To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I bought the 2 pack dark soft natural rosin for my daughter. She was raving about the quality being way better than her previous ones we've gotten her from music stores (probably all around the same price). It arrived with no damage or physical imperfections to the rosin. The packaging is really nice. It comes in a nice little wooden case. She said it dusts easily and produces a great sound. She also recieved many compliments from her class peers wanting to know where she bought it. She did not want me to write a 5 star review because she doesnt want it to sell out and I will definitely be purchasing it again.
Arrived fully intact, nice packaging, you get a dark rosin (stickier, for winter, or cellos) and a medium light rosin (summer or violins). There are small cleaning cloths in the box but I’m just leaving those in there as protective. Put the rosin in the box face down as they do and you won’t get finger oils on it. Needed no sandpaper or scoring etc just a good rub with the tip. Note you should apply less rosin toward the frog to avoid skritching.
The listing says for Bass but it doesn't say that on the box. Further he kept trying to use it to rosin his bow and his teacher told him this wasn't going to work, it would not come off and apply to the bow. He tried both bricks and neither would apply to the bow.
Worked pretty good . Rosin would break easy if to much pressure from the bow was applied . The sound of this rosin seems to be more of a less deep sound as other rosins . Just enough to notice . I like the sound from this rosin and my violin great if needing a rosin that will give you violin a bit more of an interesting sound to it .
I bought this when my other rosin bit the dust, did some research on whether I wanted a dark or a light rosin but ultimately looked on Amazon also based on price. Saw this as a good price, saw some reviews about them being chipped but figured since I play leisurely it's not too big of a deal. Arrived with one completely fine and the other chipped (a lot have had that review...)- it goes on the bow well, the music sounds fine, and the chipped one and still kind of be used so I'm okay with the purchase overall.
