Just about every page has a quotation mark missing, especially in the middle of paragraphs. It mystifies me that Amazon has such a good platform that they could leverage to crowdsource corrections, but decline to do so.
As big books go this is a mammoth. I felt like I was learning a new language at the same time; having said that it is intriguing and well written. I did find myself thinking about the characters and the planet Dune when I wasn’t reading it which is a compliment to the author. I particularly enjoyed the ecology aspects and knew the author spent a year researching deserts and ecology before he began to write it. With my love of deserts I was intrigued by his descriptions of the different kinds of desert sands and the sounds they make which I believe comes from his first hand study of them. Excellent read if you like the bigger book and plenty of help with the appendices for explanations of words and the technicalities of the book. Pat McDonald British Crime Author
