I may have missed it in the description but these seem to increase pronation ... so they are correcting for people who supinate. That thankfully works for me, however that can cause issues for people with a neutral gate or who already overly pronate.
So if your shoes tend to wear on the lateral (outer) edge these may be a good option for you... of you have flat feet stay away.
While I did order my regular size and it fits well without any need to break them in, I understand when people say to size up. Even with adjusting the laces, when I initially put them on, they feel like they're suffocating my feet! What that translates to, for me, is support. My foot isn't sliding all over the place and I don't fear the shoe falling off in the middle of an exercise like with my last pair.
As another reviewer pointed out, the tongue is super thin, but it isn't bad or anything - just different!
I like how lightweight these shoes are, as well. The mesh makes them easy to tote around in a gym bag or in luggage without weighing it down too much.
That being said, they are very light weight, which I love and are very pretty. The photo doesn't show the contrast between the yellow and green as well as it looks in person. I'm hoping that wearing them a bit more might help break them in a bit.
*EDIT* After trying these at the gym again, the pain was just unbearable. The seam was just too tight across my instep on the left foot. I measured the seams and found that there is nearly a 1/4" difference in placement. I cut the seams on one and found some relief, but will stick to other brands in the future.
I will say that if you have any sort of tendonitis in your foot, these shoes will work pretty well to relieve your pain. They have a decent arch (although it could be just a bit higher) and they are nicely padded. Very comfy shoes and they are true to size.
However, when I first started using these shoes they pushed my feet to a side while walking, in a way that I'd never experience before with any shoe. It took me several tries of using them and giving up on them to realise that the main issue was the INSOLE that came with the shoe. It seems that it is for someone with extremely high arches or just completely shaped feet than I have. Using these shoes with the flat bottom was so much more comfortable than with the insoles! I'm not sure If I'd recommend these to anyone though.
