past. I feel that I paid £5.95 for a chapter, and the next books are more expensive. Highly disappointed with the pricing structure, I would compare this marketing ploy alongside the likes of ‘micro transactions’ with modern games. They seem to cost a reasonable amount to start yet add up immensely once you are hooked. Seriously stay away unless you like paying chapter by chapter! One extra star due to the quality of the storytelling.

It’s a chapter, not a short story.Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 May 2019
Whilst I enjoyed the book, I was disappointed to find it’s just a chapter, not a complete short story. I’ll not be sucked into buying 5-7 little books that would make up one standard offering for 3 x the price! A barely concealed marketing ploy by the publishers to get more money out of his fans. I’m surprised that Terry signed up for this.

To Me It's Only A Quarter Of A BookReviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 April 2019
As a book in it's own right, it's up there with all the other books i have read from Terry Goodkind. And i have all the Sword of truth series, Even the sister of darkness series up till now. My problem was and perhaps it's my fault not really not being knowledgeable about the term Novelette. To me it's only a quarter of a book; to read the whole story i will need to buy at least four Novelettes. I am used to this author telling a story and at least finishing the episode in one book. As much as i love Terry Goodkind novels, i am not going to buy Four novelettes to read one story.I have already booked and prepaid for the second novelette.so there is nothing i can do about that, but i won't buy any more.Very expensive to read the whole series.

Good but shortReviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 April 2019
Almost a short story compared to most of the Richard and Kahlan stories go. If all five books are the same length as the first they would just about equal one volume of the original stories. It might make me think it's a cynical attempt to get more money out of us.

How annoyingReviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 April 2019
I had sworn off Terry goodkinds books after warheart. And the quality of his other books that he had set in this world had left me feeling that something was missing. So having decided not to buy any more of his books I stumble across this and its great so annoying I will of course have to buy the rest because he has sucked me in once again
