Product description

Product Description

The Gandry tribe has settled down after Moira's arrival, but Ruth still feels that something is wrong. The way Gron is acting makes her think he expected something to be different. They want a family, but it's not happening on it's own, so Ruth makes the momentous decision to ask T'Lax for help, and do whatever it takes to hold Gron's baby in her arms.

This is a 40,000 word novella, and it is recommended that this series be read in order.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet short story. Did want more though ... 12 April 2017
By Coco - Published on Amazon.com

This book was kinda short. I wanted more. They had their baby, then it's 3 years later. The time jump just surprised me. I wasn't expecting it. I wanted to read more after Ruth gave birth. We only get a tiny interaction between Ruth, Gron, and their little one in the epilogue. Also there were things, and two new people mentioned in the epilogue. I guess we'll have to wait till the next book to see what that's about.

Despite wanting more I really did love and enjoy this book, and I loved reading more Ruth and Gron. I absolutely love them. I love their relationship, and I missed them. I also liked the friendship between Ruth and Moira in this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars sweet addition to the Ruth/Gron series which resolves some issues ... 1 June 2017

As others have said this is a short, sweet addition to the Ruth/Gron series which resolves some issues for the characters. Definitely a worthwhile read for those wondering what is going on in their family/tribe.

It took me a while to realize why it left me so unsatisfied compared to the other books in the series. Unlike the others, this is told solely from Ruth's perspective. It made me notice how much I preferred Gron's voice and perspective in this series... partly because his culture was the one which is different and therefore more fascinating to me and partly because I like him better as a character than Ruth and how much how much I like her is how she is seen through his eyes. For me, this book would have benefited greatly from even a few insights into how Gron interpreted what was happening.

5.0 out of 5 stars I cried 26 April 2017

I have read Ruth and Gron books as they wear issued and have greatly enjoyed them. This fourth addition has left me in tears. Lancaster is able to write about a planet as though it were your next door neighbor and make you fall in love with her characters. Well done.

Wow, I absolutely love it. The author did a great job with this book. I was surprise and happy that a fourth book of the series came out for Ruth and Gron. The best ending of this series.
4.0 out of 5 stars I liked it but 13 June 2017
By Nick - Published on Amazon.com

I liked it but I missed hearing things from Gron's point of view. That's what I loved about the first books. Also I would have expected for them to know common frequent words or sounds. For instance Gron obviously knew the word 'no' when Ruth used it. The common head gestures that are automatic like when we say yes we usually nod. Those little things. Other than that it was lovely. I hope we get more like Naomi's book. Its a fun read.
