Product Description

Kennedy Cross had her heart broken early in life. It wasn't someone or something who betrayed her—it was her own body. Despite it being all she’s ever wanted, Kennedy will never know what it feels like to feel her baby’s feet kick from the inside out. Having been pronounced infertile at only eighteen, she redirected her life the best way she could.

Eight years and a degree later, Kennedy is one of the most well-loved first-grade teachers at Rock Falls Elementary School. It doesn’t matter that her college boyfriend left her because he wanted children of his own. She has twenty-two of the most gorgeous six-year-olds who adore her and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Jackson Steele deals only in extremes. He falls victim to manic episodes lasting for days, sometimes weeks at a time, sending him reeling from volatile highs to devastating lows. It’s a living hell just being inside his own mind, and that hell has taken everything he’s ever loved away from him. But what if, this time, it gives him something? An untimely gift from God and a brunette with legs eight miles long will bring him the most unforeseen joy but also his most challenging of tests.

What happens when circumstances of life threaten the one thing both Jackson and Kennedy love? Saving Steele from himself may prove to be too much for Cross to bear.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book I have ever read by this author, and even though it is Book 5 in the Rock Falls series, it can be read without reading the others.
Jackson Steele gets a surprise when the six-year-old son he never knew about suddenly shows up on his doorstep alone.
When he picks Ryker up from school on the first day, he meets his son's teacher, Kennedy Cross. Instantly, he found her to be adorable and cute and knew that she would be his.

I really enjoyed this story. All three, Ryker, Jackson, and Kennedy, have not had it easy, but when they get together, it feels right. I loved that Jackson and Kennedy knew from the start that they liked each other and they progressed without any backward steps. The angst came from outside their little family unit rather than between the two main characters.
I think I will go back and check out the previous books.

I was very lucky and received an ARC for this book. I have loved all the Rock Fall series but Saving Steele is right up there with my favourite. This book made my cry, laugh, get angry with and for Jackson, Kennedy and that little mini alpha Ryker (you will fall in love with this little cutie).
This book lets you see that fairy tales don't have to be rainbows and sunshine and that you can have a HEA even when you have flaws as long as you love one another and support these flaws your will always have that HEA. Having a daughter who has and fought out the other side of a mental illness, I love the story Anne Jolin wrote and didnt hide either Jackson' or Kennedy's issue, and showed that you don't have to be defined by your illness.

Thank you Anne Jolin love it !!!!!

I was in two minds at the end of this book, one I loved the story but was sad and unhappy because it was the end for our Rock Falls Series. Jackson had suffered for some time due to his bipolar and the fact that he thought this was the reason he had not been able to keep Hannah when in fact she was never the person he was supposed to be with. A surprise lands on Jackson's doorstep teaching him really what love is which also brings him to the one person that will be the final part of his family. This was a beautiful story and I was so glad that he finally got his happy ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot Guy & Mini Guy Hot wooing the Heroine - Be still my heart! 20 February 2016

A Powerful, Moving, and Sexy novel - "Saving Steele" brought me to tears but was sweet and swoony and took my breath away. I jumped into this series starting with the fifth installment of the series. When I read the Prologue I thought I was in over my head. The entire cast of characters are there, from the previous books with bits and pieces of their stories, but this book is a stand alone novel. Anne Jolin gets you up to speed as the story unfolds - and it unfolds beautifully. The first point of view we get is that of a young boy and we do not hear his POV again until the end. The rest of the novel's point of views alternate between the Hero, Jackson, and the Heroine, Kennedy.. The romance ramps up rather quickly, and the main characters are honest and straight forward about their baggage. The couple is tested greatly by internal and external forces which compels them to grow and strengthen within themselves and with each other. "Saving Steele" is an incredibly moving and romantic novel. I was very pleased that I took the time to read it and the pay off was that I found a new series to enjoy.
"Saving Steele" has everything. It is heart wrenching. It is romantic. It is delightfully fun. It is wonderfully sweet. It is also sexy. Anne Jolin gives us a stark view of the battles of Bi-Polar disorder. It also shows the heartbreak of not being able to have children - and how that effects your self worth. The portrayal of Jackson and Ryker dating Kennedy as a package deal is wonderfully entertaining. Jackson is an Alpha Male from the start - no doubt about it. Kennedy finds her strength and protective footing by the end of the novel. I am certainly going to go back and acquire the rest of this collection. Then I need to find an island in order to acquire the time to enjoy them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!!! 20 February 2016

