Product Description

Praised by Penelope Ward as “a unique story line with multiple layers to it,” Sarah Robinson’s Saving a Legend goes another round with the brooding Kavanagh brothers: MMA fighters who won’t call it quits in the ring, or in romance.
His family’s gym has produced a roster of mixed martial arts legends, but so far Kieran Kavanagh hasn’t followed in their footsteps. After a brawl lands him in jail, Kieran is assigned to work at a center for at-risk youth. Though given a second chance, Kieran’s simply going through the motions—until he meets one very special kid, Shea Doherty, and falls hard for her very beautiful, very grown-up big sister, Fiona. The trouble is, Kieran’s best opening moves are getting him nowhere fast.
Fiona Doherty has too many responsibilities to fool around, especially now that she has custody of Shea. Sure, she’d love to find a devoted partner. But she won’t jeopardize her sister’s happiness—or risk revealing her tortured past—on a love-’em-and-leave-’em type of guy like Kieran . . . so it’s up to him to prove her wrong. As Fiona spends more time with Kieran, she starts to see a softer side of the reckless warrior. Now she must admit that when it comes to the possibility of real love, well . . . there’s a fighting chance.

4.0 out of 5 stars A love like theirs is worth the fight ahead... 15 June 2016
By Renee & Brianna - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
4 Stars from Renee!

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first:
Breaking a Legend (Kavanagh Legends #1)

This is Fiona and Kieran’s story. Kieran is being released from jail. On the way to family dinner he meets Fiona in her flower shop. Fiona is working and trying to take care of her sister. Her sister who is not good with new people opens up and bonds with Kieran right away. The more time the sisters and Kieran spend together the closer they become. But when something happens and Kieran makes a choice to protect Fiona and her sister but, at the same time let them down it just might be the end of everything. Can he explain why he did what he did? Will Fiona understand? Is she hiding her own secrets and this was the excuse to push him away? Can these two overcome their pasts in order to be together or is it over for good?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

4 Stars from Brianna!

Another hit in the sizzling Kavanagh Legends series! I loved this book. I have read a few novels by this author and I have enjoyed each one but this series is my fave. And since I am a fan of MMA romance books, I was drawn in from the beginning. This book was sexy, intense, passionate, suspenseful, and had quite a few twists and turns along the way.

Sarah Robinson hooked me on the first page. I devoured this book in one sitting found myself flipping the pages quickly racing to that happy ending down for these two until the end. This book was super edgy and one that you will have trouble putting down. This is a standalone but I recommend reading book to get the maximum reading experience.

This is Fiona and Kieran’s story and what a journey these two will take you on. Full of passionate moments and intense emotions, Kieran and Fiona are going to swoop you into their worlds. When these two meet, the chemistry is there. They will have to decide if their love is worth fighting for. It might not be easy but a love like there's is worth the chance.

I recommend this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kavanagh Legends continues! 15 June 2016
By Jacque - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Kavanagh Legends continues with Saving a Legend. This time around, the focus is on brother Kieran. He's made a few mistakes in his life and has paid the price. Now he's out of jail and trying to get back on the straight and narrow. Part of his probation is working at center for at-risk youth. There he meets a very special girl, Shea, whose older sister he falls hard for. Fiona, between her sister and her business, is over-whelmed with responsibilities and doesn't have time for him. He doesn't want to take no for an answer, she can't say yes without risking losing her sister. Separately, both are only going through the motions of living. Together, they can have it all, including love.

Kieran and Fiona, nice couple. Seriously, I liked them. They have a lot in common. Both want to make something of themselves yet they are both kind of floundering through their lives. He really screwed up and landed in jail for a couple of years. She has a terrible background, now runs her own business and is raising her special needs sister. Both sides are keeping secrets and of course, they all come to light. His was pretty much spelled out right there in the blurb: Jail. Why he held out for so long telling her turned into a very big elephant in the room, especially when they were around his family. However, her secret, that was unexpected. Now that I finished the book I can see the signs were all there, I was just guessing it was going to be something completely different. There's a nice build-up of their courtship, balanced with just enough high and low dramas to keep things moving along. Their happy ever after, yeah that was great. These two kids have been on quite a journey so it was nice to have it end on such an 'Awe' moment. It had me sighing with warm fuzzies.

Once again, we get to embrace the whole Kavanagh clan, which I absolutely adore. I really look forward to all of their stories in future titles. However, we have add a new character into the mix, Shea, Fiona's very sweet younger sister. Shea has Autism Spectrum Disorder and I got to give kudos to the author for portraying her with as authentic representation as she did. There’s no sugar coating here and it was easy to tell Ms. Robinson did her homework well. For those of you who skip straight to the Prologue, please take a moment to read the Forward.

