My personal 2020 GOTY. It doesn't get much better than this. Solid 10/10 game. This is my first Final Fantasy game and I finally understand all of the hype. An unforgettable journey with heart-warming characters, an amazing soundtrack and one of the best combat systems ever. The story is fantastic but the real highlight are the over-the-top & out-of-this-world boss battles that will tax your tactical mind of a Hard Mode playthrough. Super minor criticisms are that side missions aren't that exciting and one section of the game is reused in a later chapter. This is the first game in a trilogy to shine a new light on the original PS1 classic. Download the free demo on PS4 to playthrough the prologue. Free digital upgrade to the PS5 version (however, the Intermission DLC must be bought separately) for a flawless 60fps presentation.

I'm 6 hours in and loving it!

Has the same charm of many of the other Final Fantasy games except adds many new features. It's not an open world game if you were looking for that, but the way each level is organised works exceptionally well.

The story is basically the same as the original but has a lot of new cutscenes and basically goes into everything in far greater detail. The combat is fleshed out and will particularly develop the further you progress in the story.

I have a friend who finished his playthrough of this game at around 50 hours, so you'll get some good time with it, but that really depends on how you play.

The level design and music in this game are quite literally “out of this world”, to the point where I often find myself pausing for a moment to admire the views or listen to the beautiful soundtrack reminiscent of the entire Final Fantasy series.

This seller got it to me the day after I ordered. Very good service!

So far I’m loving it, especially because I bought it for $20 from Amazon and on ps5 used the free upgrade for the ps5 copy, then pay $30 for the dlc making it a total of $50 instead of paying around $100 for the ps5 version of the game 🤫 every bit counts. Other than that it’s Definitely worth a try the demo doesn’t do it any justice.

I still haven't actually finished it yet, but it's a damn impressive game. I've seen estimates of around 40 hours to get the platinum trophy which is a bit shorter than current AAA RPGs, but it's still a satisfying run. There's a LOT of extra story and content, so don't expect it to be a faithful recreation of the original. For context, I ran through the part of the story covered in the Remake in the original game first. In the original, it took me approx 6 hours from start to stopping point in Remake. So add in an extra 44 hours of gameplay and story, extra characterization, more context to the AVALANCHE characters so that you get more attached to them.

There's weird extra story that wasn't in the original that seems to have divided the community but personally I really like the additions.

The graphics are top-notch. It feels like playing 40 hours of interactive Advent Children.

If you were a fan of the original back in 1997, this remake will surely bring back memories. A perfect blend of turn-based and action combat mechanics, while staying true to the core source material. As with the original, the game further expands the familiar locations of Midgar, and as with the original, boasts an amazing soundtrack. A very much recommended game for both old and new players.

Look, I love the game, it's just, when you offer pre-order DLC (Chocobo Chick Summon), which for the record was offered on ALL standard game pre-orders, then advise in a chat that you never offered any Pre-order content for the game. It leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

I've heard from others that they received emails with their codes (whom also purchased in Australia)

Well, it's not like my $10 store credit will give me the pre-order DLC.

Would happily increase to a higher rating if the actual code was provided.