If it was possible to give more than 5 stars I'd give it ten fold! Wow, Jackson and Kennedy oops I almost forgot Ryker too. All three names by the way are beautiful as are the characters. Especially Jackson, such a sexy name for a hero. First let me start by saying this is the first book I've read in this series and I am not sorry that I did. Honestly, I do not believe I'll go back and read any of the others because I do not want my view of Jackson tainted in any way in any books prior, if Colt gets a future book I'll definitely read that. I thought I loved Jackson from the start of the book but I was wrong, if there's anything beyond just loving a character that's what I'd give him by the end of this book. The three of them together, wow, so powerful, the intensity of each of their situations but nothing beats Ryker, he stole my heart. That scene at the school ripped my heart apart and shredded it into a million pieces and then Jackson's reaction just gutted me. The way Kennedy stepped up to the plate to be whatever Jackson needed was an incredible emotional beautiful ride, perfectly executed. All of their imperfections when alone made them perfect together the three of them as a unit, a family. I won't speak of Ronda because she's undeserving of any words here.

Cliffhanger, no, sexy, oh yeah, not erotic or kinky but sexy, great story, yes that and beyond, cheating, no, amazing hero and heroine, absolutely, re-readable worthy, yes. Editing issues, yes some but should most certainly be easily overlooked because this story is that profound and one should only focus on the message this author is sending, ailment or not we're all deserving to be loved by someone, whether it be not being able to conceive, a mental issue or whatever sickness/health issue one may have, you'll find someone to see past it and love you for what and who you are, what's healthy, find the good in you enough. I can't say express how beautiful this story is, it's special. Usually I wish more of a story but this really was perfect as is, that great and that epilogue adding Ryker, brilliant.

I was not asked to review this, I do not know the author. This is the first time I've read anything from this author and I am so glad that I stumbled onto this read. I am so glad she decided to write this story and was willing to share her talent with us. I recommend this to all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Such a sweet story for Jackson & Kennedy! 27 April 2016

A sweet & moving end to the Rock Falls series!

I loved Jackson & I loved Kennedy. And... I LOVED them as a couple. I only wish that there was a little more build-up to them getting together. I felt like Jackson "noticed" Kennedy a few times & then claimed her in like two shakes of a lamb's tail. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about some alpha insta-love but I needed more in this instance.

It was great getting the chance to see things through Jackson's eyes. I felt for him on so many levels; with Ryker, with Ronda the b****, with his disorder. His alpha side was HOT. The "Babes", his filthy mouth, the way he protected & worshipped Kennedy, the way he took to Ryker... It ALL fueled my desire for him & I loved it.

Just like I did with Jackson, I had a ginormous case of the feels for Kennedy. Her diagnosis, her crap-tastic parental units, her slimy ex... I wanted to give her the biggest of bear hugs multiple times in this book. I adored her strength, her coping methods & the way she loved Ryker, Jackson & his family. And the scene with Ryker & the personalized post-it notes... She so deserved that!

Sad to see the series end but am very glad that this group of friends got such fabulous happily ever afters! BUT... would it be too greedy of me to ask for a spin-off series that includes one book for Colt & one for Ellis & Nicki? :)

This is book 5 in the Rock Falls Series

I think this is my favorite of them all! I love each one but this one gutted me ..
Some real, serious situations that 2 people learn to deal with together and become a beautifully, slightly different form of perfection as a family.
the situations are real, these things happen every day to people, and what is addressed in this book is something that people have in every day life. Its written beautifully and I cant be more in love with Jackson and Kennedy if I tried. They both have their problems, and its real problems. Neither run from the other, they embrace it and work with it, and help each other in a way that is life altering and this is definitely a couple that will be together forever !!
And Ryker ..... I love him to pieces .... I dont want to give anything away, so im just going to say this ... GET THIS SERIES AND GET THIS BOOK!!! The emotion I felt from this one alone was so over the top ... .I am struggling now to move on to another book !!!
I highly recommend this series and this book !!
5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Dreamy Stars!! 11 February 2016

It's days like today that I'm thrilled I'm a voracious reader. Because today, I finished a book that not only had it not been on my radar, but I'd never read this author before. I know, I know, I've been missing out but no more! Saving Steele for me was a book that I just couldn't put down. Our Hero and Heroine are such interesting people in and of themselves.

Jackson is a man that has struggled over the years with bi-polar disease and when he goes black, things happen that he doesn't remember. Sometimes his black periods can last days or weeks at a time. Right now, he's in a really good place with great friends and a successful business. The only thing missing is someone to share all of this and maybe a child or two.

Kennedy is a woman that has had her heart broken because of something she has absolutely no control over and because of this, she is the classic control freak and lives her life in a very organized and compartmentalized way. Needless to say this is all about to change.

