Product Description

Things I'd love to say to Ryder Covington...

I hate you more than a hole in my favorite pair of leggings.
Your smirk makes me want to yell in all shouty caps.
You're really gorgeous...until you open your mouth.
Stop looking at me like that. You're not ripping my panties off.

Saying those things to him would be the whipped cream on top of my rocky road ice cream, but I can't, because he's my client. And I'm up for a promotion. Oh, and the little fact that my boss told me to give Mr. Covington everything he wants. But the only thing he wants is me. And he can't have that.

Each book in the Rule Breakers series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It made me laugh, swoon and leave me wanting more. Great characters with awesome connections, be it romantic or friendship wise. It was also nice reading more about the characters from the first book. Great read!

This is the second book in The Rule Breakers series and it is equally as addictive as the first book. It can be read as a standalone, but why miss out on book one? The story, told in dual POV, follows championship snowboarder, Ryder Covington, who is recovering from a broken leg, as he tries to woo interior designer Zoey Reynolds. Ryder doesn't do relationships but he can't seem to get Zoey out of his mind. Zoey doesn't ordinarily do one night stands, and following an epic one night stand with Ryder, Zoey has sworn off men, even though she can't seem to get a Ryder out of her head. Brought together months later during a ski resort project we see Ryder trying his best to get a second chance with Zoey, and Zoey trying her best not to fall for Ryder's charms again. A fun, easy, enjoyable read with some swoon worthy moments and some wonderful characters. A
thoroughly enjoyable five stars from me. I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Rule Maker was a terrific continuation of The Rule Breaker series and a really gorgeous romantic novel. Jennifer Blackwood writes so well, with lots of giggles, revealing inner dialogue, tantalising banter and clever quips. In this book, she balanced the fun with some serious moments and provided opportunities for reflection. I loved The Rule Book, too, but noticed The Rule Maker included a double POV and had more scintillating scenes.
Ryder was halfheartedly assisting his indisposed brother, Jason, to revamp a rundown ski resort. He'd do anything for his brother, but this was a tough ask for the injured, professional Snowboarder, for three reasons - it was not his thing, he disproves and the beautiful, appointed designer was a recent hookup. Whoops! Otherwise, Ryder was a sharp-minded guy who was brutally honest, didn't always use his filter, was cheeky, arrogant, had rules about commitment and suffered from a touch of 'Peterpanitis'. Ryder had a touching backstory and other issues that readers should easily empathise with, so he was very appealing. Designer Zoey was very cute, methodical, had a lot to prove, was ambitious, determined, feisty, driven, witty, observant and loyal. Her normally effective power-plays didn't seem to work with Ryder and all came undone in his presence. Regarding the design job, she was in a professional bind that was challenging, confronting, uncomfortable and very funny. But, she had rules, was programmed to succeed - not to quit (and she had her own story). Ok, let the mind games begin!
I love this narrative and it held my interest throughout. Ryder and Zoey's attraction was electric and they were both drawn to each others' keen minds, beauty and raillery.

Zoey loved her job as an interior designer, and the firm she works for is ecstatic about having another job from the prestigious Covington Family. Zoey has already designed one building for Jason and is excited to work with/for him again. Only she's in for a complete shock when his brother Ryder is the one waiting in her office instead of Jason. How in the world I'd she going to pull off working with him on this project when they've slept together which is one of the company's cardinal rules "Don't sleep with client".... But he want a client then, so as long as it's not repeated it'll be ok. Although she'd the throat punch him than work with him since he left like a jerk in the middle of the night. It doesn't matter that it was just a one-night stand, it was the best night and now she can't stop thinking about him. How is she going to work with him, maybe she should just hand of this project to another designer.

Ryder was torn on his feelings for Zoey. He hated leaving in the middle of the night during what was supposed to be their one-night stand, but he didn't have a choice. Should he have called her, yeah probably but he'd never been in that type of situation before. Now his brother Jason has asked him to step in and work with Zoey on this project since he's home recovering with a broken leg from a snowboarding accident. How can he work worth her on this when 1-he can't so thinking about her and 2-he's not on board with this project. He thinks the place should be torn down, and add much add it positions him to admit he she's with his grandparents that the place should just be sold.

How do Zoey and Ryder decide to make working together on this protest work? You'll have to read THE RULE MAKER to find out. Oh but this romantic comedy was great!
