Product Description

Kennedy Cross had her heart broken early in life. It wasn't someone or something who betrayed her—it was her own body. Despite it being all she’s ever wanted, Kennedy will never know what it feels like to feel her baby’s feet kick from the inside out. Having been pronounced infertile at only eighteen, she redirected her life the best way she could.

Eight years and a degree later, Kennedy is one of the most well-loved first-grade teachers at Rock Falls Elementary School. It doesn’t matter that her college boyfriend left her because he wanted children of his own. She has twenty-two of the most gorgeous six-year-olds who adore her and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Jackson Steele deals only in extremes. He falls victim to manic episodes lasting for days, sometimes weeks at a time, sending him reeling from volatile highs to devastating lows. It’s a living hell just being inside his own mind, and that hell has taken everything he’s ever loved away from him. But what if, this time, it gives him something? An untimely gift from God and a brunette with legs eight miles long will bring him the most unforeseen joy but also his most challenging of tests.

What happens when circumstances of life threaten the one thing both Jackson and Kennedy love? Saving Steele from himself may prove to be too much for Cross to bear.

I was in two minds at the end of this book, one I loved the story but was sad and unhappy because it was the end for our Rock Falls Series. Jackson had suffered for some time due to his bipolar and the fact that he thought this was the reason he had not been able to keep Hannah when in fact she was never the person he was supposed to be with. A surprise lands on Jackson's doorstep teaching him really what love is which also brings him to the one person that will be the final part of his family. This was a beautiful story and I was so glad that he finally got his happy ending.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book I have ever read by this author, and even though it is Book 5 in the Rock Falls series, it can be read without reading the others.
Jackson Steele gets a surprise when the six-year-old son he never knew about suddenly shows up on his doorstep alone.
When he picks Ryker up from school on the first day, he meets his son's teacher, Kennedy Cross. Instantly, he found her to be adorable and cute and knew that she would be his.

I really enjoyed this story. All three, Ryker, Jackson, and Kennedy, have not had it easy, but when they get together, it feels right. I loved that Jackson and Kennedy knew from the start that they liked each other and they progressed without any backward steps. The angst came from outside their little family unit rather than between the two main characters.
I think I will go back and check out the previous books.

I was very lucky and received an ARC for this book. I have loved all the Rock Fall series but Saving Steele is right up there with my favourite. This book made my cry, laugh, get angry with and for Jackson, Kennedy and that little mini alpha Ryker (you will fall in love with this little cutie).
This book lets you see that fairy tales don't have to be rainbows and sunshine and that you can have a HEA even when you have flaws as long as you love one another and support these flaws your will always have that HEA. Having a daughter who has and fought out the other side of a mental illness, I love the story Anne Jolin wrote and didnt hide either Jackson' or Kennedy's issue, and showed that you don't have to be defined by your illness.

Thank you Anne Jolin love it !!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Saving Steele is an emotional powerhouse of a read. Fantastic 9 February 2016
By April R Symes - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
What an emotional roller-coaster of a story! Full of angst, heartbreak, love, determination, anger, passion and never-ending love. I could feel the emotions all in this story and the characters came off as very believable as compared to other stories I have read in the past.
Jackson finds out he has a 6 yo son named Ryker when he ended up meeting him and that shook him to the core. But did he let that stop him-NOPE! He immediately wanted his son in his life and he did everything he could to make him happy and safe. Ryker was the result of a one night stand with this woman named Rhonda. Because of how Ryker came to be with him, Jackson needs answers so he starts searching for his son’s mother. In the meantime, he enrolls his son in school and his son happens to be in his friend Colt’s sister , Kennedy Cross room.
Kennedy has had some issues in her young life so she approaches everything in her life with control. She is a bit anal with how she uses Post It notes everywhere. Kennedy is unable to have children in her life due to a medical issue so she gives all the love in her heart to “her kids” in the classroom. Her kids love her and thrive. When Ryker comes into her life , in her classroom, she gives him a lot of love and Jackson sees this. Soon the chemistry between the two is off the charts and thru the roof.
Jackson has some issues of his own- along the lines of mental –he can be manic and he can be low- will this cause problems with his burgeoning relationship with Kennedy ? Or will the newly forming bond of love have a chance to grow and thrive and let the two become a family of 3 ?
I found this book to be so emotionally wonderful and I kept having to reach for tissues because there were so many tearful scenes in the book but also so many funny, humorous scenes – There is one with Ryker in Kennedy’s classroom that comes to mind . Kids say the craziest things LOL. I have not read any of the author’s books before but this was fantastic and I will read this author again.