So as much as I enjoyed Saving a Legend, I really did like the first book better. I'm not saying this book sucked because it didn't. On the contrary, it was actually very good. I think would kept me from falling madly in love with it was the timing of it all. Some issue seemed to be resolved a tad too quickly and others dragged on. Still it was a good read and a nice compliment to the series, one that I will continue reading.
Time for the next

I received this book from the JeepDiva for the express purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 Flower Girl & Shea Stars!! 14 July 2016
By Ralou T. - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition

The most perfect and accurate description I could give this book. Everything about it is so damn precious. From the amazing, worth-swooning guy and an immensely courageous and strong woman to a family beyond amazing and the creation of a great love.

From the first time I got close and personal with the Kavanagh Brothers through Rory & Clare’s story – Breaking a Legend – I got spellbound. In Saving a Legend, we get to learn Kieran’s story, who, for whoever has read the first book, knows that he is the brother who is in jail for the last 2 years. Now, Kieran is out of prison and is determined to change pavement every time his old life’s mistakes come back. He wants to make a difference and be different; a better man. And then, he meets Fiona; the owner of a flower shop and the sister-guardian of a very special creature who is about to steal his heart forever.

And THAT creature made the book an absolute MUST and me to fall even more in love with it and everything and everyone that includes. And the name of that treasure turned into a little girl? SHEA. Shea is a 8-year-old girl who Kieran meets while he does the community service part of his parole helping at-risk kids at his town’s youth center. And now you would probably wonder what makes her special. Well, Shea is a special-needs kid who, also, has gone through some very traumatic situations that have left a scar in her. Although, Kieran, being the sweet and loving person he is, used his Kavanagh superpowers on her and he got to help her more then he could ever imagine. But Shea didn’t stole only his heart but mine too. Completely! She was such a sweetheart and a precious little thing that if I could reach into the book, I would hug her to death.

As for what was happening between Fiona and Kieran can only be described as wonderful. They were more similar than they had cared to admit and their chemistry was constantly off-the charts; either they were in the same room or not. These two had literally found their soulmate in each other. But, also, through each other, they had found the strength they needed to deal with the ghosts they haunted them. Once and for all. And their love showed its true power especially through these fights.

“You love me?”
“I’m so head-over-damn-heels in love with you that it’s not even cute. It’s reaching creepy levels, like crazy-person territory.”

Sarah Robinson once again wrote an incredible story with even more incredible characters. And the addition of Shea in it was simply the best of all. She added such levels of sensitivity, care, sweetness etc to the story that I would be crazy if I didn’t love it instantly. Shea is really all what it takes to surrender your heart into this book. And combined with everything else……. 😉 Also, Rory and Clare’s continue of the story was simply magnificent! I couldn’t ask for a better one!! <3 I think now, I’m even more eager to read the next book than I was after Breaking a Legend. Because two doses of Kavanagh Brothers equals only in double excitement for what comes next! :p

4.0 out of 5 stars Fiona doesn’t have time for a fling with a playboy like him so now Kieran has to prove to Fiona ... 29 June 2016
By Adria Reyes - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
* A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley for the purpose of an honest review.

Kieran Kavanaugh was sent to jail for two years and now that he’s out he needs to decide what he’s going to do with his life. His family owns a Mixed Martial Arts studio that has produced some legends but Kieran isn’t one of them. Even though he’s assigned to work at a center for at-risk youth, Kieran continues to just go through the motions. Then he meets the very special Shea Doherty and her older sister Fiona and everything starts to click for Kieran. Unfortunately, Fiona doesn’t have time for a fling with a playboy like him so now Kieran has to prove to Fiona that he wants more than just a temporary fling with her and that he’s capable of staying out of trouble.

I feel like it’s been forever and a day since I read Rory Kavanagh’s story (Breaking a Legend). In the first book of the series, Kieran was mentioned several times but since he was still in jail at the time, he was never introduced to readers.

Saving a Legend served as the introduction to Kieran and his journey to a happy ending. To me he was like a bright, shiny, new toy and I didn’t know what to expect from this character. He was a complicated mess of emotions and while that might be a turnoff for some, it was a green light for me. Kieran was who he was, he went to jail for assault after an underground fight ring he was involved in got busted, he served his time, and came out different but at the same time he was still lost about his role in life.

