About the Author
Sarah Barrie is a bestselling Australian author writing suspense in rural settings. Her debut bestselling print novel, Secrets of Whitewater Creek, earned her a spot as one of the Top 10 breakthrough authors of that year, and her next three books, the Hunters Ridge series, also reached bestseller status.
Sarah has also worked as a teacher, a vet nurse, a horse trainer and a magazine editor.
Her favourite place in the world is the family property, where she writes her stories overlooking mountains crisscrossed with farmland, bordered by the beauty of the Australian bush, and where, at the end of the day, she can spend time with family, friends, a good Irish whiskey and a copy of her next favourite book.

Whoever said small towns have no secrets didn't know about this one...
Just finished this fabulous book by Sarah Barrie and I have to say there were plenty of covered up secrets - at times I had to slow down and read passages again to keep up with the story - and isn't that the truth with secrets? One little fib becomes a whole twisted ball of yarn and when it begins to unravel, everything falls apart. And this is exactly what this story is all about - unravelled secrets.
This is a book full of twists and turns that you don't see coming. It's also full of some some truly awful (as in 'not nice') characters. The ending was unexpected and full of tension. Definitely not for the faint hearted reader looking for a sweet rural romance. Spoiler: If you don't like seeing your hero and heroine get badly hurt, you might struggle with some scenes at the end but they all live happily ever after! Thank God for Mack!
I loved Jordan and Reid and although I was sometimes frustrated by Reid's alpha male dominance, I think he was the perfect match for the very feisty and at times foul mouthed Jordan. The sexual tension between them had me turning pages on my Kindle faster and faster (a good thing!).
Well done Sarah - I thoroughly enjoyed reading your book and am glad I moved it higher up my To Be Read pile. Please tell me Madi and Matt's story will be next! :)
I will look out for other books from this author.

Detective Senior Sergeant Reid Easton was on the tail end of a three year drug investigation, and his research had brought him from Sydney to Whitewater Creek. Working undercover with another of his team, Reid knew he was close – but there was something wrong. Some things just didn’t add up. But he was determined – he had a lot at stake and Reid was never one to give up…
Jordan was in danger and didn’t know it – she also had a secret which she could never divulge; the safety of her dearest friends depended on it. She couldn’t afford to be attracted to the stranger in town – but would her heart listen? Desperate to save her farm from the clutches of the bank, Jordan worked at a frantic pace; but someone was equally intent on her losing it. What could she do? She knew she had to solve this one herself…
Secrets of Whitewater Creek by Aussie author Sarah Barrie is an intense and gripping romantic suspense novel which I thoroughly enjoyed. I read Legacy Of Hunters Ridge a few months ago (which was published after this one) and realised I’d discovered another Aussie author who writes books I love. Filled with tension, twists and innuendos it also shows the loyalty and love of a small town toward one of its own. I have no hesitation in highly recommending Secrets of Whitewater Creek to all.
I did have a bit of trouble with both Joel and Reid's dismissal of Jordan's version of events, and their assumptions, which led to all the trouble in their relationship at the end. It might have worked better had the writer let us know about Reid's sister and her problems earlier in the story. Treated the way it was, Reid's issues with drugs/addiction came as a surprise at the wrong time of the book for me.
But very well done! This is the first work by Sarah Barrie that I've read.
I was hooked from start to finish.
Big twist towards the middle/end of the book that I didn't see coming and I loved it!!
I was super frustrated, horrified and emotional on behalf of the main character until the situation was rectified and the wrongs turned right.
When you become emotionally invested in a character/book - you know its great.
