Salvaged (Saints of Denver, Book 4) Kindle Edition
The next book in the smoking hot SAINTS OF DENVER series from NYT bestselling author of the MARKED MEN series, Jay Crownover
Hudson Wheeler is tired of being the nice guy. He’s ready to start living in the moment but when he meets Poppy Cruz, her sad eyes hook him in right away. Wheeler can see Poppy’s pain and all he wants to do is take care of her and make her smile, whatever it takes.
After a lifetime of being hurt, Poppy’s determined to keep herself safe by keeping everyone else at arm’s length. Wheeler’s sexy grin shouldn’t captivate her, but every time she’s with him, she can’t help being pulled closer. Though she’s terrified to trust again, Poppy soon realizes it might hurt even more to shut Wheeler out – and her intense feelings are making it near impossible to resist him.
The only thing Poppy is sure of is that her heart is in need of some serious repair, and the more time she spends with Wheeler, the more she’s convinced he’s the only man with the tools to fix it.

And so the Saints of Denver series comes to an end - sad panda.
But this book. This book is everything about the the SoD.
If you have read the earlier Saints books or the Marked Men, you will have met Poppy before - she is Rowdy's girl Salem's sister, and she has has a sh!tty time.
Since I first read her, I wanted - no, I needed more. And what Ms Crownover has given us was so much more.
Buyer beware - do not go into this story without tissues handy. Neither Poppy nor Hudson's story is all sweet and cute.
It is tough, gritty, raw and heartbreaking. However, through it all there is hope, and our lovelies clung to that hope like their lives depended on it.
Heck, I clung to that hope, I needed them to make it together. I loved the way they helped each other ,healed each other.
"We all need someone to bring us in from the cold."
I just wanted to hug the crap out of both of them. They wormed their way into my heart and I couldn't help but hurt for them, hurt with them.
Gah, see, I am still an emotional mess writing this review.
I loved seeing snippets of the characters from the MM/SoD series pop up, gave me a big old smile, like I was catching up with old friends.
So Salvaged - buy it - read it - love it

I strongly recommend that you buy the series from the start -Levelled. Whilst your could read this book as a standalone, I feel you would miss out on back story references.
The SOD series started after the Marked Men series but you don't have to start with the MM series first.
Back to the book, I agree with other reviewers this has more romance and less angst. Both the lead characters are lovely. The book is sweet, not dentist requiring sweet, but more a tug at the "feels" sweet.
In short Poppy is an abuse survivor and Wheeler is a man who has bettered the cards dealt to him to become a garage owner and restorer of classic cars. The two are drawn to each other due to what the have overcome not because they are broken. It's a little rougher than boy meets girl, girl kisss boy etc, but it is sweet, warm and best of all shows the power of tenacity.
For readers of the series the ending is exactly what you would want.
For those new to Jay Crownover - trust me you will love the series, and there are a lot of other books written by this talented and generous writer.
It was a beautiful love story that had some grit and glimpses into the other SOD & Marked amen characters too! I loved that we got to see Poppy go from victim to survivor with Wheeler's strength and connection helping her, and her devotion to Jim helping him through his journey!!
I absolutely loved it and am sad this is the last book in the SoD, but I look forward to the other series that Jay Crownover writes so well!!
Loved it so so much. I am so happy that Poppy and Wheeler found each other.
I am floating somewhere higher than cloud nine. Yes i am gutted that its the last book featuring my favorite hot men. But all good things need to end and the ending was amazing
I am so glad Poppy's dad got what he deserved. So sad her mum did what she did, i suppose it was years of condtioning. Zak, Wheeler's grandad i actually thought he was Wheeler's dad. So glad Wheeler has family.
