This excellent book has been let down by a publisher (Vintage Books)that should have done better. The faults are a) it is the wrong size-should have been bigger b)A book of this excellence should have a hard cover not a very very soft cover that is totally inadequate for 500 plus pages c) the type size should have been bigger.
The book deals with the history o the Black Death (plague) in the British Isles from 1348-51 There are 10 chapters that deal with the disease chronologically ,2 chaprets are devoted to conditions leading up to the disease outbreak and a further 2 chapters deal with post plague recovery and smaller later out breaks.
A magnificent book a shame about its presentation