What I really loved from the first book that definitely carried on to this one was how imperfect and flawed the author makes her characters. Kieran’s a hot mess but at the same time Sarah Robinson created feelings of empathy for him without making excuses for the bad choices he made. Kieran was literally a representation of every person who has screwed up, paid the consequences, and just wanted to get their lives on track. Totally and completely relatable. He wasn’t a bad boy with an attitude either, he had a kind heart that just needed to be restarted. It seems to be a family trait with the Kavanaghs to protect those who can’t protect themselves.

Fiona had similar traits but she limited her protective streak to her autistic sister Shea. I remember Fiona from her very brief scene in the first book so this was also like an introduction to her.

Kieran and Fiona had a pretty strong attraction but what I liked is that nothing happened right away. Fiona was super focused on her sister’s needs and had her priorities straight yet I didn’t feel like she was this untouchable role model of the perfect sister. She was strong and vulnerable just like Kieran was strong and vulnerable. These two really did help each other deal with their pasts and fight for a good future together. Once they crossed the line into intimacy it was a complete scorcher. These two were just hot, hot, HOT together but at the same time Kieran and Fiona continued to build on the bond they had started before getting intimate and it really sold me on their romance.

With four other siblings, parents and a cousin, Kieran had his hands full getting back on track with them all and it wasn’t always smooth sailing. The Kavanagh family dynamic was different with Kieran around, sometimes tense, sometimes bittersweet, and sometimes it was just entertaining. Kieran’s brothers all had varying degrees of feelings when it came to Kieran’s stint in jail and it was interesting watching them all deal with it in their own ways. I can’t decide which brother I’m fascinated with now since they’re all different but I can say that I was surprised at how much I really liked Fiona’s sister Shea. I don’t want to reveal too much but it was clear that the author took the time to make sure that Shea was as realistic to the children she represented as possible. Shea was something really special and I don’t think I’ll be the only reader who thinks so.

All in all, the amount of angst, drama, sex, humor, and love was well balanced and made Saving a Legend more than just an MMA Romance, it was a story about making a better life, family, and friendship. I loved seeing the Kavanaghs again but most of all I loved seeing Kieran learn and grow from his experience in prison.

Final Verdict: Rory Kavanagh is still my favorite (Actually it’s because he’s got Ace the pitbull) but Kieran’s climb from bottom to top was just as emotional and should not be missed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Loving the Legend 29 June 2016
By Linda Miller - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
"Saving A Legend" , is the second in Ms Robinson's Kavanaugh Legends series and quiet truthfully the very first book I have read by Ms Robinson and I was not disappointed.
Though part of a series , this book can be read as a standalone, however I do believe I probably would have more insight into the family if I had read the first book first. This however did not detract from a well written storyline an interesting characters.

Kieran Kavanaugh , one of the five Kavanaugh brothers has just been released from jail after serving two years for a street fighting MMA brawl gone wrong. Kieran had been an upcoming MMa fighter heading for the state championships trained out if the families own Gym Legends; until it all came to an end. Now twenty five and just released he is determined never to go back to prison again, determine to do everything he has to do while on probation to prevent it .
So he becomes gainfully employed , visits his parole officer and starts serving his community service at a community center working with underprivileged children. In between all of that he makes a stop at a flower shop, a stop that changes his life even more. Keiran meets the very beautiful but shy Fiona Doherty the shop owner, and is captivated. He tries to ask her out but she turns him down but these Kavanaugh men do not give up.

Fiona , unwilling caves into to Kieran's continued attention , because as it turns out her little sister Shea attends the same community center as Kieran is working at. Shea is a sweet little eight year old in the autism spectrum that Kieran takes an instant like and protective stance for, so when a trip to the ice cream shop comes up Kieran takes the opportunity to share the time with the two women who are fast becoming his favorite company.
Both Kieran and Fiona have secrets they keep from each other , but to spite those secrets they are falling for each other. Kieran , is the loving support that Fiona always desired, he is helpful with her sister and Shea love him. Fiona fears though that if he ever found out her secret he. Would want nothing to do with her so to spite her feelings she continues to hold back a little ,to keep a wall up.
However like all secrets , they eventually will be revealed leaving these two to either start over fresh or walk away Fiona tried to do just that when Kieran's secret came to light ; however it is something Kieran can not do and he quite poignantly tells Fiona.
“I want to be with the type of woman who cares so much for another person, an innocent little girl, that she’d literally kill for her. A woman who sacrifices her whole life to raise another. A woman who makes me laugh, and whose smile lights my whole day. A woman whose body is so perfectly made for mine that I can’t imagine touching anyone else ever again."

Fiona and Kieran are wonderful together and stronger and better for Shea together , the author created some pretty great main characters with a huge supporting cast that I am looking forward to reading their stories!
