I loved this book, one of the realist mafia books I've read. It was funny in places but the thing i liked the most was it wasn't like any other story i have read. In saying that though there were a lot of editing mistakes (extra words, missing words and some words that it looked like auto correct had changed) which normally really irks me to the point that i normally stop reading, but i still kept reading this because i needed to know what happened,. It's definetly worth reading and I've just downloaded the second book...

I was so excited when I started this, by about page 10 I could tell I was going to have issues. Let me explain, I am all for strong independent women who can hold their own. But when they are full on alpha and should have a set of balls I just can not deal. I mean Mel was all man not even 1% woman.
I thought I could get past it, well because hot Irish mob boss!! The chemistry and sex between Liam and Mel was HOT and I wanted to fondle Liam ;)
The main reason for the DNF was the fact the story was just not believable for me. For me thats a HUGE deal breaker. How am I supposed to read and enjoy a story that I just do not believe?

So I got to the point that the thought of finishing this book had me like....................just no.

I love bad ass heroines and The Boss is one of the baddest I have ever read bloody melody loved her she was the definition of Ruthless and Liam ahhhh alpha head strong Liam these 2 together were Fireworks the first time they meet is awesome I can tell you 1 thing it's an epic battle and you gonna have to read it to find out her wins that first encounter it only gets better from there and there are diff POV which I enjoyed this book is not for the faint hearted we are talking about the Mob here people I can say I laughed I cried I screamed at my kindle and to bring those emotions out takes a hell of a great writer and JJ you are talented I can't wait to read more about the Callahan's BRING IT ON!!!! Love it. This book is unlike any other. I usually can't handle mafia books makes me wish they would just die. But JJ McAvoy write it in such a way you actually like the main characters even though they are horrible people who don't think twice about killing anyone or everyone. I really enjoy this book. Could't put it down was up until 4am reading until i finished.

I love strong, independent heroines and this book certainly delivered that plus some sexy and dangerous moments. I was hooked on this book, finished it in one night and the rest of the series over the next couple of days! By far the best mafia romance I've read to date! I don't normally like books told from more than two point of views but this book handled it very well, giving insight into other characters' thoughts and background stories whilst still focusing on Mel and Liam.

Ok so I really liked this story - I did not skip sections and enjoyed getting to know the characters. But man, do they live in a dark world. And as it says, they are Ruthless. I don't think I'll continue with the series for that reason.