My rating: 4.5 stars ****

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot Guy & Mini Guy Hot wooing the Heroine - Be still my heart! 20 February 2016

A Powerful, Moving, and Sexy novel - "Saving Steele" brought me to tears but was sweet and swoony and took my breath away. I jumped into this series starting with the fifth installment of the series. When I read the Prologue I thought I was in over my head. The entire cast of characters are there, from the previous books with bits and pieces of their stories, but this book is a stand alone novel. Anne Jolin gets you up to speed as the story unfolds - and it unfolds beautifully. The first point of view we get is that of a young boy and we do not hear his POV again until the end. The rest of the novel's point of views alternate between the Hero, Jackson, and the Heroine, Kennedy.. The romance ramps up rather quickly, and the main characters are honest and straight forward about their baggage. The couple is tested greatly by internal and external forces which compels them to grow and strengthen within themselves and with each other. "Saving Steele" is an incredibly moving and romantic novel. I was very pleased that I took the time to read it and the pay off was that I found a new series to enjoy.
"Saving Steele" has everything. It is heart wrenching. It is romantic. It is delightfully fun. It is wonderfully sweet. It is also sexy. Anne Jolin gives us a stark view of the battles of Bi-Polar disorder. It also shows the heartbreak of not being able to have children - and how that effects your self worth. The portrayal of Jackson and Ryker dating Kennedy as a package deal is wonderfully entertaining. Jackson is an Alpha Male from the start - no doubt about it. Kennedy finds her strength and protective footing by the end of the novel. I am certainly going to go back and acquire the rest of this collection. Then I need to find an island in order to acquire the time to enjoy them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a bad addition to the series, but would like to see more originality. 13 February 2016

After the cliffhanger at the end of Keeping King, I was interested to see where the series was going to go with Jackon's story.

We are meeting the heroine, Kennedy Cross, for the first time in this installment of the series. She does have a connection to previous books in that she is the sister of Cody Cross, who was Peyton's sparring partner in Keeping King. Kennedy and Cody had a sad childhood... it wasn't quite tragic, but it was not loving by any means. This, coupled with Kennedy's infertility, have left her with a need to have more control in her life. So she has some OCD tendencies, but not a full blown diagnosis. She loves children and is good at her job as a first grade teacher. I liked Kennedy, but I have liked all of the heroines in this series. I like that she was willing to fight for her HEA, despite all the problems and drama with Jackson, his mental health, and his baby mama.

We met Jackson Steele in the introductory book to the series, Chasing Rhodes, where he was the bi-polar manic depressive ex-boyfriend of the heroine, Hannah. After that first book, Jackson was more of a background character in the series so we don't know a whole lot about him. As with the other men of Rock Falls, Jackson is a vulnerable alpha male - the vulnerability being his disorder. He is a residential contractor/architect, and was roommates with Jayden until Peyton came along. I liked Jackson quite a bit, but his alpha dominant behavior seemed at odds with his manic depressive diagnosis. Although I don't think this particular mental affliction was portrayed accurately, but its been so long since I got my (useless) Psychology degree that it didn't bother me overmuch. All that aside, I had a good emotional connection to Jackson's character which kept me in the story and had me tearing up several times. Jackson's son, Ryker was adorable and tragic, a sweet little boy that you wanted to wrap up and protect from all the bad things in the world.

