Rachelle is a master teacher! And not only that, she breaks down plotting in SUCH an easy way that really made the light bulb go off for me. And I've read and purchased many outlining books and programs and have spent hundreds of dollars. The best thing about this book as well, is she breaks down what to do each day, AFTER she explains her method. It's like you have your own plotting coach holding your hand each day. This book helps you apply what you learn tangibly. You're not just learning a method, you are shown how to apply it in your own novel writing and rinse and repeat. Please note, this is perfect for those interested in writing shorter fiction 20k-40k words, also known as novellas. As she breaks down the word count and flowing pace for this length. however, if you desire to write novels, the seven point system will still work. Thank you, Rachelle for making my life so much easier! Since 2011, I have written over twenty books. I'm at a point in my career where I truly want to write a book a month EASILY. This book has been a God-send! Thank you, Rachelle!
This is a highly useful guidebook for serious minded writers who want to kickstart their productivity. The author is very experienced in what works and what pitfalls to avoid. She also is a strong proponent of forming a 30 day writers group who stay in close contact online and work as a team to support one another on what is usually a solo mission. She provides all the guidelines needed to help each member reach their best productivity, hopefully finishing a novel to the end in one month. Highly motivating for groups and individuals alike. I will be referring to this book a LOT as I pursue my author dream.
This is a fabulous resource for up and coming romance writers. I liked it so much that I bought it in paperback and it is definitely a keeper. Ms. Ayala really breaks down romance writing - for seasoned writers and newbies alike. I learned a lot and am happy to say that I was able to come up with an idea for a new novel immediately and started writing it today! The best part of the book was the explanation of how tropes work, something I was honestly fuzzy on before. I figured out I wanted to do a Friends to Lovers book and that's what I'm doing. This book is highly recommended.
