Product Description

"I LOVE this book. One of my absolute favorite reads of 2016. I want…no, I NEED my own savage!!!” ~USA Today bestselling author Natasha Knight
***A standalone HEA romance!***
Where is Kiro?
He’s the lost Dragusha brother, heir to a vast mafia empire—brilliant, violent, and utterly savage…and he’s been missing for years.
I'm supposed to be doing simple undercover research at the Fancher Institute for the Mentally Ill & Dangerous, but I can’t keep my mind off Patient 34. He’s startlingly young and gorgeous, but it’s not just that. He’s strapped way too tightly to that bed. And there’s no name or criminal history on his chart. What are these people hiding? My reporter’s instincts are screaming.

Here's the other thing: the staffers here believe he’s so sedated that there’s not a thought in his head, but I catch him watching me when nobody’s looking. Our connection sizzles when I enter the room. When our eyes meet, I know he understands me in a way nobody else ever has.
I’m supposed to follow my editor’s orders—I have secrets, too—but everything about Patient 34 is suspicious. How can I not investigate?

Reviewer's note: this is the third instalment of the Dangerous Royals series. I would highly recommend starting from the beginning with Dark Mafia Prince.

The final (and most eagerly awaited) book in Martin's Dangerous Royals series, this follows the third and final brother, Kiro, after he has awoken the interest of Bloody Lazarus. Although it is a departure from the darker nature of the rest of the series, I actually enjoyed this one much more, due to its originality and Martin's perfect characterisation of Kiro, and deep sensory descriptions of the forest and wildlife.

Though few, the sex scenes had enough animalism and passion in them to get my heart pounding - I just wish there had been a few more. Perhaps it's my pervy self speaking, but this series has felt like it should be super sexy, yet always slightly let itself down in that department.

I found that I could imagine Kiro's character, his quiet but brutal nature, absolutely brilliantly in my mind, the way his eyes, his face and his actions expressed much more than words, with the juxtaposition of the PTSD-suffering journalist, Ann, whose life revolved around them. This was a deeper level and I loved watching how their relationship and understanding of one another grew. I particularly enjoyed the detailed descriptions of survival methods, and learning about both characters' backstories.

I've also very much enjoyed the POV chapters from Lazarus, particularly in regards to his relationship with his business guru, and how absurdly brilliant an idea this was on Martin's part.

This was a satisfying, original ending to a series that has successfully changed tone and theme, from dark and mafia to more suspenseful and thoughtful.

5.0 out of 5 stars I was so happy to finally read Savage Mafia Prince by Annika Martin 19 November 2016

I was so happy to finally read Savage Mafia Prince by Annika Martin, it was sitting on my kindle calling me. Kiro is the youngest of the three Dragusha brothers who were all separated at a young age. Kiro found himself raised by wolves in the wilderness, he is unaware that his life has always been in danger. The man that wants him dead has tracked him down, will his brothers get to him in time to save him? This savage Adonis is so worth the read.

Kiro, he has been put through a a lot and now finds himself in a institute for the mentally ill and dangerous, he is strapped and kept under tight supervision. Kiro's strength is like no other, his senses are powerful and his beauty alone can be used as a weapon. When journalist Ann undercover as a nurse finds herself in front of patient 34, her reporter instincts go off and believes that their is a story behind this gorgeous man that she should be fearful of, but the connection she feels towards him drives her into protective mode.

I loved every story in The Dangerous Royals series, Kiro's story is the binder that brings the reader the closure needed for these Dragusha brothers. Kiro is a savage when it comes to protecting those he loves and he is also a savage when claiming the woman he wants...Omg!!! His savagery is spine tingling. This is one suspenseful, beastly passionate and heartfelt 5 Star read!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great concept, laid low by inconsistent writing voice and uneven pacing 4 November 2016
By Mady Rivas - Published on

This series had a great concept, but the by this third book, it had lost a lot of its charm. The first half of the book dragged - too much time obsessing about the kitten (which was pretty stupid until we find out very late that the kitten thing was caused by PTSD), too much build up to the big escape. Then the climax happened, and the book ended. Seriously unfulfilling wrap up.

This whole series suffered as well from the author not firmly landing on a writing style. If you read The Kinky Bank Robbers, this author wrote in a hyper-realistic style, letting you suspend belief because she built a world where the actions her characters took were believable within that world. Sadly, she slips in and out of this style, making you question things like - why has Kiro not dwindled into a matchstick after lying in a bed for a year? I really liked that he had super senses, but that only worked when they in the over the top action scenes. Lazarus and the life coach were great - her best writing was in those scenes.

This really was a 2.5 star read, but I like this author, and this story concept. Since Lazarus is still out there, maybe we will get to revisit this world. I hope if we do, that the author works out a way to blend the "typical mafia read" with "hyper-realism" so you stop saying to yourself, "That would never happen".

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic conclusion to this trilogy 14 October 2016

Savage Mafia Prince (Dangerous Royals Romance #3) by Annika Martin
4.5 stars!!!

“I used to say that the story begins where the comfort zone ends…”

Wow, what a conclusion to this totally compelling series that Annika Martin has delivered. I love my Mafia books and this whole trilogy has been suspenseful, intriguing, intense and extremely hot. The Dragusha brothers were all totally different, separated as children and finally reunited. While they missed growing up together their similarities in temperament, their actions and their morals definitely bonded these men together. These guys don’t love easily, but when they do, they are all in. All three were intense, passionate and protective and god help anyone that endangered either themselves or their partners.

