Product Description

Four years ago, losing the love of my life almost destroyed me.
Years of being labeled and looked upon with disdain by everyone in my hometown almost wrecked me.
Four years ago, I became a mother and together we were enough… until I met him.
He wanted to rebuild my broken —I just didn’t know how to let him.
This is my story, of how one man’s love changed everything I thought I knew about life, love and myself.
Can Levi Eddison prove to be my restoration?

Everything in my world changed the day Braunwyn Daniels walked into my pub.
She was a woman of many contradictions. I recognized the happiness and sorrow each fighting its way to the surface from deep within.
I was drawn to her immediately.
Behind her long legs, chestnut brown hair and beautiful eyes lay a damaged soul.
I needed to change that —I just didn’t know how.
This is my story of how I met a broken girl and vowed to make her whole.
In the end, it turns out I knew nothing about true happiness until Braunwyn Daniels let me love her.

Dear Reader,
Mental Illness is a growing concern in our world today. On the Rocks is about surviving the aftermath of suicide, and believing in love again. Levi and Braunwyn’s love story is inspired by events that impacted the lives of people I care about deeply. I hope you enjoy their journey.

Gillian xx

On the Rocks can be read as a standalone within the Pub Fiction series. Each book however is interconnected, if you would like to get to know the previous couples mentioned in the, start with My Mind's Eye.

Favorite Quotes:

“Trust me, Levi is the stuff that the female population most definitely memorizes and stores up in their minds and plays, on repeat, in their version of the ‘spank bank’ (what London and I refer to as the ‘Jill Till’) after taking in the sight of him. Hell, I myself will be playing him on repeat with Mr. Buz.”

“Oh man, the things we’ve seen over the years, I swear the city bus can be just as bad as Wal-Mart after midnight.”

“On the inside, I’m melting into a huge puddle of girlie-goo, into a pool of Oh My God, Did That Just Happen?”

“I’m more than ready for this. I want to love again, Levi. I want to stop thinking about living and actually live again.”

“I want you to be my yestermorrow, always, Levi. The place where my yesterdays and tomorrows will forever cross. I want all my days entwined with yours. I need you to be my past, my present, and my future.”

My Review:

I adored this story and this couple. I frequently crave a sweet and sexy romance where the characters are not in mired in constant angst and conflict with each other, but rather are supportive and pulling together as a united force instead. The plot line was interesting and fresh, and the characters were likable, compassionate, and tender with each other. Despite the occasional heaviness and underlying tragedy and aftermath resulting from suicide, and the years of ensuing grief, the writing was actually humorous, fun, crisp, and clever. I enjoyed their wordplay, banter, and alliteration. And any heroine who enjoys Moscato has an instant in with me. Gillian Jones is a new favorite and is definitely one to watch.

On the Rocks was playing out like a movie in my head and I never wanted it to end. Once again Gillian has put her heart and soul into this book and it's a beautiful tale. At the very beginning of this book, you feel right away Braunwyn's (Scrappy) torment and gut-wrenching sadness at losing her best friend and father of her unborn child. Fast Forward years later and Braunwyn is almost finish with school but realizes that in her chosen field she needs to have some people skills. She lands a interview at Pub Fiction which is own and operated by Levi. From his first look at Braunwyn he knows that she's it for him, unfortunately he also notices the sadness lurking there also. With the patience of a saint Levi slowly but surely gets Braunwyn to open up. There's nothing more sexy than a man who knows what he wants and will do whatever it takes to make sure he gets it. This story shredded my heart to pieces, and carefully put it back together again. The strength that these character showed was amazing, and I can certainly learn a lot from them. I loved the fact that Gillian touched on a subject that not many write about but a lot experience. Heartwarming to the very end, On the Rocks took me on an emotional journey of a young woman stuck in the darkness, and the man whose light was making its way into her soul. There were certain characters that I would love to know more about, and of course catch up with in the next installment because this is one author who I will be following.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book will not only touch your heart but also your soul 14 December 2015

For me this was a five + stars read

How do you put into words how much you love a book that has had such a profound effect on not only your heart but also your soul.

With great difficulty especially when you have experienced certain things first hand that are mentioned in this story.

So because of that I want to thank Gillian for writing such a beautiful story that highlighted so many serious issues with regards of mental health and suicide and the effects it has on so many people's lives.

Sometimes it's not just the person who suffers with mental health that it effects but also family and friends closest to them.

Braunwyn story doesn't start off all heart and flowers it's actually gut wrenching so be prepared for the tears. But as you get more into her story you will find your self admiring the strength she shows and smiling laughing and loving how things progress for her.

Braunwyn is a single mother who lives for her daughter.
She has a select few she allows to know what has happened in her life and why she is so guarded.
She doesn't date or believe she will ever find love again.