Enter Ryker Jackson Steele. The cutest and most precious six-year old that I've "met." This sweet little boy shows up on Jackson's doorstep one day with his birth certificate and a raggedy backpack. When Hannah tells Jackson about his visitor Jackson's reaction just sleighed me....

"Some moments are infinite. Seconds of time that will lives as the shadow of a goose bump on your skin, the imprint of a heartbeat on your ribs, the echo of air on your lips."

Everyone is understandably concerned with how this will effect Jackson, and I could see how he wanted to close up, but, he manages to pull himself back to find out how exactly this happens. He wants to meet him and see if it's really possible he has a son that he knew nothing about. When he enters the living room to find Ryker...

"I see his shoes first; Chucks, red ones, they're tattered and worn, the soles frayed..."

Reading their immediate connection brought tears to my eyes for a multitude of reasons but also a smile at the same time. Once Jackson was convinced this was his son, there was no looking back. Enter Kennedy....

Kennedy is Ryker's first grade teacher and she loves all of her students just the way you want a teacher to love your child that's going to school for the first time. I literally laughed out loud about all her post-it notes and how she color codes everything and everyone....I tend to do that myself. Although I'm not quite as bad about it as she is, but I definitely related! Not only has Kennedy's body let her down, but her parents, have also proven to be a huge disappointment so I can completely understand her need for this behavior.

As these two meet and get to know each other, there is a chemistry there that cannot be denied on several levels. Their first real meeting is when Kennedy needs to tell Jackson about Ryker's behavior in school for Show and Tell. This scene had me rolling...

"Oh good God. She can't even say it out loud; she was going to write it down."

I think right then and there Jackson had an inkling that Kennedy was going to be someone special to him, but it was another incident that moved them into that next phase. Talk about swooning!!! When Kennedy ends up taking care of Ryker before school one day and Ryker is having breakfast, her reaction to the choice of meal, I think nearly sent her over the edge...I personally didn't see anything wrong with it....

"Oh my God! He'd had chocolate milk with his Fruit Loops!"

This just set off a series of events that solidified in my mind that these two were going to end up with each other because no one else would be able to put up with their idiosyncrasies! As they grow closer and closer together, there is a bonding going on between all of them and when she has to meet Jackson's mom for the first time was classic....

"I am about to meet hot guy's mom and mini hot guy's grandma. I'm not freaking out, I AM TOTALLY FREAKING OUT."

I loved how slowly they're relationship grew. There was no hurrying or rushing into anything physical. The way Ms. Jolin wrote about how they grew as a family brought joy to my heart because I feel that if it's going to last, it has to grow organically, especially when there's a child involved....

"Tonight is family night. We're going to eat greasy $***ty pizza, that means you too, and I'm going to watch a movie while holding on to my two favorite people..."

But all bets were off after family night and the sexual chemistry between these two is OFF THE CHARTS. And Jackson is a dirty, dirty talker which is so freakin' hot!!!! The thoughts that went through Kennedy's mind the night before their first time together cracked me up....

"Rats! I'm going to have to shave. My esthetician is going to have my hyde for this, but she'd understand, it was a sexual emergency, a sexergency, if you will."

I loved how this was written about because this is real life and something that us women actually think about. But let's get back to Jackson and his growing love for Kennedy without really acknowledging it....

"When she walks into a room, my soul literally sighs at the return of its other half.....I need Kennedy like I need the air to breathe. I'd suffocate without her and often wonder how I survived as long as I did not knowing her."

Talk about taking that swoon factor up a notch. Oh my!!! Of course not everything can go smoothly or it wouldn't be a story worth reading. There's the fact that Ryker's mother, if you want to call her that, is still somewhere out there and therefore a threat to shatter the world they're building as a family. There's also the fact that Jackson needs to tell Kennedy about his bi-polar and what that can mean for their life together...

"I don't know what's in store for us, babe. I know it won't be perfect, but it'll be ours and Ryker's too, and know that, I could die a happy man."

When the unthinkable happens, their world is tested unlike anything Kennedy has experienced before....

"Just find me, Jackson. Just find my voice and I will save you."

Does Jackson find Kennedy? Can they survive as a couple and build a life for themselves? Will Ryker be a part of their forever? Can Kennedy give up some of her control tendencies to let Jackson and Ryker into her compartmentalized world and let in some chaos? If so, what does that world look like? When you 1-click on this amazing book, you'll get all these answers along with a story that will grab you by your shirt collar and not let you go even after you've turned the last page!
