I fell in love with Sam from the beginning. He was broken and selfless. He was kind and sweet and just amazing all around. He isn’t what you thought he would. He believed in all the words from his dad about him for so long that it breaks your heart.
When Ashlee takes on the job of putting together the bands non-profit the sparks between Sam and Ashlee fly. He brings out a side of her that you wouldn’t normally see. But she was hesitate. She had a past the broke her and left her untrusting and insecure. Sam does nothing but show her love and understanding but even that isn’t enough. As they learn more about each other they grow closer and become each others rock. Ashlee makes Sam believe he is worth it and gives him the confidence to let go and trust Ashlee. He wanted her to be his everything but Ashlee had issues with this. First it was work and than it was her insecurities.
Sam was such a sweet guy throughout this and seeing him let go and let Ashlee in was amazing. He learns to trust and let go. He begins to let his anger go and learn how to be himself without any doubt about if he deserves anything. He begins to see he isn’t his dad but Sam-a kind, caring, giving man. Watching his journey through finding himself, learning to let people in and trust and fall in love was wonderful and joyous. He grew leaps and bounds and love really helped him learn to find himself and see who he really was.
Ashlee was a great character as well. I only wish we could have read what broke Ashlee and had her distrust and give her so many issues. Other than this her story of falling in love was a little rougher than Sam’s. She feared her feelings and Sam. When tragedy hits her world it was Sam he kept her from losing herself to grief and despair. He brought her back from the dark and showed her love and support.
The band of Sam’s is great. They are fun and light. Sweet and caring. The interactions between all of them were entertaining.
This is the story of Sam and him finding himself and love. Of how the love he found helped him see himself as not what his dad said he was. Of how he let someone in and opened his heart to love. The story of Ashlee and how she learned to trust someone and not let her past hurt the future. The story of how they came together and found one another. How they helped each other heal and move on but also become each other’s support and rock. A sweet wonderful love story that has you root for them to come out in the end stronger and with a HEA. Excited to see more of these characters and see who will fall in love next and the story we will get. This story flew by and at the end you are smiling like a loon and wanting more.

4 Who Saved Whom Stars!!!!

Oh how excited I was when I heard we were getting Sam's book! I loved him from Music of the Heart and just knew that when I got his book, I would love him even more.

Sam and Ashlee are so perfect together even if it takes them a while to get there, the getting there part is where all the fun is. Sam had a very troubling growing up and was literally saved my a kindle older man and music. Ashlee had a growing up the broke my heart. She's a woman that has a lot on her shoulders but that doesn't shy her away from hard work.

This is where she and Sam connect when Trish, Jarrod's wife, suggests Sam get Ashlee's help in setting up the charitable organization to help the community center that was so pivotal in Sam's life. Ashlee has always had an attraction to Sam, but never wanted to do anything about it for a variety of reasons. Sam on the other hand, has decided now is the time to address this pull he has towards Ashlee.

Oh how I loved these two together! Ashlee brings a much needed soothing to Sam's soul and Sam brings his ability to live in the moment to Ashlee's life. She has so many burdens so having fun and just letting go and experiencing the feelings she has for Sam are new to her, but does she want to live and breathe them!

There's no lack of heat between these two either and Sam has a way with words to bring out the very sexy and dirty side of Ashlee. But is the heat that is between them enough to get them past some very difficult situations?

You'll get the answer to this while enjoying a wonderfully written hot and sexy romance!

4.0 out of 5 stars HOT!!!!! 14 August 2016

I was so excited when this one came out, and I sat down to read it in an evening (much like I did with the first Saints and Sinners book).

This one focuses on a different member of the band, Sam--and his path to true love. This time with Ashlee, the charity guru. I do love how Jarrod and Trish from the first book were incorporated. Instead of making them bit players, they were actual characters that helped drive the plot.

The sex was incredibly hot. Like, damn! level of hot.

When I am willing to stay up until all hours of the night to finish a book, you know you have a winner.

4.0 out of 5 stars Can I just tell you how much I loved this book 8 August 2016

Yay!!! We finally get the second book in the Saint & Sinners series!

