Product Description

Four years ago, losing the love of my life almost destroyed me.
Years of being labeled and looked upon with disdain by everyone in my hometown almost wrecked me.
Four years ago, I became a mother and together we were enough… until I met him.
He wanted to rebuild my broken —I just didn’t know how to let him.
This is my story, of how one man’s love changed everything I thought I knew about life, love and myself.
Can Levi Eddison prove to be my restoration?

Everything in my world changed the day Braunwyn Daniels walked into my pub.
She was a woman of many contradictions. I recognized the happiness and sorrow each fighting its way to the surface from deep within.
I was drawn to her immediately.
Behind her long legs, chestnut brown hair and beautiful eyes lay a damaged soul.
I needed to change that —I just didn’t know how.
This is my story of how I met a broken girl and vowed to make her whole.
In the end, it turns out I knew nothing about true happiness until Braunwyn Daniels let me love her.

Dear Reader,
Mental Illness is a growing concern in our world today. On the Rocks is about surviving the aftermath of suicide, and believing in love again. Levi and Braunwyn’s love story is inspired by events that impacted the lives of people I care about deeply. I hope you enjoy their journey.

Gillian xx

On the Rocks can be read as a standalone within the Pub Fiction series. Each book however is interconnected, if you would like to get to know the previous couples mentioned in the, start with My Mind's Eye.

On the Rocks was playing out like a movie in my head and I never wanted it to end. Once again Gillian has put her heart and soul into this book and it's a beautiful tale. At the very beginning of this book, you feel right away Braunwyn's (Scrappy) torment and gut-wrenching sadness at losing her best friend and father of her unborn child. Fast Forward years later and Braunwyn is almost finish with school but realizes that in her chosen field she needs to have some people skills. She lands a interview at Pub Fiction which is own and operated by Levi. From his first look at Braunwyn he knows that she's it for him, unfortunately he also notices the sadness lurking there also. With the patience of a saint Levi slowly but surely gets Braunwyn to open up. There's nothing more sexy than a man who knows what he wants and will do whatever it takes to make sure he gets it. This story shredded my heart to pieces, and carefully put it back together again. The strength that these character showed was amazing, and I can certainly learn a lot from them. I loved the fact that Gillian touched on a subject that not many write about but a lot experience. Heartwarming to the very end, On the Rocks took me on an emotional journey of a young woman stuck in the darkness, and the man whose light was making its way into her soul. There were certain characters that I would love to know more about, and of course catch up with in the next installment because this is one author who I will be following.

Favorite Quotes:

“Trust me, Levi is the stuff that the female population most definitely memorizes and stores up in their minds and plays, on repeat, in their version of the ‘spank bank’ (what London and I refer to as the ‘Jill Till’) after taking in the sight of him. Hell, I myself will be playing him on repeat with Mr. Buz.”

“Oh man, the things we’ve seen over the years, I swear the city bus can be just as bad as Wal-Mart after midnight.”

“On the inside, I’m melting into a huge puddle of girlie-goo, into a pool of Oh My God, Did That Just Happen?”

“I’m more than ready for this. I want to love again, Levi. I want to stop thinking about living and actually live again.”

“I want you to be my yestermorrow, always, Levi. The place where my yesterdays and tomorrows will forever cross. I want all my days entwined with yours. I need you to be my past, my present, and my future.”

My Review:

I adored this story and this couple. I frequently crave a sweet and sexy romance where the characters are not in mired in constant angst and conflict with each other, but rather are supportive and pulling together as a united force instead. The plot line was interesting and fresh, and the characters were likable, compassionate, and tender with each other. Despite the occasional heaviness and underlying tragedy and aftermath resulting from suicide, and the years of ensuing grief, the writing was actually humorous, fun, crisp, and clever. I enjoyed their wordplay, banter, and alliteration. And any heroine who enjoys Moscato has an instant in with me. Gillian Jones is a new favorite and is definitely one to watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully Written 8 January 2016

Did you know, Hero's exist! Or at least they do in On The Rocks. Levi is a Hero!

I've not read the first book in this Pub Fiction series 'My Minds Eye' so I came into this completely unknowing of Gillian Jones' style of storytelling and quality of writing. Or of any history there may have been and honestly I'm blown away. This is a standard that is exceptional. I smiled, I cried (and i'm not a crier) I was 100% on this Journey with Levi and Braun from start to finish.

"It took me a moment to comprehend the scene unfolding in front of me. To understand this was really happening, that this was real. That I needed to believe what I was seeing."

