I would recommend these drives only to those who need portable data that doesn't change often or only needs to be read back. If you plan to write a lot of data to these drives you are going to spend a lot of time waiting.
Test result using robocopy to copy a 3.3GB windows 10 ISO from/to NVME SSD:
Speed : 79947057 Bytes/sec.
Speed : 41724372 Bytes/sec.
Speed : 77315062 Bytes/sec.
Speed : 303095766 Bytes/sec.
Speed : 269308189 Bytes/sec.
Speed : 280213972 Bytes/sec.
The speed I am getting for this unit is around 15 MB/s. What a waste of time and money.
Within minutes it gets noticeably hot, even with the newer revision (plastic instead of metal). It seems far too tight for some USB ports, requiring a great deal of force to insert or remove that I worried might damage the port.
The only pros I can give are how tiny it is, and that it's relatively cheap for the amount of storage. Unless you need the compact form factor I would avoid this device, as there are far better choices.
I needed a storage device with a low profile for a portable Internet Radio I've been working on. Previously I had portable laptop hard drives hanging off my device, which didn't look very professional and placed the hard drive at risk of getting knocked.
This device's ultra low profile ensures it doesn't pop it's 'head' up out of its recessed bay.
The reason why this is just 4 stars was due to the slowness of copying large files. I had to copy the files/folder one by one and not in bulk to make the copying faster.