While I enjoyed this story and thought it had good bones, I wish I could have heard a little more of Anne Jolin's voice. I felt like I was reading a lot of phrasing/terminology and mannerisms that I have read before in Kristen Ashley's books. In addition, this is the third hero named Jackson Steele that I have read over the last year (two in the architecture/contracting profession). It's starting to get a bit confusing so I think we need to shake up the alpha male name database a bit.

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. 3 stars / 3 flames.

5.0 out of 5 stars I just wholeheartedly fell in love this book! 27 February 2016

Anne Jolin's Rock Falls series is one of my absolute favorites and I was sad reading Keeping King because I thought it was the end and I was so happy when it ended in a way that you knew there just HAD to be another book! It was a crazy ending but I didn't care because it meant another book and it also meant that Jackson would get his own story and I really wanted to see him get his girl. Saving Steele was even better than I expected it to be and I completely LOOOOVED it!!

Kennedy is so adorkable! She has these little quirks that are just so cute and entertaining that I couldn't help but love her! But when you put all those aside, it's really who she is inside that truly makes you love her. She's sweet, genuine, kind, and you just know she's not the type to play games or stab you in the back. Kennedy is loyal and totally wonderful!

I think I always felt a little bad for Jackson because he lost Hannah, but I don't think that it was until Keeping King that I really wanted him to find his own happiness and I'm so glad that he has! He does have his issues that he has to deal with but he's a better, stronger man and simply irresistible. I loved how he was with Ryker - he's so sweet and patient and loving - and I loved the way he was with Kennedy with all his alpha-like tendencies but also his tenderness and passion for her. Jackson is quite the man and he made me love him, melt for him and swoon for him!

Saving Steele is beautiful, charming, and endearing. It made me laugh and sigh and melt the whole way through and the moments with Ryker and Jackson or Ryker and Kennedy or with all three of them were just so precious and special that I just wholeheartedly fell in love! This was a wonderful read and I hope we get Colt's book next!

Saving Steele is a standalone, it's told mostly from Jackson and Kennedy's POV, and they do get their well-deserved happily-ever-after!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!!! 20 February 2016

If it was possible to give more than 5 stars I'd give it ten fold! Wow, Jackson and Kennedy oops I almost forgot Ryker too. All three names by the way are beautiful as are the characters. Especially Jackson, such a sexy name for a hero. First let me start by saying this is the first book I've read in this series and I am not sorry that I did. Honestly, I do not believe I'll go back and read any of the others because I do not want my view of Jackson tainted in any way in any books prior, if Colt gets a future book I'll definitely read that. I thought I loved Jackson from the start of the book but I was wrong, if there's anything beyond just loving a character that's what I'd give him by the end of this book. The three of them together, wow, so powerful, the intensity of each of their situations but nothing beats Ryker, he stole my heart. That scene at the school ripped my heart apart and shredded it into a million pieces and then Jackson's reaction just gutted me. The way Kennedy stepped up to the plate to be whatever Jackson needed was an incredible emotional beautiful ride, perfectly executed. All of their imperfections when alone made them perfect together the three of them as a unit, a family. I won't speak of Ronda because she's undeserving of any words here.

Cliffhanger, no, sexy, oh yeah, not erotic or kinky but sexy, great story, yes that and beyond, cheating, no, amazing hero and heroine, absolutely, re-readable worthy, yes. Editing issues, yes some but should most certainly be easily overlooked because this story is that profound and one should only focus on the message this author is sending, ailment or not we're all deserving to be loved by someone, whether it be not being able to conceive, a mental issue or whatever sickness/health issue one may have, you'll find someone to see past it and love you for what and who you are, what's healthy, find the good in you enough. I can't say express how beautiful this story is, it's special. Usually I wish more of a story but this really was perfect as is, that great and that epilogue adding Ryker, brilliant.

I was not asked to review this, I do not know the author. This is the first time I've read anything from this author and I am so glad that I stumbled onto this read. I am so glad she decided to write this story and was willing to share her talent with us. I recommend this to all.
