Good but Power hungry compared to what it replaces

This was bought to replace a two and a half year old Huawei Mediapad m5 Pro 10" that is going to my mother. The Huawei has the same screen resolution, also has 4 speaker sound, has a wireless desktop mode and also came with a stylus.

My observations:
- Both have great sound for tablets. The Medipad is tuned by Harman/Kardon. S7 by AKG which was owned by Harman/Kardon. Harman/Kardon is owned by Samsung.
- Pro: Both have fantastic screens. The S7 with its 120hz refresh rate wins out. The Mediapad is a really nice display though. I don't really notice the difference that much.
- Pro: Much faster using USB to load media content on the S7. This means I will more likely cycle content on it.
- Much more storage and it is fast. The Medipad storage was only 64GB. It also had MicroSD, but performance on external storage is not good.
- Pro: S7 has high def connection via HDMI which is nice but I will never use it
- Pro: S7 has more and faster memory and much better performing CPU. It is snappy. I don't play games and most of my use cases won't benefit but it is nice.
- Pro: More sensors. Maybe worthwhile. Not used yet though
- Pro: Support for newer BT and Wifi standards. I seldom bluetooth connect anything with this. Wifi 6 is unlikely to be used.
- Pro: Camera is much better. Not sure how often I'd be taking photos or videos with a tablet when I have a phone though.
- Con: Battery consumption on the S7 is woeful compared to the Huawei The CPU is meant to be more power efficient. (Perhaps I turn off 120hz display, maybe look for other background stuff that is Samsung specific, ???) This is the killer for me. The fast charge on this is faster than the mediapad's fast charge, but I've never had to charge the mediapad in the middle of the day. After a full charge, 30 minutes of browsing with edge and battery is down to 89%. I hope I can optimise battery usage over time.
- Con: The Stylus' capacitor charge doesn't last long compared to the Li-Ion battery in the Mediapad's stylus

I have had this tablet for about a month. It's my first tablet and I wanted it to organise my life with google calendar and take notes. The stylus is great though I often worry about losing it. I bought the Samsung cover sans keyboard and it has been fine so far. I don't often type on my tablet. I primarily use the stylus to take notes, which was my intention when I bought this tablet. Samsung note has been surprisingly good at converting my handwriting to text.

I think Samsung caught up quite a bit to iPad even with apps.
Hardware-wise, Samsung was always ahead of Apple with their display, ram capacity and etc.
S Pen feels like you are writing on a paper, as compared to iPad, which feels like you are just writing on a glass.
Very impressed and looking forward to continous updates.

It's beautiful and well made. Stella build quality and a zippy processor. Have been watching Netflix on this the last 2 days. Not an artist but avid note taker, the pens is very responsive. Only con is the 15W charger, takes over 3 hours to fully charge. Battery lasts me approximately 10 hrs with mod/heavy use

Very happy with the quick delivery via Computer Alliance. Still getting to know my tablet so can't really give a full review of the product, but so far, so good.
