Product Description

Special Operator T.J. Talbot had watched from afar as his best friend married the love of his life. Raised in and out of the foster care system and nearly ruining his chance to become a SEAL, he figured his Happily Ever After would never be. But Dr. Death plays a heartbreaking trick on him and he winds up being the man’s father confessor, where he makes a promise to the dying SEAL to look after his friend’s wife and baby.

Back in the states, Shannon Moore is grateful for the baby she is carrying, though she is a constant reminder of the man who no longer lives at her side. She is not ready for the attention from the community she receives, especially from T.J. She’s decided to honor her fallen husband by giving her whole life to the child he left behind.

Recovering from his wounds, Talbot is plagued by the depth of the wounds he still carries inside him, as he tries to perform a mission he wishes he was not given. Rebuffed at every turn, he struggles but understands his promise might not be able to be fulfilled. He does not want to take what was never given to him in the first place.

But what starts out as an improbable love story begins to bloom and grow. When Shannon and the child are endangered, he will not quit fighting for the family he now knows he was meant to love forever.

This one wasn't for me. Story line spoiler ahead..... It just was too unrealistic regarding Shannon being so in love with TJ barely 2 months after her husband died who, she also apparently loved. No real build up of why they had feelings for each other. Why did TJ love Shannon so much and vice versa? The sexual intimacies after just having an emergency caesarean were also far from realistic. I know this is supposed to take readers out of their own mundane life but seriously there needs to be a touch of realism. This love just didn't cut it for me, sorry.

Death plays a heartbreaking trick on Special Operator TJ Talbot and he makes a deathbed promise to his best friend to look after his friend’s wife and baby…the woman that he loves in this emotionally stirring romance. I was completely absorbed in Shannon and TJ’s story from the very beginning, while of course there is sadness, it’s not a tearjerker as the story is about life continuing after loss, and there is hope, love, friendship, happiness and passion with some suspense and excitement to spice it up. Once again, I enjoyed my time with SEAL Team 3 and I can’t wait to visit with them again.

4.0 out of 5 stars SEAL promised to care for a dying SEAL's wife and family against enemies, foreign or domestic 2 May 2017
By Guy Reviewing Romance and More - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
SEAL's Promise is about a second chance, including a promise to take care of a dead friend's widow, and if she wants, a marriage as well. Add some suspense of domestic terror cells, and you got a pretty good SEAL romance that contains minimal SEAL abuse.

TJ Talbot, Navy SEAL, made a promise to his best friend, a fellow SEAL dying in his arms... to take care of his pregnant wife. Shannon Moore is very pregnant, and while support from the community is great, and she soon gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, she's not ready to fall for another SEAL, esp. not TJ, her husband's best friend. But TJ had made the promise, and he will carry it through. When domestic terrorists started threatening families of military personnel in the US, TJ knows his duty is to protect his family from all threats...

The promise was poignant and TJ turned out to be nice protective alpha type, but that's what fictional SEALs are, right? TJ is almost flawless, and that made him a little TOO perfect, IMHO. But the story about loss and love again is good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another wonderful story of Sharon's Seals 11 November 2014

Getting to read the rest of TJ and Shannon's story was wonderful. I fell in love with them when I read their novella and have been waiting for the rest of their story. I wasn't disappointed at all. This book has it all suspense, action, romance, steamy sex, hunky military heros and just an downright awesome storyline. Loved how we got to see more of the Seal team 3 guys and their wives. If you are either a fan of Sharon's book or just a fan of military romance this is a good fit
4.0 out of 5 stars I like it but I have issues 10 May 2017

First I need to say, I love Sharon Hamilton books! Especially in audio. In SEAL's Promise,it started and continued in keeping with all my expectations until I got to the hospital scenes. Sorry just couldn't believe some of the physical actions taken by Shannon didn't cause serious issues with her health. I'm trying not to give any spoilers but it's difficult. And then again sex after having a baby only maybe a week prior! No way! And of course in Sharon Hamilton style it was intense! I'm just a little disappointed, it appears these things were thrown in without much research. Will it keep me from reading the rest of the series? Absolutely not. I loved TJ and Shannon's story overall, it made me laugh and made me cry. What more could an author ask of her fans?!

4.0 out of 5 stars Seals promise. 13 November 2014

T. J. And Shannon never cared for each other. Shannon was married to Frankie. Frankie and T.J. was best friends on the seal team. Frankie was killed in action and wanted T.J. to look after
shannon and their unborn child. T.J. didn't know if he could because Shannon didn't care for
him. When they were together they felt a chemistry. I felt they could have given more time after Frankie died but not my story. Once they got together it was hot. Both must let go of their pasts to finally appreciate a new love and treasure a husbands and best friend memory. Read on and see how it all comes together.
