Product Description

Zac Montclair's first priority is to protect his people. With the escalating war between factions of shifters over land and resources, he has agreed to an alliance between his polar bears and the Shadowcat Nation of cougar shifters. But the treaty comes with a condition…he must accept one of their Seers into his Timik and put her under his personal protection.

Sarai Bouchard doesn't need her supernatural gift to know that Kyle Carstairs's obsession with controlling her ability will eventually result in her misery and demise. Her power is essential to her people's survival, so when Kyle goes rogue, she's sent to Zac Montclair to keep her safe. However, her visions reveal that while staying will lead to their becoming lovers, it also leads to his death. Leaving Zac will result in her own.

If Sarai can't find a way to change the future, she will be forced to choose…save her lover or save herself.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT!!! CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF SHADOWCAT NATION SERIES. EACH BOOK CONTINUES GETTING BETTER!!! 25 May 2015

I absolutely love Abigail Owen's books. I have been following her since Blue Violet. With each book her writing becomes better, and trust me when I say it didn't need improving. This book is my favorite in the series so far. I have a hard time putting into words how amazing and sweet and tough our hero is. Zac montclair is my favorite hero out of all of them. The heroine, Sarai pretty awesome herself and a perfect match for the hero. I can go on and on about this book, but instead I HIGHLY SUGGEST READING IT. Actually I suggest reading ALL of her books. When I pick up her books, I have a hard time putting them down. Then after I finish them, I read them again and again until the next book comes out. The best thing about Abigail Owen's books are the heroines are tough enough to protect themselves and the hero's are strong, yet not so arrogant that you hate them. The ONLY thing I did not like is there is one f bomb in the book. It was totally unexpected and not in any of her other books in this series. I really hope she doesn't add it again. I can not wait for the next book in the series. And the next book she writes. Abigail Owen is definitely on my MUST pre-order book list. So far there's only one other on that list because I am extremely picky.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cuddling a polar bear! 19 May 2015
By PansyPetal - Published on Amazon.com

As I mentioned in my review of Andromeda’s Fall, I couldn’t wait to read Sarai’s Fortune. It lived up to my expectations and will make my “worth-a-second-read list. I loved it! Although I suppose you could read Sarai’s Fortune as a stand-alone, I wouldn’t advise it. Shadowcat Nation is really meant to be read as a series. Each book builds on the previous story.

The hero Zac is this wonderfully cuddly teddy bear. Okay, I exaggerate. He is a Polar Bear shifter. In human form he is close to seven feet tall. HUGE! Rather on the scruffy side. Very intelligent. Alpha of his “Timik.” Very protective of those he loves. Not someone to mess with really. But under all of that, he does have a heart, and he does like to cuddle – with Sarai anyway. And frankly, I don’t think I would mind cuddling with him. I like bears.

Sarai, however, is a cougar. I mean like the wild cat kind of shifter, not an older lady dating a younger man. She is actually a bit younger than Zac. She has had a hard time of it. A really nasty man/shifter has made her life a living hell. She is finally away from him, but he is still stalking her and she doesn’t feel safe at all. She needs some heavy duty protection, and Zac seems the perfect one for the job.

It was so very obvious from the very beginning that Zak and Sarai were “fated mates,” even if it is rather unusual for different shifter species. Well to me anyway, and I didn’t need Sarai’s seer power to see it. They just played off each other so well. It didn’t matter if they were arguing or making love, although it seemed to take forever before they got around to the loving part. They had so much to overcome and work through. I enjoyed their dynamic.

The non-stop action of the story kept me clued to my reader. All the twists and turns are exciting and definitely held my interest. Not only was it confirmed that there are layers of bad guys, and that we don’t have a clue who – or what – they are, but there are other “powers” out there too. I really enjoy how the overall story arc continues to be built. It is fascinating and has me eagerly awaiting the next book.

The romance between Zac and Sarai was brought to a very satisfying conclusion, but there were a few possibilities for future stories. Who will it be next? I can’t wait to find out.

I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting Paranormal Romance 19 October 2016
By Christine B. - Published on Amazon.com

This can be read as a stand-alone, but is more enjoyable when read in order. I was amazed by how strong the heroine was and there weren't any TSTL (too stupid to live) moments. We got to know a little about the hero in the first book and he was absolutely wonderful in this story. The hero and heroine brought out the very best in each other. This story has so much to love, mystery, action, shifters, humor, and steamy romance (not explicit or overly descriptive). I highly recommend this book and I can't wait to read the next one!
4.0 out of 5 stars A book whose series that is quickly becoming addictive! 1 January 2017
By TJ Mackay - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I enjoyed this 2nd installment in the Shadowcat nation series almost as much as the first but much of the first half of the book focused on a thread that was exactly the same as the first book. Once the (same) resolution occurred, however, the book became much more interesting and a lot of fun! The characters were unique and creative and thoroughly enjoyable and the world of the Shadowcats and all their foes is totally addictive! On to the next in the series!