Levi is the owner of pub fiction. He spends most of his time working so he doesn't have time for a relationship or want one. He enjoys his life as it is with out complications

But sometimes life throws you a curve ball and the one thing you thought you didn't need or would have is just around the corner waiting for you to grab it.

This book will take you on one hell of a emotional roller coaster ride but it will be one of those rides that I'm sure a lot of people have already been on at some stage in their lives. This is a must read book and For me personally this book has been my favourite read of 2015. But you don't have to take my word on it but I'm sure once you one click and read it for yourself you'll understand why I say it's a must read and will have no problem recommending it to everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars so close to my heart! 15 December 2015

Review for On The Rocks ( Pub Fiction #2)
I was expecting this book for months, and when I finally had it in my hands I couldn't wait to read it.
This book theme it's close to my heart, it's easy now to say that once upon a time lots of years back I was a seventeen year old girl who just lost her mom to cancer and I found myself desperate, alone and sad, and I thought to commit suicide, but thank God I had and amazing friend who helped me to stay strong, to fight depression, she is still my best human 19 years after I met her. So I can relate to Shawn and what he was feeling, he didn't want to hurt Braun and Emme, he just couldn't keep fighting the dark.
Those first pages were the most difficult to read, but after the tears have dried I couldn't put the book down.
I loved Braun's humans so much!!! They're amazing people, Grams is a diamond , she is like a super woman, taking care of everyone.
London it's funny, and Lewis is a sweetheart.
Emme is an awesome child and I loved her so much.
And now Braun and Levi....
Braun is an amazing character, a strong girl who has to sufer something horrible while pregnat at 18, but she kept going forward for her unborn baby, she fought avery single day to smile again, and when she finally let the guilt behind she found that she could be happy again, she could love again, and that someone could love her again with such force like Levi.
Levi is so so so sweet, he is funny, he is protective, he really cares not just for Braun but for Emme too. He is good looking but his heart is in the perfect place to accept Braun and her past, and to wish a future together.
I loved the pact, it was fresh and funny. All the people included in this book from book 1 was sweet, there wasn't any crazy ex, or something like that. The entire book has no waste.
So please go and pick up your copy and help a great cause.

Love you Gill, and thanks for this great book so full of feelings.

This book hit home in more then one way. I'm going to try my best to not give too much away because I hate spoiler reviews. Braun and Levi are characters that will stay with me for along time. Losing anyone the way Braun lost Shawn is incredibly hard. Braun is someone who is strong without realizing they are strong. Even when she was at her worst she still fought because she had her little girl. As time went on life got a little easier. Then walks in Levi. Levi is a classic male. Sees a girl he likes, but doesn't think he is the relationship type and thinks he only wants to sleep with her. But then he can't stop thinking about her and that drives him nuts. To top it all off, he is her new boss. This story will take you to places you never knew. You will cry, trust me on that my friend you will cry but it will be ok. You will wish for a Levi of your own and you will wish that you could always be as strong as Braun.
5.0 out of 5 stars Emotional, great topic, and great read 15 December 2015

This book is about so much more than a couple finding love.
Braun has been living in the past, afraid to move forward and just life around her daughter Emme.
Levi is married to his pub, and one night stands are all he needs until she walked into his pub.
This is a story about experiencing real love for the first time and letting walls down.

Braun was pregnant when she walked into her bathroom to find her boyfriend Shawn dead at the hands of suicide.
She has lived with guilt, unanswered questions, and a daughter without a father.
With the help of her grams, best friend London, she decides to finish school, get a job and learn to social again.
Braun lives wrapped up in her head, the final words that Shawn left for her, and making sure Emme is protected.
Enter Levi.
Levi is that hot tattoo guy who has everything he could ever want then he sees Braun sitting in his office for a job interview.
Levi has never taken the time to be himself and to always be at Pub Fiction.
Braun makes Levi want to experience life more, but there is something different about her.
Levi decides to start out as friends and they come up with the "Trump Pact" that one can use when they want to take their friendship to the next step which is boyfriend/girlfriend.

It's nice to see a love formed based on friendship first.
Despite their sexual attraction, Levi doesn't push the issue with them.

"You really do heal me, Levi. You make me happy."
These words right here made me cry.

I have been one of these people who are part of the statistics with attempting suicide.
This book is such a slap in the face for me.
When I was at my lowest, I never thought what my family would have gone through by choice to end things because I couldn't go on.
I definitely need to contact my family to tell them sorry that I never meant to hurt them.

Gillian Jones is a writer who helps bring to light a subject that affects millions but also letting us see how someone left behind is left to question everything.

I received this book for an honest review.

Levi and Braunwyn will hit you right in the feels. This book deals with a very controversial topic that almost everyone has dealt with at some point in their lives. Emmerson just pulls you in and soon Levi is hooked. The emotion that this book will pull out of you. There was times I was in tears but I could not put it down for anything.
