This book is amazing - from the time I started until the time I finished I think I told everyone I met what I was reading and try and get a copy. For a debut novel this is so different, no way of guessing what is going to happen and a real hold. I did not want to put the book down and for days after I had read it I would find my mind wandering back to part of it. Cant wait for the next one from Scott Baker.
Just fantastic. took two days to read but only because i wanted to make it last. I hope Scott can find time to write more! You will not want to miss this thrilling ride into the past and the theory in time travel can make your head hurt, but in a great way!
This book was pitched as 'Indiana Jones' meets 'Back to the Future' - Two movies I love... but it was so much more than that. It was an adventure of both brain and braun... with enough action to keep the pages turning fast, and enough mystery to mean I couldn't put it down. At all!
Buy it. It will change your life. You'll be thinking about it looooong after you finish reading.
I loved this ripping yarn that spans two thousand years and poses some extremely interesting scenarios. The main character, Shaun, rings true as the academic turned action hero by necessity. I loved the background science that keeps The Rule of Knowledge on the edge of possibility. Some of the scenes, particularly the pirate pursuit on the Mediterranean and Saul's experiences as a gladiator, had me holding my breath. Well done Scott, a huge achievement.
