Product Description

Filled with suspense and breath-taking urban fantasy action, the Sidhe series is a gripping story with rich language and cinematic action.

For ages, Donovan has been an elite Unseelie assassin, working alone to hunt down the enemies of his Court. His main rival, Lugh - Champion of the Sidhe, has defended the Seelie Court against all who would oppose it, including Donovan.

An ultimate betrayal strips them both of everything they’ve fought and sacrificed for. With the destruction of their realm, the fey flee to modern day Ireland. The survivors are scattered. Their enemies are picking them off. And these two rivals are the fey’s last hope.

Perfect for fans of the Iron Druid Chronicles, Mercy Thompson, and the Fever series, this gripping story is set in a magical world that coexists with our own.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Urban Fantasy Series 21 December 2015
By Amazon Customer - Published on

I will not go into great detail concerning the plot of the series, for I do not want to spoil the books for readers. This book has interesting characters that as the series progress (I've read all the subsequent books) show character development. My favorite characters in this series is Malcolm, Donovan, and Lugh. The characters all have their own faults and virtues. I especially like the interactions between these three characters. In the books they consider each other as enemies but, in the end, they find that their goals are the same. Another character that I wish we could have had better fleshed out was Mannan, the Seelie King. He made an interesting villain in the series and I'd like to see how he fully grew into the villain he became. Especially due to the duties that the Sidhe take seriously, which is the need to protect the Fae. The authors constructed their own mythos within Celtic Mythology that they have left themselves much room within which to create more stories in this world.

This series would be good for fans who love reading stories that deal with the fae in general (Elves, Sidhe, etc). But for those readers who like vampires and werewolves, they are in the stories as well to a large extent. There are cameos from other races (worlds) as well. To name a couple would be Dragons and Norse Mythological beings. If you are a fan of romance, you might be disappointed by this series. There is no grand or epic romances in these series. However, the subject of love and even romance is touched on in this series. Readers may want to be aware that there is a character who is raped in the series. The authors detail it enough that, if this is a touchy area for you, you might wish to avoid it. It is most prevalent in Malcolm's story (Scars of Silver) with the character or characters reflecting on the issue later in the series.

I gave the authors 4 stars due to an interesting plot, good characters and character development, and an interesting twist on mythology. The flow of the story can get a bit dry feeling as you wait for the story to progress, but that eases as the series moves along to stories that they wrote recently. Overall, I would say to give these writers a shot. If you don't want to commit to the high priced Episode Novels, then try their smaller short stories. When I was first starting on reading this series Amazon had some of their short story books free.

4.0 out of 5 stars An intriguing look into Fae folklore 2 May 2013

Let me start by saying that I hate novellas or serialized stories. Thus why I bought the collection...only to find out there appears to be more. That being said, I'm really liking the story but want the whole thing, not disjointed chapters. I will read the next collection as well as the characters grip you and demand you hear their story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does this mean the end for the Sidhe ? Grab this series to find out. 31 December 2015

This story met all my expectatons for a series on Faeries.
It has intrigue, plus a bit of romance and lots of action.
I got captivated right from the start and I can't wait to
read what happens next.
The way the authors describe the Fae world in Ireland and
England was so believable, plus the characters were very interesting.
When you are introduced to Lugh - Seelie Court and Donovan - Unseelie Court, you
can see that even though they are enemies they have the best interests of the
Sidhe at heart and their survival.

The only thing I would mention is that the story is complex and does jump around a lot
so you really have to concentrate when you are reading it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gotta Love Elves..and Goblins..and Fairies..and Dragons..and .... 18 September 2014

Many and varied Fae Creatures in this book. Fantastic World Building. Interesting Plots. Good writing. Great character development.
I grew to appreciate most all of the characters: Lugh, the rather clueless and naive Noble Light Sidhe. Donovan, the strong but stubborn Dark Sidhe. Jonathan, the Powerful Dragon. Malcolm, the young, abused Earthborn Sidhe. A little disappointed in London, the Touch-addicted Human.

This is apparently a roughly chronological collection of serial type episodes from several related series. Since I'm not a fan of this type of writing, I probably would not have downloaded it if I had known that was the case. Because of this book being such a collection from the various series, the storyline was a little choppy and inconsistent. In spite of this, I quickly found myself eagerly wanting to know what came next for the characters.

Unfortunately, I still don't know how things will turn out in this intriguing World, as there is a second book of collections available. I'm not very happy about that. Serial installments like this could go on forever. Although I enjoyed this book, I'm not sure if I'll continue with the second book of collected episodes. I prefer full and complete books--this kind of tease doesn't do it for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scattered Magic (The Sidhe Collection) by Archer & Ravenhart 4 February 2013

Scattered Magic (The Sidhe Collection)

This book is the first half of the first season of a serial fiction /fantasy series concerning the interaction of the Fey with each other as well as with Vampires, Werewolves, & Humans . I first started reading the series one episode after the other. On one hand reading a series gives you a book to look forward to. But on the other hand, if the series is one you are avidly reading like I am with this one, waiting even a day can be frustrating! That is why I am thrilled that the authors have started to compile the series into several books. Think of it as a collection of last season's episodes!
I highly recommend reading Scattered Magic. Give your imagination a good tickle!