Braun has been left broken and has spent 4 years trying to put herself together for the sake of herself and her (awesome) baby daughter, finally taking the step to get a job, at Pub Fiction where she meets Levi, the boss.
Levi, upon meeting Braun wants to repair her but he has no clue what he's in for. As he learns about her he learns about himself and lets just say his life becomes a lot more interesting.

"F*** me if I don't feel like I've just defeated the worlds greatest villain. I fight the urge to pound my chest in triumph."

I find myself not wanting to reveal any of the plot here, not for fear of spoilers but because I truly just want everyone to read this book fresh & blank like I did. With no expectations or prior thoughts.

This book does deal with Mental Health and the effects a person's mental well being can have on those around them or those left behind, but it's dealt with in a way that is both refreshing and realistic. And yet still manages to pull me in with romance and passion and electric drama and hope.

Beautifully written and engaging On The Rocks is more that a love story, it's a life story. And life is a roller coaster.

5.0 out of 5 stars Such A Heartbreakingly Beautifl Story!! A must read 26 January 2016

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This many feels and emotions. It's heartbreakingly beautiful.

Braunwyn thought she had found the love of her life. Suddenly that future is taken away from her and she's left to deal with the aftermath along with being pregnant with her daughter Emmerson. Alone and basically abandoned by her parents her Grams takes her in and for four years Braun does her best to survive. Socially awkward because she's to afraid to let anyone in she basically socializes with her Grams and London who encourage her daily to get out into the world and live again. Nervous for a job interview at a local bar named Pub Fiction, Braun tries her best to not freak out and run. Once the door to the office she's sitting in opens her entire world changes when she lays her eyes on Levi.

Levi is the owner of Pub Fiction and it is his life. His girl. He dedicated to his business and does not have time to have a girlfriend. He's more of the good time love them and leave them one night stand kind of guy. Stressed and needing new hires for his bar he's late to conduct an interview. A interview that is going to change his life forever.

I love the way Gillian Jones puts pen to paper and creates the most amazing stories. I loves very second I spent reading this book. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but what a story and one that needs to be told . Mental health issues affect so many people in so many different ways and they find them self fighting alone . Ashamed and embarrassed because their made to feel that way a lot of the time. Gillian has helped to shine a light on the subject with a story so heartbreakingly beautiful you so do not want to miss it.

5.0 out of 5 stars beautiful story!! 15 December 2015

"...You're a survivor, Braun. Don't you ever forget it."

I'm speechless. I really am. I'm sitting here seriously trying to put into words how amazing this book is. How beautiful the journey was. I know I'm not going to do it justice but I'll try my best!

This is the second book in the pub fiction series. It's one hundred percent a standalone but you should read Levi's brother Ryker's story in book one just to meet Kat and Ryker. I loved My Minds Eye but On The Rocks? wow. It's just completely worlds apart, seriously amazing!

"He is my salvation... My restoration."

Braunwynn was left devastated and broken when she found her boyfriend after he committed suicide. Her world turned upside down. Four years later she is still picking the pieces up and trying her hardest to live again.

Levi Eddison loves his job. His pub is his girl, his baby, he's married to his work and he's fine with that. He has no need for other complications. What he does need though is new staff.

Neither one is expecting the other. It's not going to be simple or easy but both need to figure out if they're going to take the risk.

Oh, God. This girl. This absolutely brave, girl! It just feels like she's been fighting all her life. Fighting to be brave when her family and everyone else turned their back on her. And then the person she loved and fought for the most left her behind. My heart just shattered because now it's up to her to fight for herself and their unborn child. Luckily four years later she has her Grams and her best friend London who are amazing people. I am totally in love with Grams! I laughed out loud so many times at the things she said! Braun's heart is still suffering with the grief of losing and also of living but when she meets Levi and realizes she's feeling something again she tries, it's a journey but once again she proves just how strong she is. I admire her so much and I seriously have no doubt every single person that reads this will admire her too!

And another Eddison brother has made me fall hard. *sigh* Oh Levi you just had to be perfect didn't you?!From book one I actually wasn't sure on Levi's character but I completely fell for him in this book! I was so glad to see more of Ryker but so much more glad to see their relationship as brothers, we get to see some of it in book one but I loved getting to see them together in this one!! Levi was just perfect for Braun, seriously. Every time I just think of him I just want to sigh loudly because he became protective of her, he was her friend, he was so kind and caring of her journey and situation it amazed me and well he's so damn hot! Woah. I just wanted to cry at how loving he was because Braun has been saving herself all this time and she deserved to be saved by someone who will love her and her child and we get that from Levi a million times over.

