Em Harris is a TV producer who has ONE last chance to create a successful show before she gets fired. She is tasked with a cooking show and must get a sexy chef named Jacob Hill to sign on.
The book is about how Em is racing to get Jacob Hill to sign on with the show. But since she finds him incredibly attractive and the chemistry is off the charts - she doesn't want to compromise her ethics and cross the line; using sex to get him to sign on.
Jacob Hill is the epitome of sexy chef. Wow. The author does an amazing job of describing Jacob as sex on a stick. He is hawt. Yes, he can get any woman he wants. The guy is a genius in the kitchen. Yet he is humble and comes from humble roots. We love Jacob.
Em is a great character as well. She is not insecure. She is not doing well in her job, but she is still confident in her abilities and is working her butt off to make things work. She doesn't feel sorry for herself. She never compromises her basic values to get Jacob to sign on. She is steady and we want her to get Jacob!
There is a side story with Em's friends and it is fun to read. They are a married couple whose relationship has hit the rocks.
They are sexy, funny and angry with each other. Great addition to this book.
The sex scenes are hot and steamy.
I enjoy this author's books in general.
The characters are interesting and likeable. you want them to get together.
The storylines are not complicated, easy to read, yes a bit fluffy, but in general, fun.
No angst-y issues. Just two characters that fall in love. Nothing super complicated. No ranting nor raving over misunderstandings.
Always a great denouement with a HEA.
What I do NOT like is how she ends her books SO abruptly. The H&h get together with a flourish, then BAM! It's over!!!
Would love at least an epilogue, or ONE or two pages of what happens after they declare their love and everything comes together. Just one chapter more!
But overall, these are fun to read. I know it will not be heart-wrenching nor make me sad.
Just fun and easy to read. I love the ride that this author takes us on. It's not bumpy.
