Amy Harmon, you have written one of the best novels , set in the background of World War 2 during the holocaust, that I have ever read. I was enthralled right from the beginning of how these 2 young people from different faiths ( Jewish and Catholic) shared such deep feelings for each other, especially as they matured. This book managed to capture the emotions of love, hate and loss, but still promoted the " never give up"' ideal. Amy Harmon has researched so accurately the holocaust horrors, nazi trickery, and cruel suffering, both emotionally and physically, endured by the people in Italy, mainly Jews during World War 2. I found it hard to put this book down, but just as I reached for an extra tissue, I read the epilogue, which certainly proves that faith and the " never give up" attitude, certainly conquers all. A fitting conclusion to this wonderful story.
