As above, an overpriced paperweight. Aesthetically this radio is ok but after that it ticks no other boxes. Please do not waste the postman's time ordering this, simply the worst sound quality imaginable, if you have a good mobile phone you can achieve better placing it in an empty glass.
Real shame as I have had nothing but good things to say about Roberts Radios in the past as I have one at work, one in the shed and bought one for my uncle for work as a gift and they are excellent but this radio other than looking nice sounds awful.
We bought this for our son and daughter in law for Christmas they love it. Quite a bit smaller than anticipated, but having said that it does show photos of it next to items to give examples of this. I am sure it will come up to scratch when used as it recommended this on ‘ What hifi ‘ magazine.
I bought this as a radio for my bedroom. Its simple enough to set up, the sound is nice, it has quite basic features compared to some digital radios, but my needs were quite basic (I listen to Radio 3, 4 & 6) so its all good for me. I believe it can operate as a clock radio but I have't got that far with it. I'm happy with my purchase
Sadly this radio falls well short of the Roberts name. Sound quality and feel of radio just didn't hit the mark. East to set presets but not easy to recall the presets. Overall not a great radio . I rated it 2 star but just about.
I liked the steel lines on this radio. I bought the blue and it looked lovely and neat. Unfortunately the sound was disappointing not as good as my Pure Evoke -1, or my old Roberts RD 5 radio. I have sent the Rambler back and bought a Roberts RD 70 to replace it. I am happy with the RD 70 sound which has more bass.
I love Robert’s radios. Great sound quality and a fine looking “retro design”. The radio is compact and quite easy to set up. The wire provided is the only concern as it looks very thin and not sturdy enough for everyday use. Radio is exactly what I wanted.
Very nice looking radio. Very sensitive in both FM and DAB. However: - Batteries lifetime is very short, for what it is I would not expect it to deplete the fresh set of batteries in just few days; - Sound is very thin, absolutely no low end (there are portable speakers out there which are smaller and of a much better sound quality).
Nice radio, good sound, easy to set up (once plug issue sorted, thank you amazon). I love the styling on this one more than the classic and it's cheaper too. Haven't used with batteries only use it plugged in.
Bought this to replace a Pure Evoke which went poof after a couple of years. Compared to the Pure its obviously a totally different aesthetic, and very nice too, but the sound is a bit feeble by comparison. I bought mine for the kitchen to listen to the radio while cooking, and with the noise of an extractor fan etc, its really only just up to the job.
This is a beautiful radio, with great sound quality. It also has a good mains connection, with the option to use batteries when needed. I had initially thought it was a little expensive, but when I compare it to other cheaper radios, I can honestly say I feel it is worth it. It has intuitive controls and can be used without having to read a manual for half an hour. Brilliant product!
