Product Description

New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh continues her Rock Kiss series with a hot, sweet, emotional contemporary romance about love and forgiveness…

After a lifetime of longing for a real family, Sarah Smith thought she’d finally found her home with rock star Abe Bellamy, even if she knew Abe didn’t love her the way she loved him. But their brief relationship, filled with tragedy and heartache, nearly destroyed her. Alone, emotions in turmoil, and already shaky self-esteem shattered, Sarah struggles to pick up the pieces in the wake of their divorce.

Abe knows he’s to blame for the end of his marriage. Caught in a web of painful memories, he pushed away the best thing in his life – the sexy, smart woman he adores – breaking them both in the process. Then fate throws him a second chance to get things right, to prove to Sarah that she means everything to him. Abe desperately wants that second chance at love...even if he knows he doesn’t deserve it.

But can he convince Sarah – now strong and independent without him – to risk her wounded heart one more time?

Rock wedding is book 4 and the final instalment of nalini Singhs Rock kiss series.

Nalini is known for her phenomenal paranormal romance writing however has tried her hand at contemporary romance with her Rock kiss series. I believe she excels at everything she has attempted so far and this series is definitely one to check out if you haven't yet.

The best thing I love about the Rock kiss series is that each book focuses on a different band member and therefore we get introduced to many aspects of the rockstar life and see different personalities, turmoils,

Alright, let's get to Rock Wedding. This book focuses on keyboard band member Abe and his relationship with ex wife Sarah, after she renters his life at a festival they attended as part of Rock Redemption. They already had one go at marriage which ended in disaster but let me tell you, this is a second chance story to end all second chance stories.

I had so many favourite moments in this story, it was hard to narrow them down.

I shed many tears in the opening chapters of the book as we get into the past, present and future of both Abe and Sarah. These characters are all portrayed so vividly that we get sucked in and experience everything the characters do alongside with them. A very emotional roller coaster, but definitely a story that needed to be told and explored.

As I like to keep my reviews as spoiler free as possible, I will just end by saying that this instalment will give you tears of joy, tears of sadness and tears of frustration. Tissues probably won't go amiss. Even though I'm sad that this is the end of the series, Nalini has mentioned that we will still see the characters pop up in short stories in the future, which I am so thankful for. I just adore these characters and I hope you do too.

I was gifted a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Meh. It was okay. Took me a while to finish this one. It's a second-chance romance focussing on Abe and Sarah, who'd been married then divorced. I'm not really that keen on books that focus on an addict (of any type), even if they are clean now. And Abe really was horrible to Sarah when they were together the first time around. But Sarah, who has her own demons to face, is able to forgive him and they give it another chance.

I didn't really feel invested in either Abe or Sarah, and sadly, for me, their story lacked an emotional connection or punch. The emotional stuff is there in the plot, but it didn't seem real, and I found myself not really caring. Also, the sex scenes weren't very well-written. They seemed forced (from a writing point of view, that is). Just didn't feel sexy at all. It's sad when I find myself just skimming over the sex scenes!

I would have liked more of the band stuff, as well. There is not a lot in this book about that aspect, and maybe that's why I wasn't really convinced by Abe's character. The other band members appear in cameo roles, but we don't see much of them. The band is on a hiatus during most of the book, but that didn't really work for me.

Ms Singh is going to write a book about one of Gabriel's (a character from an earlier book in the series) rugby-playing brothers. Could be good. Better than this fairly ordinary one, I hope. What with the latest mediocre offerings in the Psy-changeling series, I'm starting think Ms Singh's writing has gone 'off the boil'. She has written some really enjoyable books in the past. Let's hope her future books are back to her earlier form.
