Product Description

I'm supposed to take her life. I'm going to take her body instead.

They call me a Saint, but I’m a f**king sinner.

Ruthless. Coldhearted. Killer. I was young when my parents took off and left me alone to fend for my two younger brothers. I learned to survive. I learned to fix problems, by any means necessary.

Which is exactly what I do for the Dark Saints - the Irish crime family that raised me as their own. I make the secrets stay in the shadows. I make the bodies disappear. I make the problems go away. I owe them that much.

That is, until she walks in and sees me with a smoking gun in my fist and blood on my hands.

Sierra Hammond - the kind of good girl who wants to pretend she’s bad by hanging out in the rough parts of town. But this time, she stepped into the wrong bar and ran into the wrong man.

I know the rules, and I know letting her walk out of there alive breaks every single one of them. But one look into those big brown eyes, and one touch of those sweet curves writhing and fighting against me, and I know I’m done.

I’ll start a war.

I’ll break every vow.

I’ll move heaven and hell to make her mine.

F**k the rules, I’m taking her instead.

**This is a standalone book with a HEA and NO CLIFFHANGER!**

The beloved Hammond's are back, and this time we get to meet the 'Good Girl', Sierra. I have loved this series. The characters are strong, even in their weakest moments. Liam the hard headed tough guy that raised himself and his family, the fixer. Sierra, the good girl with her head screwed on the right way, only it's not , her life is unraveling. You can't help but connect to these characters, a testament to Aubrey's amazing talent. A great thing about this series is you can read them standalone, but I do recommend reading them in order
1: Thief
2: Sinner
3: Saint

Sierra's family think of her as the academic whiz, life heading in the right direction, or so everyone thinks. Sierra is struggling with her life and what she wants from it, she's just committed a criminal offense after discovering her now ex cheated on her. It's after that confrontation she sees a sexy man across the room, and for the first time she does something spontaneous, kisses the sexy man,and her life changes forever when she witnesses a murder, gets kidnapped, and feels guilty for thinking her kidnapped is hot. Stockholm Syndrome anyone?
8 years after the worst night of Liam's life, he feels out of sorts, the meeting with the Russian and the Ukrainian isn't sitting right. When he is suddenly kissed by the most amazing woman, he's thrown even further into confusion, then she runs. Once in the meeting, things aren't still sitting right, before long shots are fired, and the woman that kissed him is a witness, now the hard act becomes a life altering choice, kidnap not kill.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Burning Down the House" - Talking Heads 8 April 2017
By Susan H - Published on Amazon.com

Another great signature offering from Aubrey Irons. This story is incendiary hot!!! Seriously smoking hot. Our female protagonist, Sierra is having a "quarter-life" crisis which turns into a full blown evening of revenge on her pencil-d***ed boyfriend when she catches him with some groupie engaged in oral on him. As insults demeaning Sierra are bandied about by her now ex boyfriend, his groupie, and his band mate, Max; Sierra smiles her secret smile because after imbibing on quite a bit if available vodka at her ex boyfriend's practice space she set the whole place on fire. She is now an arsonist...a very drunk arsonist as that. She waits at the bar continuing to drink waiting for her lame ex's band to take the stage. It is then that she sees him.
"And that’s when I look up and see him just as he steps into the bar. I’d say he’s gorgeous, but gorgeous doesn’t quite cover it. Gorgeous makes him sound pretty or primped to perfection, and he’s neither of those things. The man is dark and brooding, like a storm cloud rolling onto a shore. He’s tall and broad-shouldered, and even though the lighting is terrible in this place, I can still see how dark his hair and his eyes are. The dim light of the place only accentuates the deep shadows across his face - the strong, chiseled jaw, the hollows of his cheeks, the way his brow furrows as he scans the room. He’s across the bar, and when he suddenly looks up, the light catches something fierce and something piercing in his eyes. And mine are hooked on him. My eyes can’t seem to look away as they drink in the storm clouds of his face, the lightning in his eyes. Those utterly perfect lips. The tattoo ink on his neck, peeking out of the collar of his tight black t-shirt and leather jacket."- Sierra
In her alcohol fueled state she is compelled to move toward him and she just spontaneously kisses him. Surprise, surprise he kisses her back. Connor has no time for the intriguing Sierra because he is there as the fixer for the "Dark Saints" to meet warring gang factions. The meet goes sideways and they end up shooting at each other and inebriated Sierra walks in on all of it as it happens. Connor knows he should simply eliminate any witnesses. He hesitates and simply kidnaps Sierra instead.
After navigating some interesting situations, all manner of challenges and overcoming the general mutual mistrust, they both discover and give life to their strong sexual attraction. It is a breathtaking electrical sexual heat and desire that is written so beautifully, so excitingly, so to make your mouth dry and you pant for how well Ms. Irons writes an erotic love scene.
There are many twists and turns in the story. This one is ever so hard to put down. You just want to read until the final scene. I believe you will get a huge smile when our Sierra has "burned down the house again" So if you love it filthy sexy, dirty and proven quite exciting!!! This story will surprise you at the very end. One click to set your own fire burning.

4.0 out of 5 stars You'll wish your mistake turned out so well ! 20 April 2017

This was my first read from author Aubrey Irons and I liked it!
While the theme of the story has been done before and there weren't a lot of surprises, the writing flowed well and the plot line was well thought out and engaging...I was never bored because the action kept a steady pace. Connor and Sierra were good together, believable, with just the right amount of angst and steam.

I love a series where the books can be read as stand alones, because I don't like cliff hangers and even though there is cross over and recurring characters the author offers enough explanation so you don't have to feel like you've missed something if you haven't read a previous book. I liked this story enough that I may go back and read the others in the series, but I'm really looking forward to what comes next with the Dark Saints storyline.

Thank you Aubrey for a very enjoyable read!
PS...don't forget to sign up for her newsletter, you'll definitely want the extended epilogue!
5.0 out of 5 stars Another excellent story in the Shelter Harbor series by the amazing Aubrey Irons! 23 April 2017

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I love everything written by this author. This book is extremely hot. Connor is cool and controlled, perfect as the fixer for the Dark Saints. Sent to negotiate a meet between 2 other factions at a dive bar, things go awry when they pull guns and one guy gets shot, so Connor shoots the shooter. But a drunken witness, a college girl who missed him in the bar, mistakenly walks in the meeting room and sees him shoot the guy. Now he had a choice, kill her or take her hostage. He chose option 2, tied her up and threw her in his trunk. Sierra had gone to the dive bar to tell off her cheating now ex-boyfriend, after she had consumed a lot of alcohol! She had been spiraling out of control, not knowing what she wanted in life. Now she was in a trunk and liable to be killed by a gorgeous criminal. The story gets hotter from there. The dialogue between Connor and Sierra is hot and dirty, but pretty honest too. For some reason, he's trying to keep her safe. The bad guys are after both of them and so is the FBI! Does Sierra really have feelings for Connor or is it Stockholm Syndrome? (This becomes a joke). Could she actually fall for a criminal? Could he fall for a good girl? Could they really have a chance for an HEA amid the violence, the mob, the people after them? Read the book!!

This story is not about hearts and flowers. Or mushy love. It's a raw, hard love you don't read about every day. Although it's a stand alone book I like how the author ties it back to previous books written. But you don't have tp read any of them to understand this story. Still I like how together they build a world of bad boys and strong women falling in love.

I had just read the Begging for Bad Boys box set. Which was awesome. Aubrey had a story in there so I knew some of the characters. Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sierra doesn't know who to trust and doesn't go down without a fight. A bad man gone good. There are some wild ups and downs. The extended bonus was awesome too!
