Product Description

I saved her to give us a second chance...

It was supposed to be my job, but this one's personal. This time, some rules are going to get broken.

No one f*cks with the people I care about. No one.

I knew Carrie was the perfect girl and I let her go once. I'm not f*cking doing that again. I don't care if she's got a secret. I've got mine too. And hell, I don't care if it means I get kicked out of the force.

The Lee family dared to f*ck with her friend, and Carrie may be next. If they take her from me, someone's going down.

She may not have agreed to this, but I made a promise to myself: protect my woman at all costs.

The brass tells me I'm wrong for getting so close.

See if I give a f*ck.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am desperate to read the next one. I found the characters warm and enjoyed that they didn't wait til the end before they got reacquainted. Read the whole book in a few hours and looks like I'm hiding for the day with part 2 .

2.0 out of 5 stars This book is written in first person present tense with ... 13 April 2015

This book is written in first person present tense with alternating chapters - One chapter Carrie, the next Blake. I just wish I had understood that "Part 1" meant that it was going to end right in the middle of the story. I guess I just assumed that Part 2 would be a sequel rather than the rest of the story. And of course, the subsequent "parts" are not Amazon freebies.

4.0 out of 5 stars heart-stopping 11 April 2015
By Claire - The Coffeeholic Bookworm - Published on Amazon.com

Carrie & April went on a ladies’ night out to loose themselves and forget the tense life they’re having. But April’s demeanor changed when she checked on her phone and saw her text. Soon Carrie found themselves outside and everything changes right there and then. April life was at stake and it’s up to Carrie to save her.

Blake Anderson, on the other hand, was doing everything he can to stop and arrest Jessup Lee who’s been terrorizing, kidnapping and trafficking women in the country. A new case of abduction involving his niece came upon Blake’s door and now he’s on to the case.

Now I think Blake may be the sexiest detective alive, thanks to JC Coulton’s wildly imaginative description and steamy scenes. Him and Carrie rekindle an old history and their chemistry was palpable. Plus, the heart-stopping action and cliffhanger ending that Carrie & Blake was on to, really had me excited for the next book!

1.0 out of 5 stars I tried to like this one ... 3 April 2015

but I couldn't even finish it. While I get that the author is trying to be badass, all I'm getting from this book is prejudice and anger. And not from the people in the book. It's great to have an opinion, but no need to beat it into the ground.
Way too much self-reflection on how cool the main guy thinks he is. And the stuff he spouts out ... "I just offered her my jacket, it's not like I chained her to the stove and told her to cook my breakfast bitch!" Is that funny? Ironic?
Whatever it is, it's not for me.

A great read from beginning to end. Dark, twisted and exciting. It's time for Carrie and Blake to hook up for good.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good premise, writing ok, literally part of a story 19 June 2015

The premise for this story is interesting, however, there are times where the story drags on, and other times when important parts are glossed over. It's missing tension between the main characters...and it's incomplete. This is not a standalone story. I don't even feel the need to buy the next part (even with the cliffhanger). Just feel let down.
