“911. What is your emergency?”
Every night, Zara Llewelyn picks up the phone and assists people in distress. House fires. Assault. Motor vehicle accidents. Home invasions...
Between the hours of six and two, she is the answer to a thousand cries for help. But when the payphone outside Zara’s apartment building mysteriously begins ringing night after night, the very last thing she wants to do is pick it up. And yet, she can’t seem to help herself...
Pasha Rivin’s trying to outrun fate. He’s been running from it for years now, but escape isn’t in his cards. As the oldest son of the oldest Roma family in the country, he’s not just a member of a proud and fiercely traditional clan. He is their reluctant king...and now he’s expected to find a wife.
The fiery redhead that shows up on his doorstep, following a trail of breadcrumbs, hunting for a missing little boy, is the last person Pasha’s mother has in mind, however.
She’s an outsider, an intruder, and as far as his family are concerned, she’s not welcome on their land, let alone in their king’s bed.
Pasha has never allowed his destiny to stand in the way of what he wants, however. And he’s never wanted anything more than he wants the girl with the burning green eyes.

I found the Roma King to be a riddle, wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma and I loved every second of it, turning the pages quickly trying to figure out what was going on. I didn't intend to finish it in one sitting but once I started I couldn't stop.
So many unanswered questions. I found myself analysing what I had read once I finished it, searching for clues.
It was a fresh, new and exciting theme for me and I loved the mystical, otherworldly element and when Pasha and Zara finally come together, it was a melding of two halves. It was destiny, fate and the connection and realisation of love that spans life and incarnations.
I did not see the cliff hanger reveal coming and I eagerly anticipate the conclusion.
Pasha was banished for three years from his family and he has flourished in the outside world in that time. With nothing but distaste for his mother and her rules he also has no desire to go back. But when the dreams of his Firefly persist he can't help but get sucked back into his destiny.
Fiery redhead Zara has been living a half life and not even realizing it. As an emergency dispatcher she receives a troubling call from a young boy whose brother is dead. A haunting call that stays with her - especially after she finds out that he is missing. Following the clues left for her she ends up crossing paths with an alpha male that takes her breath away. But the man in her dreams cannot be real - these things don't just happen.
The deeper Zara dives into looking for Corey the closer she is pulled towards Pasha until their worlds collide entirely leaving them with no choice but to fulfill their fates.
Ending on a cliffhanger the next book should be out sometime in February. Well-paced, well-written with strong characters and a well-built world. Callie Hart is a must-read author for me and this is another spectacular example of why that is so. Enjoy!
A slow build at first with a story line that you are never quite sure where it is leading, we get to know in detail Zara first of all who is a quirky kind of girl with interesting neighbours who are also her friends. I really liked Zara, she has a feisty side to her that came out when you least expected it; and then we meet Pasha - Oh my. he is an anomaly of a man and although at first Zara tries to deny the chemistry these two share when it explodes - BOOM !!! you will need a fan to cool you down it is THAT HOT.
But this is not all about sex and romance, this is about traditions, intrigue, passion, suspense, unanswered question that drive you mad with a secondary story running in the background that is all intertwined and connected in some way but your brain aches trying to figure it all out and then Callie leaves us hanging for book two Roma Queen.
What can I say, I love this author and her work, this book is brilliant and very clever and certainly not to be missed !!!
Book 1 and 2
Pasha is a Roma, a traveler, and through the past, his people were called Gypsies. I do have a few questions though that weren't answered at the end like what happened to Sarah and Archie? I would have liked to see a chapter where Yuri and his son are reunited and that the Petrov's "owe" Zara and Pasha. Lack of birth control was mentioned but months later....?
Overall though the first book is an exceptional 5 stars and the second is more of a chase and a mystery, I hungered to read about Pasha's and Zara's intense relationship but there was little to read about but ROMA QUEEN was written well - 4 stars. I Recommend this series wholeheartedly.

Really enjoyed the twists and how we were gripped to the edge of our seats the entire time. I’ve always said Callie’s books would make a fantastic blockbuster movies, the way it includes all the necessary vital elements to make a success. I’m too impressed I could read it all over again. The sleepless night was totally worth it as I was encapsulated and taken away in a world of the unknown. This is my favourite from 2018!!! I know the talent behind this masterpiece needs to be created methodically and has a specific process but I am a big fan and can barely contain myself from the anticipation of the best book/series!!

The book is wonderfully written. The two leads don't even meet in the first half but you can see their stories slowly intertwining, which I loved. We were able to get to know them both before we saw them together. And when we did see them together... Fireworks. This is one of my new favourite couples. They compliment each other in ways you don't expect and I'm so intrigued by their Roma destinies.

Intriguing and mysterious read from Callie Hart with an intense and passionate love story at the fore. Pasha and Zara had great chemistry and I liked the quirky friendships between Zara and the other tenants.
Looking forward to the next book!