Can I just tell you how much I loved this book. I called my blog partner and we were talking about this book. The thing that we both said was that this book was a quick read that was fun and oh so sweet. That Sam Brooks is one guy that all of us want in our world. Lucky Ashlee Daniels... *sighs*

So here's the sum up of Saved by the Music. Sam Brooks & Ashlee Daniels have known of each other for a few years. Every time that they are in each other's presence there is chemistry, but the two of them never act on it. That all changes when Ashlee is asked to work with the band, Saints & Sinners. Sam is a member of the world famous band and is forced to work with Ashlee. Ok, forced is not the correct word. He is overjoyed to be working with her. Let their love story begin.

"Just the mention of Sam Brooks had her skin tingling and her cheeks turning red. The man was perfection - short brownish hair, a year-round beard she wished she could feel between her thighs, the body of a god, and tattoos that made her mouth water. But it was the man's philanthropic commitments that made him the total package in her eyes. His heart was so much bigger than what he let the world see. The man was a mystery, that was for sure."
~ Kaithlin Shepherd, Saved by the Music (Saints & Sinners #2)

What I loved about this book was how quick the read was. When I say that I don't mean that I was glad it was over. What I mean by that is that Saved by the Music captured my attention from the first page to the last. Sam & Ashlee's story was they typical love story, but this couple was fun to read. Kaithlin Shepherd's writing was smooth and easy to get into. I have enjoyed everything that I have read by her.

"... she was pure temptation wrapped in killer curves and on hell of a sharp mind. Every time they found themselves attending the same charity functions, Sam couldn't stay away from her. The woman was a magnet, drawing him in with every look, every smile. She was so out of his league, but he couldn't seem to stop thinking about her."
~ Kaithlin Shepherd, Saved by the Music (Saints & Sinners #2)

I am looking forward to see how the read of the Saints & Sinners stories play out. Kaithlin Shepherd has me completely hooked on this series!

Thank you Kaithlin for allowing me to read Saved by the Music. I continue to enjoy your writing. As I said in my last review, you have a fan for life.
4.0 out of 5 stars “Saved by the Music” is an emotional story about love and healing 28 August 2016

“Saved by the Music” is an emotional story about love and healing. It was romantic, hot and heartwarming. It is the second book in the ‘Saint and Sinners” series and can be read as a standalone. However, I would recommend that you also read “Heart of the Music”
.
I first met Sam in “Heart of the Music”. I was intrigued by him and was glad to hear that his story would be next. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a copy. (Thanks, Hot Tree Promotions). I liked him in book one, but by the time I completed this installment I was head over heels in love with him. Not only is he hot and sexy, he is humble, kind, caring and very protective of those he loves. This was evident in his interaction with his band members, Ashlee, and his mom. Sam is the kind of guy who is always looking to help others. He is a firm believer in paying it forward. Someone had looked out for him and saved him from a life of destruction. To show his gratitude he got involved in charities where he could provide financial as well as emotional support to kids who came from abusive homes or who were abandoned by their parents. Despite all of this he was still not fulfilled as the one thing he desired, he did not have and that was someone to complete him. He honestly believed that he did not deserve such happiness. However, when he got the chance to work alongside the woman that he was attracted to from the first time he met her, he realised that this was time for him to go after what he wanted. However, someone from his past was intent on dismantling everything he worked to achieve.

Ashlee Daniels is a consultant who works with philanthropists and non-profit entities. Her specialty is non-profit start-ups, program development, and campaign planning. This made her the perfect person to help the members of the Saint and Sinners band launch their charity project. She was glad to take on the task as she needed the additional funds to help ease her mounting financial burdens. However, being the consummate professional she feared that being in such close proximity to the one man who could get her hot and bothered by just a mere look would lead to career suicide. Would she be able to work alongside him and maintain her objectivity or will she succumb to her innermost desires?

Ashlee is hardworking, kind, independent and proud. She chooses to shoulder her burdens on her own as she hates asking for help. I loved how she was there for her mom. She made so many sacrifices for her which made me appreciate her even more. It was evident that she had a big heart. It’s understandable why Sam was so taken with her.

The romance between Sam and Ashlee was not without its obstacles. Ashlee was having a tug of war with her feelings, while Sam’s past threatens to derail their budding romance. I thought they were great together and found myself rooting for them and hoping that their love for each other would triumph.

The story was well written and I found it to be engaging and entertaining. This installment was very emotional in comparison to “Heart of the Music”. I can’t wait to see what is in store for the remaining band members.
