5.0 out of 5 stars My new favorite Marie Force book! 6 November 2014
By Heather F. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
What do you get when you couple a mountain man with a city girl? One really awesome book!

I've been a fan of Marie Force for a long time and I enjoy every single one of the books she has written, including both her series; the Fatal series and her Gansett Island series. But, I have to say that after this book, I think the Green Mountain series has just taken the top spot. There was something about Colton and Lucy that had me captivated from the first chapter.

Colton Abbott has lived on "his" mountain for years and run the family syrup making business keeping his life, and the goings on in his life, fairly well kept secrets from the rest of his very large, well meaning family. It comes to the attention of his family that Colton has begun to spend his weekends with a "mystery woman."

The "mystery woman" is none other than the best friend of Colton's brother Will's new girlfriend, Cameron. Lucy Mulvaney came to Butler, Vermont for the website presentation that she and Cameron were doing for the Green Mountain Store, little did she know she was also going to find the love of her life.

Over the course of this book, there is no doubt how Colton and Lucy feel about one another and how much they want to be together. What they struggle with and have to try to determine is how they are going to make a relationship work when there is 6 hours between the two cities where they live and neither one can see being uprooted from the careers and cities they love.

Marie Force has the gift of creating characters that have heart, humor and that you want to spend time with. I adored this book and can't wait to read the next one in this series in March of 2015.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not My Favorite 2 February 2015
By Ellief - Published on Amazon.com

I Saw Her Standing There, Green Mountain #3, by Marie Force
Grade: C

“I just want you to know that I have more fun with you than anyone I’ve ever known in my whole life.”

Colton Abbott loves his life living and working on “his” mountain where his family has their maple sugaring store and operation. Colton never thought anything or anyone would be able to get him away from his country living until he meets Lucy Mulvaney. As sparks fly these two are keeping things a secret from Colton’s family and Lucy’s best friend, business partner and now girlfriend of one of Colton’s brothers, Cameron. As Colton falls in love for the first time uncertainties plague the relationship but Colton will stop at nothing to finally get his girl.

Lucy Mulvaney is born and raised in New York City and as much as she loves to visit Vermont she never even thought about living there. Meeting Colton shakes up Lucy’s world and for once in her life she is not getting bored with a guy. As the distance starts to take its toll on them both Lucy struggles to give up her life, job and family in NYC for country living with no indoor shower and a moose who likes to come visit. Lucy must finally decide if she will give up everything for love or lose it forever.

My first experience with the Abbott clan was with the book I Want to Hold Your Hand which is the second in the series and revolves around Colton’s sister Hannah and her friend Noah. This book had me in tears within the first few chapters and I loved every page. Sadly, I Saw Her Standing There does not have the same magic and I felt it was kind of boring and predictable at times.

I liked Lucy and Colton I found myself daydreaming during their story and wondering when they would just make a decision already. I liked seeing both of their families and the big family dinner with the Abbotts saved the book for me. After awhile i just wanted things to be over and get on to the next Abbott who will fall in love. If it wasn’t for the Abbott interaction and setting up the next story I don’t know if I would have finished this book.

After Hannah and Noah’s story it felt boring, forced and the problem of distance seemed unimportant. I wasn’t happy with the way things ended and I am disappointed but still going to give the next book a chance. I hope the next on can capture the magic of Hannah and Noah’s love story. This isn’t a horrible book but I was hoping for more and really sad with how everything played out.

4.0 out of 5 stars A fabulous small town story 16 January 2015
By Kathryn @theBookDate - Published on Amazon.com
It has all that makes a great read of those small town series: a fabulous setting, characters that pull you in and those emotional twists and turns as two people are drawn together.

This time it is the story of Colton and Lucy. The main problem for these two is that Colton lives in Vermont on a mountain and Lucy lives in New York. And while Lucy's best friend Cameron solved that difficulty by leaving New York and coming to live in Vermont with Colton's brother Will, that is just so not what Lucy can do.

The Abbott family are a big family - ten, seven boys and three girls. Their parents Molly and Lincoln round that out, with Elmer the Grandad also popping up at odd but significant moments. There's not much the Abbott clan can put past the last formidable three, they have a lot of life experience. Lincoln and Elmer are an unlikely team of matchmakers and will go to any lengths to see the right couples find each other. There is a bit of a competition going on between them.

I love the romance and right along with that the interactions of this large family who love and care for each other, but who also like to engage in quick banter that is geared up to embarrass one of their siblings. I also love how we get a good dollop of previous characters. Marie Force weaves them into the story seamlessly, updates about their lives from their point of view really works for me. This time I loved the secret surprise that Nolan has up his sleeve for Hannah. And a very tender moment when he pulls it off.

This series is fast becoming one of my favourite small town series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Overcoming obstacles to get to the Happily Ever After 24 October 2015
By SOMDReigel - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
The third book in the Green Mountain series follows Colton Abbott and Lucy Mulvaney’s love story. Colton is the Abbott’s Mountain Man running the family syrup business. He lives alone up on the mountain with just the very basics. Lucy Mulvaney is a true city girl with everything she needs at her fingertips. They fall in love but have overwhelming obstacles to overcome – living 6 hours apart, his life & job is in Vermont, her family and business is in NY. Colton is determined to find a solution while Lucy holds firm to guarding her heart. Elmer and Lincoln scored another HEA with this latest matchmaking. Hannah & Nolan’s wedding is also featured. Make sure to read the bonus short story at the end of the book. It’s a hysterical camping adventure featuring Colton, Lucy, Will, and Cameron.

3.0 out of 5 stars I was a little disappointed in this edition of the series 10 January 2015
By ReaderRevue - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I was a little disappointed in this edition of the series. The story was good, but it seemed to be more about sex than romance. I will continue to read the series because I like the overall story line of the country store and the huge Abbott family, but I felt some of the 'sweetness' was gone.
While many people enjoy the heavy sex scenes, it's just not my preference. Hope the next book will have more heart, less skin.