Each book in this series centres around one brother while the plot lines from the very first book continue throughout the series. Dark Mafia Prince was Aleksio, Wicked Mafia Prince was Viktor and now it is the turn of, Kiro, in Savage Mafia Prince. Kiro was the youngest brother, ripped apart from his family as a babe in arms. He knew nothing of his past or his family and having escaped from the home he was placed in, he grew up in the wild, with the wolves, he was a real life Tarzan. Kiro feels at home with dirt under his feet, fresh air and wild abandon not in an asylum in a drug induced vegetative state which is where he finds himself at the start of this story.

“He’s a force of nature. Pure aliveness. Pure power. He’s the most ferociously hot thing I have ever seen. The most dangerous thing I’ve ever seen. Barely human. Savage Adonis.”

Nurse Ann is an undercover journalist who has had her fair share of stories in war zones and battle fields. She has her own demons but now she needs to re-establish herself as one of the most sought after journalists after her last job hit the skids. Hired to investigate a potential drugs ring within the hospital her nursing background comes in handy and cements her firmly in the right place at the right time.

Nurse Ann has her patients and none are more intriguing than Patient 34, a young man kept sedated for the safety of the staff and allegedly himself. Patient 34 was a wild one, had no respect from any of the staff and was treated appallingly, but it stunk, and being the investigative person that she was Ann knew that there was more to Patient 34 than met the eye.

“I wanted the savage story. Now I’m in it.”

Kiro a.k.a. Patient 34 was clever and cunning, he acted the part of the sedated patient but through sheer determination and strength he had found a way around his drug induced haze. Oblivious to the fact that Patient 34 is alert Nurse Ann shows him compassion and uses his lifeless body as a sounding board to her troubles and woe. She shows him affection, something that he has never had and it soon becomes apparent that Patient 34 has developed feelings he never knew existed and never knew he wanted.

“If you don’t know your own story, it controls you. The ignorance of your story is hurting us.”

With Lazarus still gunning for Kiro it is only a matter of time before he is found and the race is definitely on between him and Aleksio and Viktor. Lazarus, determined to prevent the prophecy from coming true and Aleksio and Viktor, determined to keep their family together and take their proper place. But once Ann unearths the truth about Patient 34 will she be an ally or foe?

The chemistry between Kiro and Ann was palpable and being the wild, caveman that he was Kiro’s actions and reactions were primal and feral leading to some rough, raw and uninhibited scenes. Finding a mate was a base instinct an act all about the release and the claiming, but Ann shows Kiro love and Annika Martin depicted this perfectly. His metamorphosis from caveman to lover was stunning.

“You’re mine to feed. Mine to care for…Mine to f***…Mine to make come.”

This was a fantastic culmination to an unputdownable trilogy. I have loved this series from the very beginning and to see its conclusion is kind of bitter sweet. The Dragusha brothers are certainly memorable and this will go down as one of my Mafia favourites. This is a trilogy that I can highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite reads of 2016! 4 January 2017
By C. P. - Published on

First of all, really loved the two principle characters. I am crazy in love with Kiro, and would read anything else the author chose to write about him. He is an incredible mix of fierce warrior with vulnerable gentleness that has made me fall for him unlike any other literary character in a long time. And seriously loved Ann as well. She's so smart and strong, and when ***possible SPOILER alert*** Kiro "kidnaps" her, instead of throwing a crying hissy fit, or even worse juvenile behavior, she simply bides her time to develop a plan to escape, even if unsuccessful. Also love the great storyline here, and the hunky wild-man spiriting his love into the forest to escape the bad guys and survive the elements is one of my favorite plot devices, and I do mean favorite. So if anyone out there knows of other stories in this genre (not necessarily mafia) PLEASE shoot me a message, if not on here, than Goodreads. Especially love how Kiro comes to the realization that he needs to return Ann because that's what SHE wants, that in the end her happiness is what he truly desires, in spite of his supreme loneliness. That's what breaks my heart about him, he has been utterly alone before Ann. Of course, Ann realizes he is all she has ever wanted or needed in the end, that there is probably no one in the world who will ever love her like Kiro.

1.0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed the other two books but this book ruined it 2 November 2016
By Amazon Customer - Published on

I enjoyed the other two books but this book ruined it. I actually thought this dude must be some mythical creature or something.

No man who's been entrapped in a cell for one year "being still" and another two years being literally strapped down by 4 points and being heavily drugged during that entire time is in no way able to function to the degree he did in this book. Most certainly he wouldn't have been massively muscular. Reality is he would have and should have actually been practically unable to even walk....let alone immediately get up and was able to do all he did in this book. He was strapped down 23 hrs a day and heavily drugged daily FOR TWO YEARS !

It's not even possible, let alone have a body of a God at the same time.

And when his brothers finally found him, it could have been an amazing and emotional moment but again was lost due to the impossibility of Kiro's super human capabilities. Nope he didn't lose his sniffing capabilities even though he was shrouded by antiseptic hospital smell for two straight years.

What a total let down. I don't get the 5 star reviews because this story has not one shred of realism to it. Throw in a whack reporter that can't ever shut up about some kitten she just had to save... through the ENTIRE book was the nail in the coffin for me.