First of all the three of these together, Levi, Braun and Emme? seriously heart melting. That little girl stole my heart and seeing her with Levi and their relationship grow. gahhh! So. Much. Love. Levi and Braun were so cute, there was always that more than friends vibe between them and they really didn't pretend otherwise that much but seeing them grow that friendship, the scene where their just sitting in the diner together and enjoying each others company is one of my favorite. They are just simply two people who are made for eachother and really deserve happiness and getting to witness that journey, that growth, that love is beautiful.

"I know without a doubt that Levi is my yestermorrow. And one day soon, I plan on telling him so."

I'm in awe of Gillian Jones. Honestly I am because let's be honest no one dares talk about mental health or suicide even when being affected by it. It's first a tragedy then a statistic. But what about the aftermath? What about the people directly affected by them statistics? This is a journey. This is a beautiful story. It's one of heart ache, love, pain and hope. And it's all done amazingly and with care. Amongst it all there's friendship, family, laughs and life. The side characters are all so intriguing and lovable too! I've already fallen in love with Luke. So, yes, he's mine. lol!

This book is life. That's what it is, this is so real and raw and I'm glad Gillian told it because by writing one book she is putting so many peoples story out there and giving hope to so many people too.

5.0 out of 5 stars so close to my heart! 15 December 2015

Review for On The Rocks ( Pub Fiction #2)
I was expecting this book for months, and when I finally had it in my hands I couldn't wait to read it.
This book theme it's close to my heart, it's easy now to say that once upon a time lots of years back I was a seventeen year old girl who just lost her mom to cancer and I found myself desperate, alone and sad, and I thought to commit suicide, but thank God I had and amazing friend who helped me to stay strong, to fight depression, she is still my best human 19 years after I met her. So I can relate to Shawn and what he was feeling, he didn't want to hurt Braun and Emme, he just couldn't keep fighting the dark.
Those first pages were the most difficult to read, but after the tears have dried I couldn't put the book down.
I loved Braun's humans so much!!! They're amazing people, Grams is a diamond , she is like a super woman, taking care of everyone.
London it's funny, and Lewis is a sweetheart.
Emme is an awesome child and I loved her so much.
And now Braun and Levi....
Braun is an amazing character, a strong girl who has to sufer something horrible while pregnat at 18, but she kept going forward for her unborn baby, she fought avery single day to smile again, and when she finally let the guilt behind she found that she could be happy again, she could love again, and that someone could love her again with such force like Levi.
Levi is so so so sweet, he is funny, he is protective, he really cares not just for Braun but for Emme too. He is good looking but his heart is in the perfect place to accept Braun and her past, and to wish a future together.
I loved the pact, it was fresh and funny. All the people included in this book from book 1 was sweet, there wasn't any crazy ex, or something like that. The entire book has no waste.
So please go and pick up your copy and help a great cause.

Love you Gill, and thanks for this great book so full of feelings.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book will not only touch your heart but also your soul 14 December 2015

For me this was a five + stars read

How do you put into words how much you love a book that has had such a profound effect on not only your heart but also your soul.

With great difficulty especially when you have experienced certain things first hand that are mentioned in this story.

So because of that I want to thank Gillian for writing such a beautiful story that highlighted so many serious issues with regards of mental health and suicide and the effects it has on so many people's lives.

Sometimes it's not just the person who suffers with mental health that it effects but also family and friends closest to them.

Braunwyn story doesn't start off all heart and flowers it's actually gut wrenching so be prepared for the tears. But as you get more into her story you will find your self admiring the strength she shows and smiling laughing and loving how things progress for her.

Braunwyn is a single mother who lives for her daughter.
She has a select few she allows to know what has happened in her life and why she is so guarded.
She doesn't date or believe she will ever find love again.

Levi is the owner of pub fiction. He spends most of his time working so he doesn't have time for a relationship or want one. He enjoys his life as it is with out complications

But sometimes life throws you a curve ball and the one thing you thought you didn't need or would have is just around the corner waiting for you to grab it.

This book will take you on one hell of a emotional roller coaster ride but it will be one of those rides that I'm sure a lot of people have already been on at some stage in their lives. This is a must read book and For me personally this book has been my favourite read of 2015. But you don't have to take my word on it but I'm sure once you one click and read it for yourself you'll understand why I say it's a must read and will have no problem recommending it to everyone.
