Another great book in the Top Shelf series. This time around we meet Victor Drayton and the famous Drayton Dolls. Being one of the owners of Spiked Roses is how Victor meets his newest Doll, Ivy. After losing her job at Spiked Roses Ivy is given a lifeline by Victor, become his newest Doll, see the world as part of his live art installation and be set for life. How can a young woman down on her luck possibly refuse. The Dollhouse is more than Ivy could ever have imagined, opening her eyes, body and heart to things she didn't know she wanted. And she's not the only one. So jump into this well written tale told by Ivy & Victor of the ups and downs they and the famous Drayton Dolls face. While I did enjoy this story it didn't grab me as much as the previous books but it won't stop me from finding out what Spiked Roses has to offer next.
I was so excited to get my hands on this book! The blurb and that cover hooked me! I wanted it and couldn’t wait until it landed on my Kindle. I dove right into the story and read it in one sitting. The story was well written and intriguing.
The world that Victor Drayton created with his dolls was fascinating and I wanted to read more, wanted to know what happened. However, along the way something happened, to make me lose interest; the dark, twisted, taboo world suddenly didn’t work. I struggled to feel the connection between Ivy and Victor…actually with any of the characters. This story had so much potential for more but in the end it just left me feeling let down.
It was easy to follow and I didn’t feel like I was missing anything from not reading the previous stories. It was a good story but I just wanted more.
This is the latest in the Spiked Roses series and they have all been completely standalone, so don't worry if you haven't read the previous. This story intrigued me. I was equally drawn to it and creeped out by it. In the end the story is outstanding and like nothing I've read before. I was surprised at how much I liked the characters and look forward to the next in the series.
Ivy was happy working at Spiked Roses and supporting her family from afar She is devastated when she is sacked for abusing a workplace rule One of the directors hires her to become a doll in his extensive collection There is intrigue ,emotion action all woven into a well told story A great addition to an impressive series
