I do not like the way in which American authors writing about Regency England use American as opposed to English. It is as if they consider that their audience are not well enough read to be able to understand the language! I happen to know that isn't true. If authors who write in English have to have their books edited by an American editor for the US market then the reverse should apply. This book has numerous errors. Why someone would use definitively when it should be definitely I can't understand.
Apart from that, I'm sure that readers of Regency Romance will enjoy this book. I found it somewhat unbelievable as part of a lady's education included how to run a household. In many houses the still room fell under the sway of the lady of the house. Despite her parents vulgarity Cora was raised by governesses and tutors who would have taught her these things. Even more so since her parents would have made sure that their ambitions for their daughter included her marrying a title. For all these reasons I am giving this a three star rating.
